Great video. I haven't been fishing in years, I used to go course fishing with my dad but we just stopped because of work and stuff. I've just invested in a Shakespeare uglystick, an okuma 1000 reel and other tackle for a ultralite setup. I can't wait to get down the canal with ultralite gear, I did enjoy fishing with a float but this type of fishing seems fun ! Stay safe out there
I followed tbis method after watching your video and within 3 visits 2 to the canal one to a river i have caught so many nice fish from perch, dace, chub pike, roach and even bream such a joy to fish with. Also used circle hooks for the first time with a live bait and bang, staright away a 4lb jack hooked right in the side of the chops, a perfect hook, thanks
Love this type of fishing, shame my local river is too low, weedy and devoid of fish to really enjoy it regularly. Many blanks. Sure it's similar in other places
I was waching this video becouse I'm interested in canal fishing but I could not take my eyes from this guy.....I dind hear a word...that smile, the way he cast , those blue eyes.. ....
Just came across your videos and loving them. I'm only learning myself to see if I can my two boys interested in a bit of fishing. Good tips, I looks forward to using them around the small canal in my area. Looking for more info on drop shot techniques for first timers!
Thanks a bunch mate, followed your tactics and teqnique , but with a very small worm,,had best session ever today on the canal,,between 12-16 perch had,, brilliant 👍👍👍
Great video mate, I did loads of this style of fishing last year but I was using the 0.4g size 12 jig heads with the Polaris 1.2 inch red lures and yes I caught everything on them, if I remember rightly one quick session I had about 10 roach and rudd and lost count of the perch! Great fun just nipping out for an hour or so on a summer evening 👍
nice video mate. there is specialized rods for this kind of fishing for example crazy fish nano zero se. all you need to do is tap the rod with point finger and it vibrates very good. few drags few taps and it works like a charm.
Where I live in Pennsylvania right on the New Jersey border we have a canal on the Pa side and a canal on the Nj side that look very similar to what you have there. The Pa side has more Largemouth Bass and Sunnies and is infested with Chain Pickeral some giant. I think I may have seen the state record Chain Pickeral swimming around in there. On the Jersey side is more Smallmouth bass and Walleye and Crappie, both sides are stocked with Rainbow Trout. In between is the Delaware River. Fish on!
Been using AGM for a good few years now. Great stuff ....... great video too buddy ... as always .... be safe everyone and enjoy .... bout time !!! 🎣🎣🎣🎣😀😀
Nice, i love This kind of Fishery. I am from the Netherlands and i have orderd Some of that jighead and 1 inch Worms at Agm. Never Heard of agm, but now i do thanx 👍
Berkley fireline is a gel spun braid, great reel line but strongly suggest a flurocarbon leader to the lure. Even in smoke grey they will see that line in clear water. Try an Alberto knot to join about a rods length of 2-3lb fluorocarbon, and then a lefties loop to secure the jighead
Great channel... have watched most of the videos, Being new to fresh water fishing, it's a big help.. Can you please also share the location where you are fishing?
Nice catches man!! Tell you what try white grubs with a 2g jighead and literally jig in narrow parts and literally as soon as it's in a perch or pike will be on your line I did it last yeah and had about 40 in an hour! :O
I have a quarry like 2 minutes from me with only Rudd in it, its only about 2 acres but theres literally no other species of fish in it at all other than sticklebacks. It's odd, its the only quarry I've ever been to that doesn't contain a predator species. Nobody fishes it at all really I caught a few for deadbait last year, but its packed with fish up to around a 1lb size. I was thinking about putting a few perch in it they'd grow massive!
Hi bud just a quick message to ask about the colour of the lure you was using. I got told that fish couldn't see red. I know you have caught on this video but didn't know if it was the vibration or the jig head it's self. would love some light on this great video keep up the good work. tight lines bud.
Almost fell in the drink! Is it really worth the trouble to catch a teeny tiny fish? If i had to survive and fish for food, id go for a few nice big crappies
I find it hard to cast tiny jigs any tips on casting it out abit further would it be the line I'm using its mono I don't know what braking strain but it's not the thinnest it was on the reel when I got it it's a size 4000 do I need a smaller reel my rod is just 7 foot with a soft tip any help please
Chris dude. Ever heard of float fished live worm?😀 Stick them on and you can catch 40 or 50 of those Perch....plus the Roach and the Rudd all thrown in...😉☺
Mate it's just different sitting wat thing a lot after a while gets boring I fish every style to the highest end. I probably have about 50 grand of gear if not more. Bit everything is practical. Last 2 years have been big lake carp fishing and rivers.
I wondered why Allan at AGM was a bit low on stock, you've been buying it all up. I normally tie a Mustad snap link to the end of my leader so that I can quick change lures without having to re-tie, however is it better to tie the jig head directly to the end of the leader with these tiny lures?
Nice one mate. Love this style of fishing. I use fly lures, little imitation wasps, beatles, daddy long legs ,bugs etc . (Only trouble is can’t stop buying them they catch me if u get my drift 😂)some float so get took off top well cool. Would be good to see a vid on these to compare your style. Cheers dude and keep safe
We almost fish the same and gear 70 % I use the Aldebaran bfs xg baitcaster. Great way to fish the small micro jigs and catch almost everthing on it 👍539 rod backpack net glasses and go 🎣
I don't think that fish you caught is a pike, I think it's a musky. Look at the lines, they are vertical and not horizontal like a pike. Or is that what pike look like over there?
I did this stuff as a kid ... but as I got older .. the fish got bigger.. until with age ... the size of the fish just couldnt keep pace with my advancing years!! So I hung up my waders and took up Metal detecting instead!!!!
Great video really enjoyed it i have 3 john coo rods there excellent rods for the price had some awesome pike on my heavy john coo spinning rod thank you for posting, your mic is excellent very crisp and ckear excellent quality,ALIEN
Thought that roach was smoking a blunt for a sec lol
Matt Hughes its a rudd
Me too

