I've been looking for something just like this. Sometimes they are too all milky white and streaky. These were are perfect. Will watch again and pick a couple. Thanks. 💜😻🌸⛸
Been doing this for years, excellent for those of us who do not have time to grow out our nails extremely long and pretty. Essie ballet slippers and limousine are gorgeous as well.
essie TLC range is fabulous, my favourite is MINIMALLY MODEST SHEER, pink tone, no base or top coat and its a strengthener too, all in one. TINTED LOVE SHEER is beige tone with shimmer Trust me you will love these
My favorite sheers are Orly Rose Colored Glasses, Essie Pink Glove Service, Essie Gossamer Garments and Essie Inside Scoop. Pink Glove Service is the perfect base for a French manicure and I like RCG at 3 coats. I’m actually wearing it on my toes right now!!
If you haven't tried Zoya's Pink Perfector, I highly recommend. There are a couple Perfector colors to choose from based on your skin tone. Plus, a purple you can use for 1st coat if your nails are yellowed. You can mix/match to your liking. I'm fair/light. The pink one is perfect for me. For best results, use the whole Naked Manicure system. It really does help your nails grow. I'm not a huge fan of the matte top coat in the kit, but if you want a more natural look, it works. Just apply a thin, even coat. Or, it can look streaky. Thanks for the suggestions!
OPI Put It In Neutral A few years ago I complimented a lady wearing this beautiful neutral nail polish. Whenever I have it on I always get compliments. Before my go-to neutral color was OPI Bubble Bath.💕
Girl, We’re totally on the same page when it comes to favorite sheers- your nails but better look! I just got BEB from Olive & June, and I’m obsessed! Like you, I’ve never had any issues when it comes down to being streaky, etc. If I want a natural look, from taking a break from swatching all kinds of colors, sheers are my all time go to! BEB reminded me a bit of Essie’s “Dress Is More”, but Olive & June’s formula is perfection, and has taken the place of that! 🤭 I LOVE sheer baby pinks mostly. I have the Essie that you wore on your wedding day- G.G.... but after knowing how wonderful Olive & June’s formula’s are, I want to pick up, is it CCT? And, the Orly! You’re the one actually that influenced me into getting BEB, and I’m so happy you did!😃👌🏻💯💓 TY!😘
Essie Mademoiselle and Trophy Wife are two of my favorites! And they don’t pull yellow or nude on my nails, which I often have trouble with. Also, Static Nails makes two sheer pale pink shades (don’t recall the names), and they are FABULOUS!!
I LOVE Gossamer Garments. It’s my go to when I just want something really simple that’ll go with everything and it’s great for when my nails are looking or feeling particularly damaged haha. I feel like it makes them look sooo much healthier.
I've not had that problem with the Olive and June polishes (I have both colors she shows here). I don't know if its their formula or their fat bush - but it works. Their top coat is really nice too.
Karisma Kris After you apply polish, make sure to flip you hand so that you can’t see your nail. I heard somewhere that if you this, it will help level out the polish and reduce streakiness. I think you have to wait like a minute or less. :)
load your brush with just enough polish to cover the whole nail, tilt the brush so that it spreads over your whole nail and *very softly* drag it over the nail, letting the polish pour onto the nail, going even slover at the edge, then flip your hand over, the palm up. Do this with every nail. Tested on ballet slippers. Also if your polish has started to get solid in the bottle, its over
This is my favorite nail look. Essie has a lot of these. I started with "Hi Maintenance" but once I ran out I tried the gel cotoure "Sheer Fantasy". It looks like your OPI one only with a jelly like formula. Highly recommend!!!
Essie's Sheer Fantasy is my fave for the natural nail look, if you do 2-3 coats and you have long nails it looks almost like natural baby boomer looks.
LanaInAmerica It’s a look also referred to as a “French fade” or ombré French. “According to nail artist Jade Tang, who spoke to Refinery29, the trend was named after the post-WWII generation because it evolved from the classic French manicure and dates back to around the 1940s. During that time (the baby boomer years), it was popular to paint your nails in shades of white and pink.”
Funny enough, I have two version of ORLY Rose Colored Glasses. One (many years old) is labeled as French Manicure and it is a sheer peachy pink. More recently, I purchased a bottle (not labeled FM) that is a sheer baby pink. I have medium brown skin and they both look great on me!
