I have the same hair steamer and tried this today to detangle for tomorrows wash. I used Grapeseed oil only. Afterwards, i was like “huh”. The shed hair just slid out like you said. My new weekly routine.
I have a humidifier I can use as a steamer it has an inhaler attachment that looks like yours and can do the same thing so hey why not utilize it

I have a q-redew and I use it for detangling/pre poo and deep conditioning. It melts the tangles. I love the q-redew because it allows you to place the steam on any section of your hair. Makes detangling a breeze.

Also watched Naptural85's video. I used this method while deep conditioning during my last wash day. After the DC had been in my hair for 30 minutes, I used the steamer to rake it through my strands before washing the DC out. I felt like the steam helped ithe DC penetrate more into my hair strands. Will definitely now use it for prepoo on my next wash day.

I bought a steamer last year and use it twice a month. Last weekend I used it to absorb my leave in since i didn't add it in the shower and it was amazing. Thanks for this tip I will try this technique to prepoo tonight.

I tried this as a mid week refresh. It left my hair a bit rough as I have a higher porosity. I spritzed with rose water after and that helped lay the cuticles back down.

Yep what I usually do to refresh midweek is going to the bathroom turn on the shower and let the steam do its work. I don't stay in there too long but just long enough to get some moisture back in my hair.
I have very low porosity,I use it directly soak withstands spray,when I'm done my hair is very dry,I apply avocados and chebe cream, place a plastic bag and steam again,leave it overnight and it's moisture.

I used to hate that it felt like I wasn’t getting steam to the back of my head until I started using an ironing board to put the steamer on, this way I can raise and lower it to get my desired height, I still turn around mid way through but my entire head gets the benefit of steaming
Girl I’ve been using the ironing board since I went natural. When I go to the hair dresser, they steam condition, I lift my face up to get a quick facial

This really helps me detangle my hair! I truly jacked up my hair because I was depressed. I am going back to what worked in the past. This definitely beat my handheld Q REDEW. Higher and more more controlled steam!

Beautiful Afro. I have a steamer but its a standing one so somewhat bulky. I have a face steamer however, that I use to refresh sometimes in the morning. Works wonders in winter when its freezing out and a spray bottle is just too much.

Its relaxing for me. Sometimes I end up falling asleep, LOL. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Unfortunately my steamer is weakening and it will soon be time for a new one. Plus, the one I have is no longer available. 😞😞😞😞 Again, great video. 💎💎💎💎💎💎
Yep. This method is perfection👌🏾. Kimberly Rowe did this on her IG stories a long time ago and I’ve been doing it since I saw her. The hood on the steamer isn’t as great when your hair gets longer/fuller 👍🏾

I have a similar steamer with the face attachment included bbBUT have never used it for my hair yet only my face but I wanted to tell you I have applied leave in to my hair and applied my hot head and it was amazing 👏if I do say so myself
I keep a pair of scissors with me because I suffer with ferry knots. Maybe I don’t finger detangle thoroughly enough on wash day? After this demo I will definitely be purchasing a steamer! I hope that I get better results detangling. Good demo!

I have a floor steamer..now I wish I would have purchased the type that you have. My steamer steams my entire head tho. It’s more of a salon steamer. I won’t be purchasing another. Love the video tho ..I watched Nap’s video as well. I always enjoy you both.

I have a qredew I use it when my hair is really tangle and dry with a prepoo. I cut short the wash hair session for me.
I have a hooded steamer, so I would have to be able to manipulate my hair under the hood to try this. I hope that works.

This technique is 👌🏾 my hair was like a bird's nest and when she suggested to use this for pre poo 😍 It worked so well, not so much hair for breakage 😌
Can one steam with a prepoo and still use the other one in the set to deep condition weekly pls?

Agreed! My q-Redew is not as easy to use and it does not have the face steamer part. I wish I could trade it for this one.
I also have a q-redew and regret that it isn't a little more user friendly.

That’s hard to say cause people’s hair can be in so many different conditions. Try it and pay attention to your moisture levels

you really don't need a steamer. I've been doing this unknowingly in the shower with the conditioner. Then, making a ponytail or bun for the day.
Right but the purpose is to do it BEFORE getting in the shower as a pre-poo method. A method in which is extremely important to do BEFORE shampooing the hair as you can actually end up with even more tangles if you don't pre-poo prior. Clearly you did not watch the video soraya.
