since i am starting to watch emma's vedio few days ago, i find that i used to turn off the subtitle and even so i still see the contains very well. how magic is it? her lip, her gesture, and her eyes seems to teach as well. it's marvelous, isn't it? the best English teacher i have met.
My head is in the clouds when i watch your video but it brightens up my day. Come rain or shine, i have to watch one of your video each day. Ty dear teacher :)
hi emma! congratulations on your video, excellent command of pronunciation. i normally understand someone's origin as soon as they open their mouth, but it took me a few sentences to think 'down under'. your accent is clear, neutral and unlike most teachers, it doesn't sound pompous or pedantic. i thought knickers in a twist was just british. do you also call your 'underpants' knickers? how about 'know your onions', 'hear over heels', 'spill the beans', 'full of beans' and 'boot', 'bonnet', 'petrolhead', 'windscreen wipers' and so on. sorry i don't want to waste your time, you sort of piqued my curiosity
Come rain or shine, I watch at least one of your videos every day, to be fluent and more confident in English. Thanks Emma. I like your way to say goodbye. so, "Goodbye for now".😀 lol
I love how she looks at the camera. It seems she is making eye contact while teaching, on top of that she puts feelings in every word she said. Thank you very much. I learned a lot.
Thank you Emma! I'm brazilian and I'm learning english... I lovely how to teach, beacuse you speak clearly, slowly and you really help me so much to get learn!
Thank you Emma! -"To feel under the weather" (not feeling very well, not healthy ) -When it rains it pours -Every cloud has a siliver lining - To get wind of something - Come rain or shine - Have your head in the clouds -Lightning fast ( time or something moving fast) -Take a raincheck -Brighten up your day
mmmEnglish corresponding to when it rains it pours, in Italy we use "piove sul bagnato" . litterally it means "it always rains on a wet floor" 😂 and it is damn true haha I love your videos!
Thanks Emma, you've really brightened up my day with new idioms in my vocabulary. The idiom come rain or shine doesn't refer only to the weather situation that allows or prevents someone to do something. But it may also means whatever the situation that might happen, you're determined to do a particular thing or achieve a goal. E.g: come rain or shine i must publish my book this year.
There is a song performed by Frank Sinatra where he sings, "Come rain or shine, I meet you and to me the day is fine". I have never thought that "Come rain or shine" is an idiom because its meaning is obvious even to a non-native.
Under the rain When it rains, it pours Every cloud has a silver lining To get wind of something Come rain or shine Have your head in the clouds Lighting fast Take a raincheck Brighten up the day
I've got wind of your awesome lessons. So , Come rain or shine you will always be a great teacher for me. Just look your videos to have a brighten up day. I don't like yours videos, I love them.Thank you so much Emma.

I really love this video, it was very useful for me! I'm brazillian and I'm searching for diversity in my studies of English. One thing that came on my attention is some of the idios that you have there in Australia are very similar to some brazillian idioms! We have "cabeça nas nuvens", which is literally "head on the cluds", and the idiom have the same meaning! We have, too, the "brightened up the day"... And other idioms were completely new for me, thank you! I really like to learn idioms or proverbs, because I think this kind of thing shows the culture behind the language.
The weather idioms, I have learned now in English are so interesting, because there are lots of them with the same meaning in Swiss German. Thank you very much
I think that's the most interesting part about learning English idioms, Toni! There are often some similarities to idioms in your own native language that can help you remember them in English!
All of them are new for me. I will keep practicing and find the situation to use those idioms. I love your video a lot !! Your accent is very clear and easy to understand. Thank you to brighten up my day :)
