Seems like you can't go ATG with this machine?
You can by removing the pad at the bottom, that allows the sled to go father down. I didn’t realize until I was editing the footage 🤦♂️
@@KaizenDIYGym Ah, ok, that's better then. Thanks.
@@KaizenDIYGym Would be interested in seeing a UA-cam short without the butt pad!
@@declanpollard1457 I will definitely make a follow up short
I posted a short today demonstrating the full range of motion
Been waiting for someone to make a video about this. Thank you
Hey! Glad you enjoyed it!
Damn! I thought I was going to learn how to make a leg press with Glue, Mud, Wood and Dental floss. Looks like a good value.
This is my “research” before I go all McGuyver on my own leg press design.
You can make a LandMine variant of a hacksquat
@@KaizenDIYGym Looking forward to this.
More reviews please this one was nice
Good to know, thanks for the feedback! My goal for 2023 is weekly videos which means I need to diversify. I was worried that my audience wouldn't like it.
I like that it has wheels and can be easily moved!
That’s a pretty sweet feature
Sweet, looks pretty solid. I appreciate the detailed review.
Thanks! Reviews aren’t my forte, I’m glad you still enjoyed it!
EXCELLENT REVIEW KYLE !
Thanks so much! It’s not my forte but was fun to make.
@@KaizenDIYGym You do Excellent work, that is why you have FANS .
This was an excellent review
Thanks dude! I was nervous about how it would be received by my audience but it’s actually one of my best performing videos.
I been seeing it on Amazon. I like it now after seeing it in action. I can work with this
Nice! Yeah I forgot to take the pad off for the range of motion increase but you saw my follow up short. The other thing is there’s a discrepancy in the weight limit. I’ve seen everything from 1000 pound limit to 1500 pound limit on the different listings. I wouldn’t trust putting 1500 pounds on it.
Nice review brother. I kinda want one now.
Thanks! I've been experimenting with different types of videos this year, I'm glad to hear your feedback!
Thank you for sharing. Stay safe.
Thank you so much!
Excellent review, thanks for posting. I'm looking at a GMWD lever gym but am concerned about the quality from a no name brand and this was the closest review I could find.
Hey! Glad you enjoyed the video. I did see the lever gym in their line up. I don’t have direct experience with it but if the quality is similar to this machine, it’ll be pretty nice.
@@KaizenDIYGym good to know, thanks. I don't need industrial strength so it might do the trick. Any way to get you credit if I buy one?
I’m interested in the lever gym and found this video ad well.
With a big purchase like that I always like to find a review. I for one would love if they sent you a lever gym to review as well !
Hey Sir, I’m 6’0 323 pounds and I make a change on my life to start working out. Thank you for this review ! I’m subscribing to your channel
Awesome! Congratulations! Thank you for subscribing and good luck on your fitness journey!
Has anyone seen the Linear Bearings version of this machine listed on Wal-Mart? It’s listed as RS-06 instead of DD-06. I can’t find it on the manufacturers website. If it’s legitimate linear bearings it undercuts every comparable model by thousands of dollars.
I like that it slides on rods instead of rollers.
Correct
Helllllllll yes. Looked at this company's leg extension/curl and this machine.
I was looking at the extension/curl machine as well. If the quality is similar to this one it’s a good deal.
Hey thanks for the review. Would you be willing to grab a measurement that goes from the edge of the wheels to the back of the leg press backrest when you've leaned it back? Curious how long that would make the unit. Thank you in advance!
Thanks for watching. I sold the machine after posting the video because I didn’t have room for it to stay permanently
Thanks for sharing. Is there any slop between the bearings and the guide rods? My leg press/hack with rollers rocks around in the track pretty badly when going heavy. Wondering if this unit’s sled rocks on the guide rods. Thanks again 🫡
No slop at all but the max capacity the sled can handle is 380 pounds (not including the weight of the lifter)
Thanks!
Thank you for the video, I'm seriously considering this machine. I'm 6'6 and trying to decide between gmdw, hoist, force USA and titan. Gmdw is Def the least expensive.
I looked at their website all the equipment looks exactly like titans except the belt squat probably uses the same vendor in china
The only issue I potentially see for you is the total weight capacity of the machine.
Hey nice video. Is there any way of going below parallel in either movement or would you need something to help you do that, ie, like added plates for height?
You can, I totally forgot to remove the pad that sits below the sled. Removing that pad allows for a much wider range of motion.
@@KaizenDIYGym sweet! Thanks for the reply
I posted a short today demonstrating the full range of motion
@@KaizenDIYGym hell yeah, you're the man
Hell yeah! Thanks for the video! I can't wait for you to mod it lol.
