I use vinegar or pink solution. Haven’t used bleach in ages. Perfectly fine. And we never get sick.

Just use a bleach mix cheaper than alcohol

Yeah cleaning and sanitizing are not the same thing. Criticizing someone for the way they clean because it’s not sanitizing a surface is kind of crazy. That’s like getting angry at an orange because it’s not an apple

I used to be a housemaid for a deep cleaning business and I have a horror story too long for me to care type out in it’s entirety lol but basically the relevant part is that we had this house that had a $3000 tropical bird. They used to have two but said one died from sensitivity to scents and this made them extremely paranoid about the things we brought inside and/or used to clean. The wife had told us when she first booked us about the bird, and said that lighter cleaners like Method brand were okay. But then we get there and the husband says oh no those smell too strong use our vinegar mix! So we comply but notice that their pitcher of “mix” is vinegar and old MOLDY lemon slices. The place was health concern filthy so the “cleaning” solution of theirs was truly icing on the filth cake. For an idea of how bad this place was… they were old and the place clearly hadn’t gotten a good deep clean in many many years but also the tropical bird would poop EVERYWHERE and they would just leave it. (Mind you, bird poop is toxic and they had other animals) They would clean it up some but I’m guessing only if it got on certain things/surfaces because they had a metal scraper that we watched the husband clean up some bird poop with before handing it to us and saying “you can use this to scrape the stove top” EXCUSE ME WUT?!

How do you figure out % of homemade vinegar that is 2.9 on the ph scale. Also don’t really care about germs they are a part of our everyday hide from them and when they finally find you, you have no tolerance.

for all those people saying, "Im not using it to sanitize, I'm using it to clean." in what world is something clean if it's not sanitized? you're telling me you "clean" smudges off something and deliberately leave germs and bacteria on the same object just cause you dont wanna admit you're wrong about something. grow up

Clean is clean. All the over sanitation is what’s created such a large population of weak immune systems. You ain’t gotta kill 99.99999999999999% of bacteria to stay alive.

They use vinegar to clean some specific thing at the infusion clinic I go to weekly. They use so much and it hangs out for so long I feel like I'm pickled by the time I leave lol I feel bad for the chemo patients dealing with nausea. I imagine strong vinegar smell isn't exactly soothing.

Whoever thinks vinegar is gonna disinfect is playing a very dangerous game. Acids are for cleaning and dissolving, not for killing bacteria. Some bacteria and viruses are pretty happy in fairly acidic conditions.

Um, don't lick the floor maybe? I use 90 percent vinegar with very hot water on my floors but I am not fully saturating the entire floor with straight 30 percent vinegar for thirty minutes to make it absolutely sterile like a dadgum hospital. I won't be able to breathe to clean up the vinegar if I do that. I'll just warn you not to lick the floor if I think you might be prone to doing so. Ugh. I'm sticking with my vinegar and hot water and twenty minutes to clean routine.
