    Great lesson. I really like the way you always give two or three example of the new word in a sentence.Complement is related to COMPLETE. Compliment is related to COMPLY.You go back for more dessert (we all want more cake and ice cream), so you go back and get another S. You don't go back for more desert (who wants more hot dry sand).

    That's true. I'm always confused in using both complement and compliment, now, your explanation has freed up altogether my uncertainty. *I rarely used "altogether" too, but it simply means completely. Thank you so much teacher Emma.

    Emma! Could you answer my question, please. I have a great mistake about the different between USE (verb) and USE (noun). I always pronounce it: 's' sound and it looks like wrong >.< Hope you can see my comment

      The noun is /ju:s/ and the verb is /ju:z/.

    I happened across your videos quite by accident, but have watched several, out of interest in how you pronounce words. I am a 68 year old, lifelong Tennessean, in the United States. That is in the SOUTHERN United States. We are kidded by northerners and westerners for our slow speech and use of many words with longer vowel sounds than used in other parts of America. I am enjoying watching your English tips. Thank you for making your videos.

    I like your all video, it because you have good tone in which moves your lips and tongue simultaneously that produces real native British accent. So I doubt you aren't American, but no difficult to identify you that you're British born.

    English is very unique. The word compliment as verb is prnounced /ˈkɒmplɪment/. When it is used as a noun, the pronunciation changes to /ˈkɒmplɪmənt/, with a schwa sound. What a language.

    Hi Emma! I really enjoy watching your lessons and I've set as my goal not to miss any of them. Therefore I honestly hope you don't mind me suggesting a tiny correction for the video at frame 6:58 - the verb DESERT is misspelled as DESSERT.
