When I heard this song on the end of season 7 episode 2 of "True Blood," I was certain this was a 60's or '70's R&B gem long forgotten that had been discovered in a act of great fortune. It went without saying that this was one of those rare songs that you hear on TV that moves you to research and purchase it. I was mightily surprised to to find that the song was just a couple of years old and sung by folks younger than some of wines I've imbibed. Treasure Found! Young Brittany Howard's voice evokes memories of a time in R&B and Blues Rock long past. She's a young lady with an Old Soul. Wow, very impressive. She is slightly reminiscent of Janice Joplin. I hope that these young folks get to make more music like this.

I haven't heard a soulful rockin' blues band that really appealed to me in years. I listen to alot of music, I play guitar and sing... you guys just have it all goin' on, a really beautiful, stripped down, soulful, tight groove. I send you a deep wish... that you all find the strength to keep your friendships intact... that is the special magic you have been blessed with.
Love this band, and that radio station in Charlottesville, VA is real FM radio. I listen to everytime I am there. They play a great mix of music and have a lot of listener interaction. That would make me listen to music on the radio again.

I caught the back end of their set at Sasquatch and thought, "hmmm... they're pretty good. I kinda like this sound." Little did I know I'd be listening to the album nonstop on repeat a few months later. Pure perfection
I must say this... everyone talks about how talented SHE is. And indeed she is! But I truely believe that the reason the Alabama Shakes has affected us the way they have is BECAUSE OF THE WHOLE BAND! Not just another Soul, rock, or folk act..... But the best of it all.