I’m not exactly sure what I’ll do with it, but it is super cool to have around the gym
@@KaizenDIYGym I've been watching your channel for a while. I'm sure those wheels are turning already 😂
You convinced me, just purchased this bad boy. 😅
Awesome. One thing to keep in mind is that the load bearing capacity of the sled is 380 pounds (not including the lifter) which is more than enough for me
@@KaizenDIYGym hopefully I can work with it
@@KaizenDIYGym the only thing I could find that said anything about 385lbs was the gross weight of the machine. Then the add goes on to say load as much weight as you can. Do you have anywhere that says the actual working weight the machine can handle versus what it can hold? I saw videos of it loaded with many plates and bands which has to be over 380lbs. I want to be safe but want to know where the line is between life and death 😅
Hey, fam. Thank you for reviewing this product. I'm strongly considering buying this for my work site. We have guys as tall as 6'5. And some guys as short as 5'4. Would this be a great machine for men of those heights? Especially the 6'5 guys. Please let me know if you can. Thank you in advance.
I think this machine will work for a variety of heights. I don’t have anyone 6’5” to test so I can’t say for sure.
The sled’s weight capacity is 380 pounds, plus the lifter, so keep that in mind.
@@KaizenDIYGym OK, great. Thank you for getting back to me! I really appreciate it. And thanks for the information. My coworkers and I are definitely going to invest in the machine.
How many 45 plates can you add total to squat? I'd like to know if there are any cons in the max weight that can be loaded on the machine. Would appreciate you looking into this. Thank you.
They told me the weight capacity is around 400 pounds (not including the weight of the lifter)
Decent review for a DIY guy…. Haha.
Seems like a good machine. That is awesome that is have the wheels and handle to move it around. Wish I had more room for a toy like that
Ha! Thanks! I've owned quite a few of these and I always up end getting rid of them because of the space they take up. Granted this one is better with the weights going directly under the sled, but it is still pretty big.
Seems like you can’t get a full range of motion during the hack squat due to the pad that is there to sit on for the leg press. Love that it’s a 2 in 1, but wonder if that can be removed for more range.
See my follow up video 👍
How is the range of motion on this machine? It was hard to tell in the video and you didn't call anything out specifically but I've seen sometimes on these cheaper hack squat/leg presses it is hard to get a full stretch at the bottom? Curious how it feels to you?
I am a short dude, so it’s pretty common for these larger machines to be limiting for me. This one actually does a pretty good job. I did forget to remove the bottom pad during hack squats which would give an even greater range of motion.
@@KaizenDIYGym Thanks for the reply, I'm also a pretty short dude so that's what I'm always wondering when I see these type of reviews. That totally makes sense with the bottom pad I was wondering if that comes off. Thanks again for the content man. I love everything you put out
I posted a short today demonstrating the full range of motion
@@KaizenDIYGym I appreciate you reporting back! Looks awesome!! Thanks man
Can the ROM get any better on the leg press too? I’m stacking stall mats behind my back on mine currently. Interested in this machine, though. What’s the angle on the footplate for leg press in the last setting too?
Yes, I made a follow up video showing how to increase the ROM by removing the bottom pad. It is linked in the description of this video. I don’t recall the angles of the footplate.
@@KaizenDIYGym can that increase the ROM of the leg press though?
I love the review. However, the machine looks more like a 14 gauge steel component than 11 gauge. Do you know where the non 11 gauge parts are on the hack squat?
The entire machine is non-11 gauge steel. Max sled capacity is 380 pounds.
@@KaizenDIYGym Wow, that’s pretty light. How much does it cost?
How do you like it compared to the other combo machines you have owned/tried?
It is a great machine, as smooth or smoother than the other ones I've owned. The major downside is not being constructed of 11 gauge steel. That limites the weight capacity to 1000 pounds total (380 on the sled and 620 as weight storage).
Just bought this, how stable is it? Also, how heavy do you think it could go? Always been worried about home gym machines because i dont it breaking while doing weight 😂
It is pretty stable. I asked the company about the weight capacity and I believe it’s 450-ish not including the weight of the lifter
@KaizenDIYGym awesome! That's what I've read too, just wanted to ask someone who has actually used it about the stability. If I wanna go heavy, I just do regular barbell squats. I planned on using this for hypertrophy 🙌🏻 thanks for the reply
the angle adjuster for the foot plate doesn't look strong enough because it wobbles when you are doing reps. thanks for the review.
Yeah, that 385 isn't the max weight, it is the full weight of the machine when assembled. I searched the listing to see if the max weight is stated anywhere. Currently is it not but I will encourage the company to add that information. Thanks for watching!
1500lbs check the Walmart link
@@KaizenDIYGym thank you
@@MetalsForBrunch no thx for me huh how ungrateful
@@Farquad76.547 lol thank you
Seems like a good product I saw this product on shredded dad. I like the idea it'd s combo Two machines for the price of one
Three if you count the calf raise capability. Also the ease of switching between them is a breeze.
@@KaizenDIYGym true good point.
@@KaizenDIYGym can only imagine
I've been thinking of buying this, but I'm not sure...all the better models are 1500 to 2k....so I'm not sure if they're really worth the extra money.
