I think after the bomb, the radiation caused the child to become delirious after their "living dead" phase. It would also explain why there are "people dancing around the room", and why it seems he can't even process time any more.
The use of children's drawings and hiragana really sold the childlike vibe of this mv But as like most of your music, *there's definitely something wrong here* It's so , innocently sinister I love it, my wig is gone and scalp raked clean でちゅ!
In fact, this song is about a kid who found the time had stopped. He also felt someone was watching him. Though his mom was cooking, yet, she couldn't make any dish for the kid. Then the kid went crazy. I don't think this story is related to waltz.
I think it's a song about Hiroshima bomb explosion. The child is living a quiet and probably boring life with his mother and barely open door (nothing is said about it but maybe the father is in military), then in August 6 to 7th the bomb falls and the boy sees not the bomb itself but his surroundings affected. The neighbor at his roof was either smashed to it by the explosion or gone up to watch what happened to the city. The child received a lethal dose of radiation. "Because my body is invisible, the summer break will never end" - I suppose he already knows that the life of his city has been destroyed, and "my body is invisible" is maybe for he hasn't got access to the hospital and proper medical care. After August 7th, the picture is going black. He felt bad the first day and then got better, feeling almost healthy for the next two weeks. It's called "the living dead stage", when a person been exposed to a dose of radiation severe enough to disrupt the DNA and lose the ability to regenerate cells continues to live on the remaining cells, showing little symptoms. Except his skin, if broken, is never healing. By the end of August, the final stage of radiation sickness emerges, the child's health progressively worsens, he starts having hallucinations because of dying brain tissue and feels completely exhausted (I am helpless and unable to do anything). As the boy gets worse, he's unable to eat and digest food, then he loses the feeling of time, doesn't see surroundings and now it's a groundhog day that looks like a torture. A week later, he dies. His mother ends her life, not only to grief but to understanding that she is going to die the same painful death. Still, I did not fully get the meaning of lines about somebody watching through the door in room, maybe you got some ideas :)
@@pusheenaerlova5701 oh yeah that's true. But wasn't the bodies like melted as well for those who survived but also got burnt so bad from the bombing?...

The visceral, heart-breaking wave of dread and despair I felt when I saw "August 32nd" was truly something else. The song itself barely even gives you time to process it before it continues into August *33rd* and then goes right into that rapid, frantic chanting portion and everything goes to shit *again.* It went beyond the standard creepy Vocaloid song that features kids in peril: those are all usually pretty predictable - being assaulted by a predator, killing or being killed, mutilation, parental abuse, all depicted in clumsy metaphors and heavy-handed lyrics- and while it can definitely be done well, a lot of times it just feels like a cheap tug on the heartstrings, and they all seem to *affect* childishness rather than actually being sung from a child's POV - someone pretending to be a child, not an actual kid. This song is different. I have no idea what's happening. Neither does the singer, who, from the lyrics, feels so profoundly young to me that it hurts to think of them in this hellish ordeal. The song leaves us two possibilities: Something is so terribly wrong that it's creating things that shouldn't exist - like a month that goes on forever or the singer's perspective has been so horrifically warped that this is the only way that they can understand whatever horrific thing they're experiencing. Either interpretation works; I find them both chilling and sickening. All this to say? It's a fucking masterpiece. Well done.
I like this interpretation, I’ve always felt like this song sought to convey the feeling of PTSD and episodes of psychosis, having to relive a traumatic moment. Maybe it was just me projecting my own feelings, but the lines “because I am looping this single day forever and ever, tomorrow will never come.” really resonated with me and my personal experiences.
@@octosquid48 Even with the evidence (elaborated on in other comments) pointing to the song being about the aftermath of Hiroshima, this approach still works. As a casualty of the fall-out from the bomb, he would have been one of the first victims of an entirely new and completely unknown kind of suffering - and a truly horrific, drawn-out kind, no less. He can't comprehend what's happening to him because *no one* really understood what was happening. Not at that point, not really. He's just as powerless against it as he would have been against some of the more paranormal interpretations. The horror is tri-pronged - what's happening to the kid, his utter powerlessness in the face of it, and the fact that at the time, pretty much everyone else was just as powerless.
I think this song is about childhood trauma. There is a lot about some other people(/the neighbors?) watching the child, which I think correlates with the feelings of helplessness the child seems to express later in the song. I think some horrible event happened with/to the neighbors, during summer break, while their mother was cooking dinner. All I can make about is the event seemed to have overwhelmed the child, made them feel helpless, watched and disoriented (and prevented them from eating dinner/happened while the mother was cooking). The song is intentionally vague about what might have happened on that night that child seems to be living over and over again, which makes the fact it happened when they were a kid makes it feel more realistic, since the memory must have corroded over time/only remenbers what they felt.

You're my favorite Vocaloid producer! Looking forward to every new release from you!
しゅき
This is creepier than any previous vocaloid song so far.
i really love this one
Time: *Stops*
Kid: "Ta ru ra ri ra ru"
Men of culture: "Oh yeah, it's game time boys"
came here because someone told me that this is like how kikuo produces dayum
한국어 자막 해놨어요!
I’ve put up korean subtitles!
Miku Hatsune maybe, bc I actually don’t understand Japanese; I took these translations from another person (credible) bc I only understand korean. I’ve also timed it correctly. Also, it is possible to put up eng sub, but the translations might not be as accurate because I’m translating from that korean translation to English. I fear there might be miscommunication. I can try tho if you want lol.
ill look at it and compare it to the korean translation to check accuracy
오오..자막 어떻게다나요??
I think the theory of this song being about a war is true, this sounds and feels really disturbing
Thank you UA-cam for bring me here, This is awesome aaaaaa
it looks like all the lyrics are written in hiragana and that's super creepy 👀💕
This is so great, that my entire wig flew off!
I hate how 2024 makes this song feel especially relevant again...
好きすぎる…。絵と歌…全部好みです!

Is there any off vocal version? I'd love to make a cover of this song -it's too awesome
I can't believe I'm getting scared by fucking kid scribbles.
I love ❤️ your drawings Babu!
pre-ordered the new album
Squidkep so did I, the hype is killing me however the iTunes album says August 29th... yet the UA-cam releases all say 22nd
THE HYPE WAS WORTH IT
I jumpscared myself by accidentally skipping from a quiet part to the chorus I got chillllw
I’m bald. This too good. 😩👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
If you ignore the lyrics. The mv is somehow metaphorical to guts from berserk. Like especially the later half of the part. Does anyone get what i mean?
You are doing great as always babu!
holyyyyyyyy~~~❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
i love it so much