"constantly tap that tip" made me giggle abit my childish side coming out hahaha
Love this type of fishing, shame my local river is too low, weedy and devoid of fish to really enjoy it regularly. Many blanks. Sure it's similar in other places
6:07 WOOAAHHH Nearly went Micro Swimming there lad !! 😮🤣🤣

You deserve to have your own show on television, as you know exactly what your doing ( Barry of Enfield)
The video quality is getting better every time! Nice job
Micro jigs are one of my favorite pieces of tackle. Literally never got skunked using a microjig in freshwater.
Thanks a bunch mate, followed your tactics and teqnique , but with a very small worm,,had best session ever today on the canal,,between 12-16 perch had,, brilliant 👍👍👍
agm👍🎣 probably one of lure fishings best kept secrets that one👍
Nice vid mate, i think canal fishing is so under rated. There's some nice fish to be caught. Has to be one of my favourite places to fish.
Great video mate, I did loads of this style of fishing last year but I was using the 0.4g size 12 jig heads with the Polaris 1.2 inch red lures and yes I caught everything on them, if I remember rightly one quick session I had about 10 roach and rudd and lost count of the perch! where can I buy micro jigheads. .AGM. .out of stock.
@@mrlovegod21 I noticed that myself it could be worth contacting them to see if they are getting more in?
Because I fish in London the canals are near featureless other than locks and garbage, how would I spot fish to cast to.
Thumbnail LOL fish looks like it's chongin a tiny cigar 🤣

Had a zander out the canal today early morning before if got hot.
The link to the rod doesn't work anymore, can you tell us what it's called
Enjoyed this a lot. You are lucky to have access to this kind of water. Enjoy!
And its just at the end of my road
Will have to bring my panfish ice jigs when I visit the UK
Been using AGM for a good few years now. Great stuff ....... great video too buddy ... as always .... be safe everyone and enjoy .... bout time !!! 🎣🎣🎣🎣😀😀

Never Heard of agm, but now i do thanx 👍
Love the vids, Thought you wuz going meet the fish in their own envoironment at 6:09 😮😄
Blackbird song and willow trees. Two things I miss about England.
Love the vids fishing going great for me in Dublin Ireland 👌🏼

is it possible to catch carp or tench when your fishing with this setup?
Nice one. Along with the fish it looks like you caught the sun as well.
Learned a lot from that . Cheers for making the video 😁👍
Nice one dude! Great to see you out and about.
Nice catches man!! Tell you what try white grubs with a 2g jighead and literally jig in narrow parts and literally as soon as it's in a perch or pike will be on your line I did it last yeah and had about 40 in an hour! :O
Hey thank you for the content! what type of hook is this. Also any chance you can link on where to get those small baits online?
My favourite bait is live worms and my favourite lure is a mepps spinner size 3 and blue dots
Jack Feeney ya you can never go wrong with a silver blue dot Mepps or gold red dot mepps
Would have loved a link to the micro jigs
Lovely to see a Rudd!
I have a quarry like 2 minutes from me with only Rudd in it, its only about 2 acres but theres literally no other species of fish in it at all other than sticklebacks. That is very extreme ultra light fishing!
Super nice video keep it up!
I myself do not go lower than 1 to 3 grams of jighead.
What rod/cast weight do you use ?
Hi
Nice session with a good mixed bag 🎣
Tight lines bud
is there a video you explain how you attach, carry and use various different landing nets?
It’s fisherman’s intuition
Where did you find the 1 inch bait i cant see them on the AGM site i can see 2 inch but not the 1 inch have you a link to the 1 inch ones
You could cut the bait down if not too thick.
Any ideas on where to get this line? Berkley Fireline? 2lb breaking strain sounds really light? Love the video mate.