I just received the olive and June white and pink. I’ve never heard of this brand before .i absolutely love this polish. It dose t chip or fade and the shear colors look clean ! Thanks!!
Got the Orly. Thank you for a sheer that doesn’t streak on yellow tone skin and a wash of color. Now if I can get my the O&J colors which are always sold out.
I absolutely love Essie’s “Sugar Daddy” color for natural, sheer pink. It’s dry similar to Orly’s “Rose-colored Glasses,” which I will be trying on your recommendation. Thanks so much!
For those who live in Europe, i recently bought French Manicure Pink from Hema and i love it! Works great and its super cheap too 😊 def recommend and you can play with how many coats for diff effects (its actually white and not pink but i prefer it that way personally haha).
My fave nail look! Some of my favourite sheers are: Essie Vanity Fairest, Essie, Gossamer Garments (I hear you on that one!), Essie Inside Scoop, Essie Sheer Luck, Essie Mademoiselle, OPI Care to Danse (very sheer pale lavender. sooo gorgeous but sadly discontinued [OPI please bring it back, or an identical dupe?]) and Deborah Lippman Baby Love. Also, Julie, have you tried a name polish thinner for your older bottle of Gossamer Garments? I use Opi's and love it. It has prolonged the life of all my polishes.
Thanks for this video, I really enjoyed it. My favorites are Essie Fairy Tailor, & OPI Act Your Beige. I’m definitely going to try at least one of these polishes mentioned in your video!
@jaunty juli I love Pink Meringue by No 7, Boots own brand. I’ve also put drops of Funny Bunny (whiteish shade) from OPI into a clear nail base coat to mix my own! X
Just found your channel through my suggestion page. Essie Sugar Daddy is a great sheer!! Just bought it and it’s beautiful 😍 I added a couple nail stickers to my mani and really took it up a notch.
ive been trying to find it or one like it, i love the way the gel looks does the shellac look the same/similar? theyre not really supposed to sell the public a gel polish so i cant buy it :(
@@sistersnaps874 Hi there, I’ve kind of let go of my nail care since March 2020 because I’ve been working from home due to Covid. I haven’t looked for this particular color in a while, because I still have a couple in my stash. I know they had both a regular and a gel version and the color looked exactly the same.
Hard gel - you can get brush on clear builder and a lamp. Best stuff ever. No staining from chemicals. Doesn't come off with acetone when you are doing someone else's nails.
My favourite "why even bother" polish used to be Dior "Diorlisse" ridgefiller, before I discovered Swedish brand IsaDora "Second Nail". A sort of conditioning/strengthening base in nude or pink. Not even a newbie clutz like am able to get those streaky looking.
I know I feel ya. I’ll look for nail products on eBay sometimes. I’ve found some great authentic products extremely discounted on there. Just be careful for expiration dates products.
those are really pretty colour. may i request about diy sheer nail polish like that? because it's kinda pretty hard to search those brand in my country. xx
Hi Jaunty Juli, I'm wondering if you can do each color on one finger of one hand for comparison....I love shear polish but don't want to spend $$ on colors I already have. Thank you so much for this video!
Thanks for the video it’s just what I was searching for! 💅🏽 For some reason when I wear these types of sheer polishes they chip super easily on my nails even when applied with base and top coat😕and doesn’t last as long as with a pigmented polish. Do you have any tips for this?
Essie 'Gossamer Garments' I know it is part of the the gel couture line, instead of the gel couture top coat, can we use seche vite topcoat or any topcoat with it?
I've been looking for something just like this. Sometimes they are too all milky white and streaky. These were are perfect. Will watch again and pick a couple. Thanks. 💜😻🌸⛸
Essie Ballet Slippers or OPI Bubble Bath. Oldie but goodie.
Ballet slippers is so streaky, I am always so much struggling to make it happen :'(
Ballet Slippers is the favorite of Queen Elizabeth I...I miss her
@@melodyclark8661
Yes! She always wore it… Also, I noticed the number is 096 - she was 96 when she died!
Essie 'Sheers to You' and OPI 'Sweetheart' and 'Put it in Neutral' - all classics. That Orly color is a must have for sure.
Been doing this for years, excellent for those of us who do not have time to grow out our nails extremely long and pretty. Essie ballet slippers and limousine are gorgeous as well.

