Always milk! I love porridge really thick too, much thicker than the bowl Grace made. I use less liquid/more oats, and cook it for a bit longer for extra oat softness.

how i make porridge that I enjoy ... take one sachet of quaker oats porridge, add a handful of your fav fruits ( i tend to add little bits of apple, banana, fresh blueberries, frozen blueberries, frozen cherries, frozen mango, frozen grapes and frozen summer berry mix) then add a good amount of concentrated squash ( i like the apple and blueberry or lemon) and then aa small amount of water (probably around 100ml) , pop it in the microwave for 5 mins and it turns into a more spongy porridge with bolder flavour and is more filling than sloppy/milky porridge .. you could always add chocolate or peanut butter too
Hi from Australia 🇦🇺I highly recommend trying steel cut oats, they are so chewy and delicious. I cook mine with a spoon full of brown sugar and soy milk but any milk of your choice is fine. Also they take a little bit longer to cook, around 15min but worth it. Once cooked I add frozen cherries, frozen blueberries, peanut butter and a drizzle of maple syrup 😊
I recommend a pinch of salt in your oats and cold milk on top before you eat it. You also might like chopped nuts and steel cut oats for a better chew and crunch. I feel like porridge/oatmeal is so personal that everyone else's version seems weird. It's something everyone makes their own way. I do it a million ways like with banana, peanut butter, chocolate, pumpkin, walnuts, brown sugar, any flavor i want really, but i always always pour cold milk on top before i eat it. It's a crucial step.
you should try flahavans porridge oats! they’re a bit pricey but they’re the only ones i’ve found that are nice, and try to cook them on the hob with milk :)

Porridge eastern european way : steel cut oats, full fat milk, sugar, salt, cooked for at least half an hour, stirring pretty much constantly, whent it is all very goey and nice you add a big spoon of really nice butter and let sit for about 10 minutes.

Not trying to come off as rude but someone cooking random things from scratch for their family all the time isn’t supposed to be realistic for most people. It’s content, it’s intriguing, probably entertaining content. I don’t get why people are so put off by her content especially when she isn’t forcing anyone to do what she does. But it’s up to your preference! I also sometimes skip the mushrooms, the main thing is the miso paste! And also some sesame oil at the end :)
for porridge, the trick is to soak it in milk overnight before cooking, then it turns out super creamy and not grainy (it ends up like a creamy rice pudding type texture!)
I craved Ham and Jam sandwiches during my first pregnancy - I even used to take them to work for lunch. Cooking apples were my craving during my second pregnancy and my poor husband had to go to the 24hr shop across the road from us at 11pm as I could not sleep until I ate one.
Hey Jenny from Germany here. I was wondering, if you could do a video either testing new in vegan products or one in which you compare brands vs supermarket versions of vegan products or vegan vs non vegan versions of something. I think this would be quite interesting. 🥰
Have you ever tried steel cut oats? toast them first ...in a frying pan....dry...stir constantly until toasty...then i'd suggest slow cooker, But you can do them stove top. They just take a long time and some watching, stirring and adding liquid. I like dried cranberries in them...cooked with them. And brown sugar and 1/2 and 1/2 in my bowl :)
Grace, maybe try rice porridge! It’s cheapest as a big bag of rice flakes on Amazon. Make it like normal porridge on the stove. It tastes like rice pudding for breakfast!
Date caramel honestly, in my opinion, tastes better than normal caramel.
