If Michael tried to somehow mimic the original version, it would have come off as...cheesy...silly. This understated version is, I feel, in honor of the masterpiece itself.
It was "understated" because that's all he can deliver. He's not really a great singer at all - has to pull out all the stops to be more than a performer at the high-school dance.
@@marymagdalene3004You miss the effortless simplicity of his delivery. He harkens back to the Great American Songbook, and the delivery of music interpreters. It is lovely in its own way. Not everyone needs to be Christina Aguilera.
People who don’t listen to more than a few songs of Michael Bublé, would think that he is a basic singer. He’s a fantastic singer. He actually has a great range. Beautiful tone. He sometimes does certain ribs and rounds that I don’t expect. Certain belts that I don’t expect. he can sing. If somebody’s not your cup of tea and you don’t listen to them, please don’t comment on what they can do.
Agree w @marymagdalene3004. I can only handle so much of Buble. But, The Bee Gees, they’re amazing. I have enjoyed and continue to listen to their music all the time.
@@eharper7 Wings of Pegasus (YT) Fil isolated his voice and analyze one of his live performances and seemed to be convinced he used some kind of pitch correction.
I had such a crush on Barry Gibg back in the day. He was so fine, I loved his singing with his brothers. But now he is older and refined. Congratulations, Barry this is an honor well deserved.
Damn it, this is such a beautiful rendition. I love his tone so much in this song. His delivery is just like a floating feather, it is bearable by our hearts.
Absolutely gorgeous rendition by Micheal of one of my favorite songs from my favorite band the BeeGees. Looked like Barry was really enjoying Mikes performance .❤❤❤
Very beautiful version of the Bee Gees song performed by Micheal Buble.❤❤ I loved the jazzy vibes to it. And Barry looked pleased with performance. 😊😊❤
I discovered an older album of the Bee Gees called Odessa, here on UA-cam, its from 1969, way before disco and Barry's falsetto. Its a beautiful album that for the millionth time shows how accomplished there were even before the late 70's. Much respect to Barry, Maurice and Robin, both gone too soon.
I have a box set with that album. I was a fan of their music before the disco era. Love their early music. They were asked to do the movie soundtrack but disco isn’t my favourite and I’d be willing to guess it wasn’t theirs. But there’s so versatile and have written for many artists as well. I think Andy would have had a great career. So that his life was cut short.
I so wish his brothers were sitting with him to hear this. For whatever reason the loss of them hit harder than most, especially for people I have never met, but I suppose it's because they were the soundtrack of my youth.
Pure ear candy… a beautiful melody sung beautifully by Mr. Buble , and a well deserved and touching tribute to The Bee Gees 👏🏻👏🏻. It’s sounds like these that makes the heart and mind keep glowing.
It would have been great if John Travolta walked out to Stayin Alive. That song made him a star. I also wished they would have talked more about Robin and Maurice. This award was long overdue. What can you say in 15 minutes of a career that spans 50 years.
I am a country fan , but I love the Bee Gees. They were so good, all of them were so talented. I wish they had done this years ago. They deserved it before now. Micheal did a great job on this song. It is one of my favorites.
This was a long due. I am so pleased to finally witness the Bee Gees, the Gibbs, being inducted into the Kennedy Center Honors. I am sure, the younger Gibbs are smiling from above. I just hope that the ABBA will be inducted soon and I can go to heaven with peace in my heart.
Michael Bublé actually and finally sang. Great job. Usually, he bores me to tears. The Bee Gees are incredible. I wish Maurice and Robin were alive for this glorious honor. Congratulations ❤
I am a child of the 70s, but a fan of The Bee Gees forever. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your beautiful songs. Congratulations, looong overdue. ❤
I remember when he sang this song 12 years ago with bee gees as got it on Michael album it was so beautiful I have also seen him sing this song live at his concert it gave me goosebumps now 12 years later michael still has it he the best.
Just beautiful!!! Truly wish all the Gibb brothers had been alive for this. What an impact they made on so many of us in the 70s and 80s, the soundtrack to so many crushes of puppy love!!
Everyone did such a great job honoring. Especially Alfie and say a lottle prayer. Alfie gave me goose bumps. The girl who sang was absolutely fantastic. What a VOICE. Never missed a beat. Bravo to u. And the bee gees shoyld have gotten this when everyone was still here abd not passed. But they always wait for people to pass abd tgen honor them. Omg wgat a bunch of loosers. But the show eas fantastic. 😊.so many older singers deserve this honor but where r they. ?.
Barry Gibb. Arguably the one best song writers of the 19th century. For sure up there with Gershwin, Parton and others. Top 10 for sure. Depends on taste I figure.
Michael’s voice has a new timber now that he’s older. Couldn’t listen before, now I can. Much like John Mayer. Glad to see a seemingly good person get his due.
So effortless, so brilliant. The Bee Gees era was truly a time to treasure.
It sure was. It just doesn’t get better
Agreed!
As a young man in the 70s, I found this an era to treasure. It will never be the same again.
Without a doubt!!!
😊@@agonzalesjr
Michael Buble is such a class act, paying homage to great singer/songwriter in his own style but not trying to mimic him.
👏👏👏👏👏
Exactly. No MANNERISMS. Respectful and discreet. Applauses ❤
Would autotune have given him a falsetto?
Going back to 2003, Bublé's debut album featured this song with Barry Gibb singing background vocals...magical!
So very true
Why couldn't they have done this when Robin and Maurice were alive? 20 years ago they'd already been famous for 30 years
My point exactly.
Bcs when they were alive they’ve been taken crap from you ppl and a lot of unnecessary crap
Exactly 💯💯💯I said that same thing
Bcs when they were alive they’ve been taken crap from ppl and a lot of unnecessary crap
This is a lifetime achievement honor, not an award show. They had no way to know that both would due young.
What beautiful songs Barry and the Bee Gees have gifted to the world. Such a perfect rendition by Michael.
Agree, totally lovely.
He 's soo good!!!❤❤

I agree 💯
To me Michael Bublé is a real musician. He knows his voice so well and truly makes every song his own.
I thought he was kinda derivative. not a thought ......... ......... but now I

20 years after he covered it on his first studio album "Michael Bublé" - this was beautiful ❤️
I wish this clip included what Michael Bublé said about Barry, and how Barry helped him with his fledgling career.
I was hoping it did too.
What a wonderful iconic voice, a wonderful soul and such a kind person! Love Michael Bublé!❤❤❤
Me too.
I waited for this tribute, great group the Bee Gees, how happy that the only living member Barry Gibb was able to enjoy this tribute. 🎉❤
Michael Buble ... a gentle soul.
How do you know what he is ?
This performance, by a phenomenal vocal stylist, shows that no one will ever come close to delivering the soul emoted in the music of the Bee Gees.
Boring and very dull.

Such a beautiful rendition. I grew up on the BeeGees with my parents. ❤ Well done, MB.
Very beautiful version of the Bee Gees song performed by Micheal Buble.❤❤ I loved the jazzy vibes to it. And Barry looked pleased with performance. 😊😊❤