Erica Yarnell thanks for the Zoya recommendation. I like their line of polishes without the harsh chemicals.
The purple was perfect! I used a pale Essie polish over it and I’m so pleased.
Cheerio is speaking my name! It's like your own nails, but much better! Love all these colors. Thanks for this video!!
OPI Put It In Neutral
A few years ago I complimented a lady wearing this beautiful neutral nail polish. Whenever I have it on I always get compliments. Before my go-to neutral color was OPI Bubble Bath.💕
I've been searching for sheer that are gorgeous & I can do myself. Thank you, Juli. You are a magician!
Ooooooh! So a ‘best baby pink’ next!! That’s my fav go to color when needing to do my nails. 💕

ORLY Des Fleurs. I love it!
This video was for me! Love sheer polishes! 😊💕 I'd love to try Olive and June CCT! My favourite at the moment is Essie Mademoiselle!
Every sheer polish I’ve ever tried is impossible to put on without streakiness. Always so disappointing. Is there a secret to applying it?
I've not had that problem with the Olive and June polishes (I have both colors she shows here). I don't know if its their formula or their fat bush - but it works. Their top coat is really nice too.
Try not to do tooo many strokes when painting. It’s hard if your brush is thin but yeah
Karisma Kris After you apply polish, make sure to flip you hand so that you can’t see your nail. I heard somewhere that if you this, it will help level out the polish and reduce streakiness. I think you have to wait like a minute or less. :)
@@satinstudies3292 yep that is the trick I use every time and it really gets rid of all the unevenness... it is annoying but worth it

Good LORD, I wish I had nails like those. Gorgeous. I have O&J's BEB and CCT and I LOVE them.

I love the sheer collection by Essie. Bodice Goddess is a great one with a hint of lavender and Inside Scoop is a very pale pink.
Got the Orly. Thank you for a sheer that doesn’t streak on yellow tone skin and a wash of color. Now if I can get my the O&J colors which are always sold out.
Omg I used the orly French manicure in the light pink shade you showed in your video and it’s perfect thank you for an amazing recommendation ✅

I absolutely love Essie’s “Sugar Daddy” color for natural, sheer pink. It’s dry similar to Orly’s “Rose-colored Glasses,” which I will be trying on your recommendation. Thanks so much!
Thanks as THAT you can get here in the UK.
I LOVE Gossamer Garments. Been through 3 bottles. My other favorite is Essie Vanity Fairest.

Can you put a video on how to get gradient nails?
With different methods?
With some helpful tips?

Hard gel - you can get brush on clear builder and a lamp. Best stuff ever. No staining from chemicals. Doesn't come off with acetone when you are doing someone else's nails.
Hey Juli! Do you have any tips or polish recommendations for achieving this look when you have stained nails?
Can u do 5 nude polishes but for tan skin. Like which ones will look good on tan olive skin
Thanks for sharing these pretty colors. 😍 I love them. 💕
Matter of Fiction by Essie ! Love all your videos
I made this color mixing purple and white 😅 it's beautiful
O&J's EC is also really sheer (more peachy) and looks very nice.
wow i love the colours
Love OPI Bubble Bath.
Great video! Would have been nice to see the entire hand when completed, but definitely appreciate this! Thanks!!
CND Negligee, a soft sheer pink with some opalescence... similar to OPI Rosy Future, but better.
Orly is such an underrated brand, not sure if it's the formula or brushes, but i seem to never have streaks with that brand
I've had a few close calls in the past, and I've learned the importance of wearing Softgle
Thanks for this video. I have been looking for a polish to replace Easier Allure which was my favorite sheet polish for years.
Essie Skinny Dip is one of my favorites
Thank you for this video. I have been looking for something like this!!!!
Sally Hansen Color Therapy in the color Rosy Quartz is one you might like to try

Great video! Perfect demo and I appreciate the recommendations.
I like mademoiselle by Essie :)

Opi rosy future is a nice sheer pinkish polish. It's irridescent and has a little bit of purple in it

I want All Of Them!
I want them all!🥰🥰🥰
Loving these colors! I need to go shopping now 😊 Can you also recommend some gel polishes?

I need to get all of them..

I'd like one that will be ready to go in one layer for when I'm in a hurry. Which one would you recommend? So one that is not too sheer.
I can't tell from this video, are these gel polishes? to be used with a lamp? I only use gel polish but these colours are so pretty
Essie 'Gossamer Garments' I know it is part of the the gel couture line, instead of the gel couture top coat, can we use seche vite topcoat or any topcoat with it?
I cannot find Olive & June BEB anywhere! When I try to search for it, I keep getting redirected to OPI or to shades of olive green.
Orly bare rose is my favorite
Love these, and your video was very helpful. TFS 😊