Depends on how much you plan on lifting. The weight capacity on this one is something like 350 pounds
It seems to bottom out before you get a real stretch. Does that bottom pad come off for more travel? Thanks
Yes it does. I totally forgot to remove it while shooting my b-roll. I’m planning on making a follow up short to show the full ROM
I posted a short today demonstrating the full range of motion
Do you think this would be worth purchasing and do you think it would be able to handle a significant amount of weight?
The company states the max amount of weight that should be added to the sled is 380 pounds, it can handle another 620 pounds as weight storage. So max is 1000 pounds (not including the lifter), if that's not enough for you to get in a good leg workout, I'd suggest a commercial grade machine.
@@KaizenDIYGym Thanks for the info.
How long did each box came in
Should i invest in this or should i just purchase the titan Hack squat ? There’s definitely a huge difference in price
Depends on how heavy you think you’ll go. This has a weight capacity of less than 500 pounds (not including the weight of the lifter)
Thank you ill probably buy both and thank you return the one I don’t like 😅 i just want this one cause i seen it has the little calves padding
Nice!Is it commercial use?we supply commercial use hack Squat &Leg press with $650
It is not commercial use
What’s the max weight for it.. looks amazing for a home gym
I believe the max weight to put on the sled is 350lbs (not including the weight of the lifter.)
That sled stops about 8 inches too shallow for my needs. Got to have more access to deeper knee extension.
Yeah, I forgot to remove the bottom pad in the review video. I made a follow up short demonstrating the fuller range with the pad removed.
Damn it Kyle you could have made that yourself nah I’m kidding it looks good the only thing I would say that most home gym owners would agree is that it’s gonna take up space for those of us that are limited on it but otherwise a nice piece.
Maybe this is my research before building my own version 🤔
@@KaizenDIYGym Now that’s the Kyle I know mod the hell out of it lol 😂
Can you please keep the noise down! We have a yoga class coming up. Thank you.
Ha! I guess that is a plausible scenario
Looks like a decent version with a hack squat leg press combo but there’s no way I have space for this in my gym
Yeah, it is nice but takes up a decent amount of space.
Hello! Have you considered making one out of wood?
I wouldn’t do it but I made a compilation video of all the great DIY leg presses from the community: ua-cam.com/video/1Q-bxOINjbo/v-deo.html
Anybody have any idea how much weight I would need for this thing, If I'm a 300 to 350 pound squatter? Would I need double that on the leg press to get the equivalent work?
You can check the product specs but I think I remember this thing having a pretty low weight capacity.
How much weight have you put on this?
The listing says the capacity is 300 pounds plus the weight of the lifter. amzn.to/4axBaQ0
Looks that the only issue is the depth , you can't go all the way down on the hack squat 🤔
Yeah, you can reach full depth by removing the bottom pad. It could es off easily, I just forgot to do it. Also, I’m a short dude, taller people will get better rom
I posted a short today demonstrating the full range of motion
Would this be a good option for a short guy I'm 5'4
Yeah, I’m only a few inches taller and I get plenty of ROM. Check out the shorter video I released showing how to get full range of motion.
@@KaizenDIYGym I'm having a hard time finding that one
Would I get a full range of motion if I am 5’6?
Yes. Check out the follow up short I posted that goes into that in more detail.
What's the max weight capacity? Love the fact that it has wheels and is portable.
I scoured the website looking for an answer. Currently they don't have a weight capacity listed but I'd guess it's 1000+ pounds. I will find out and follow up with you.
You had it for two weeks and already sold it on Facebook 🤣 you must’ve really liked it huh
It was a good machine, I just didn’t have the room for it. The only reason I agreed to do the review was because I could sell it and help fund all this work I’ve been doing. Totally worth it.
It's crazy that you built this yourself from scrap wood 😎
I’m getting better with every project 😎
Still using this machine?
In full transparency, I never planned on keeping this machine after the review due to the amount of premium floor space it takes up. I sold it just after posting the video. If I had more space, I would have kept it and I'd definitely still be using it.
@@KaizenDIYGym thank you! I’ve been looking for a while and have plenty of space for one in my basement gym. Does it hold up to the $2k competition?
Have you tried the Body Solid leg press hack squat combo? Have a chance to get one at a good price…just curious.
The problem with this type of combo machine is that often use only two horns for loading weights, and soon there will not enough space to load. Because we talk about legs, one of the most powerful muscular groups. In fact i will sell mine to buy a classic leg press with four horns , and a compact seated hack squat.
That’s a good point!
Link the website please i myself need me a good hack squat
ROM is a deal breaker though
Check the short I released today
@@KaizenDIYGym ow thats nice
Definitely has a ROM issue
That’s my bad for not removing the bottom pad during hacks squats. Check the follow up short I made to see full rom.
Barely gets any range of motion
