    A small earth magnet fixes the catch release. It sticks to the shoulder frame and you just flip it back down when your done with your set. No need for extra washers.

    Great informative video. Thanks. I’m considering adding the leverage squat to my collection. I already have the lying leg press one from Titan and I love it. I’m seeing leg growth and definition without getting the lower back pain from spinal compression. Hmm… I think I’m becoming obsessed.

    Thx Man for this review, I find it helpful. I own a couple Fettle Strength machines and now researching Titan Fitness for a safe/budget-wise squat machine due to blown acl & mcl knees. I believe this Leverage Squat machine alleviates much of the common lower back and knee discomfort affiliated with this type of equipment. Would you agree with it's favorable physical ergonomics after using it for a season?

    • @dadofsevendoesitall9341
      @dadofsevendoesitall9341  5 місяців тому +1

      I’d agree the ergonomics are pretty good. I don’t like that my knees don’t move forward and my shin stays vertical. It does alleviate lower back pain and I have used it following back issues from deadlifting.
      Thanks for watching!

    How forgiving is this on our back and would you say its quad focused? I've been shopping for a hack squat, but they take up so much space and are pretty expensive. I've been considering this as an alternative, but need something that is easy on the back and really focuses on the quads. Thank you for the content. Its been helpful.

    • @dadofsevendoesitall9341
      @dadofsevendoesitall9341  Рік тому +2

      I’d say it’s very lower back friendly. I put a 2x4 block under my heels to bring more focus on the quads. With the added benefit of calf raises, lower back ease, I’d put this machine on the same level of a hack squat. Added plus is the cost and a smaller footprint/space saver. Thanks for watching!

    Thanks for the video! Not really much out there on this been trying to decide between this or belt squat as an accessory to heavy squats for both hypertrophy and strength work. Any ideas?

    • @dadofsevendoesitall9341
      @dadofsevendoesitall9341  2 роки тому +2

      A belt squat would be great because you can force some reps out by holding onto the rack (Hatfield Squat). I do think there is some data out there that reports additional benefits regarding the stimulus from the weight on your shoulder like this or a barbell squat. I like the leverage for the option of calf raises as well so I went this route. You wouldn’t be disappointed either way. Thanks for watching!!

    This give me an idea
    I can take my car engine cherry picker aka engine lift and with some square tubing I can make an adapter for the weights and shoulder lifting points.
    Square tubing and padding for the shoulders should be around $100
    Can also use it for a standing calf machine.
    These lifts can handle 1 ton so no issue there

      So I've thought about this previously and I believe I would like it to elevate the heel more. I put a 2x6 block at the bottom of the platform and put my heels on it as I thought it would help with potential knee problems. Where it is now there is slight dorsiflexion rather than plantar flexion you would typically get in a squat with a weightlifting shoe. Does that make any sense? I will say when I have had slight knee aches or injuries, the leg press is the one machine I can continue to use. Thanks for watching!

It was definitely a honeymoon phase but I’ve since been doing split squats, safety squats, Hatfield squats, all these other variations, and I just feel like they’re all a more comprehensive and stimulating movements than the Titans lever squat machine. I would say that all depends on foot placement, but it is a lever with the weight in front of you so it alleviates or reduces the weight probably by 25-30%. I’ve squatted 365 for eight reps with a barbell and on the leversquat worked up to 405 for 10.

      I measured the height and with the shoulder pads all the way down from the platform to shoulder pad is 2‘8“. Maybe if you could measure the distance of your shoulders to the floor in bottom squat position you can determine how well you would fit in this. I think you would be good to go either way.

      It definitely engages glutes but not so much hamstrings. Since it keeps your upper back and shoulders in an upright position your core is not engaged as much. I don’t feel the need personally to even wear a belt when I use it. The platform could probably be wider for others but it’s perfect for me.