berkley fire line! note taken mate

Could do with your whole setup being purchase listed . Thanks

Try use ultralight carolina setup with very small weight, I find this very good on perch, roach etc.
Hi pal. Where did you get those micro worms? Can’t see any at all on tinterweb. Cheers
I wondered why Allan at AGM was a bit low on stock, you've been buying it all up.
I normally tie a Mustad snap link to the end of my leader so that I can quick change lures without having to re-tie, however is it better to tie the jig head directly to the end of the leader with these tiny lures?
Is say so. With all the lures generally being the same size this session i could just slide one soft plastic off the hook and put and new one on
Great vid Link not workin for the rod looks great
Where is your boot/kayak? Down in the river?
Bend the knees perhaps and slightly put the fish back? Looks so much better than the casual drop from 5 feet and is less likely to stun the fish.
Love your videos. Keep up the great work.
Cool vid. Can you cast out to distance ok considering there's not much weight?
Why don't you use a disgorger?
Nice one mate. Love this style of fishing. I use fly lures, little imitation wasps, beatles, daddy long legs ,bugs etc . I might have to take a look myself
Good work mate, it’s got to be the best way to catch any fish,,, on a Lure 👌🏻🎣👍🏻
My local canal is really murky and as hard as i try i cannot catch a fish. Ive tried all sorts of techniques but alas nothing.
Hi can you tell me all equipment used in this video, want to start jig fishing, ps great video as always.
Hi do some carp fishing please, the big ones are eating. Great vids man (y)
Eating Who ?
I haven’t been fishing for years. Do you use barbless hooks now? It used to take me forever to unhook a perch.
What reel are you using ? thanks just subbed great channel!
Where do you nye those micro lure? I cant find it here in sweden
I use them as a spoonbooster on my microblinkers it is soooo good to catch rainbow trout
Those small pike will eat live worms too then, I think I'll have to try my hand at those pike with some small paddle tails in the summer
Thought fishing on canals and rivers was not until 16th june?
Your not allowed to fish sections of canals where they meet with rivers.
We almost fish the same and gear 70 % I use the Aldebaran bfs xg baitcaster. Great way to fish the small micro jigs and catch almost everthing
on it 👍539 rod backpack net glasses and go 🎣
So can we not fish in rivers?
Not till June 16th same as every other year. Closed season is March 14th -June 16th.
I don't think that fish you caught is a pike, I think it's a musky. Look at the lines, they are vertical and not horizontal like a pike. Or is that what pike look like over there?
Thats a pike we dont have musky here
No musky in Europe pal.
Try fly fishing lures very simular to microbaits
Great video mate.
Sorry can’t find the links as I like the keep net - where can I get one?
link is in the description bud
I shop at agm, and have only positive experiences. Recommend.
Could you kindly put a link :)
I did this stuff as a kid ... but as I got older .. the fish got bigger.. until with age ... the size of the fish just couldnt keep pace with my advancing years!! So I hung up my waders and took up Metal detecting instead!!!!
I’m out tonight on the light stuff excellent vid
no links in the description?
Just ordered the net hopefully will be good!
Nice one mate!! Good vid
Love you btw. Come for a sesh on ower secret river spots and abandoned ponds. You will love it.
Spider wire I use is 8lb with the diameter of pound hook length and its mono coated braid.
Nice vid found it very interesting and helpful thanks 👍
Nice catches :D Could you not find a bigger microphone lol
Ha! Yep it was bigger than the fish 😄
could probably get a smaller deadcat to be fair XD
The microphone is from 1945. But it is very good. I can good hear and understand him in Germany. Good luck with fish.
It’s not a mic, ‘Hairy Nipple Gigantism’ is a serious underreported condition🤣🤣🤣♥️♥️♥️
Where you based mate?
Can U tell about the reel you are using?
What kind of action cam u use?
Place ? Nice video mate
What tune is this beat from? All the best, D
Where can i get the worms from i cant find 1 inch worms on agm

Do you have a link for the line?
Hi, what reel are you using?
Abu garcia promax i think
Great video!
