4 months into recovering from ACL & Meniscus reconstruction surgery, and (re) injured my leg after carelessly stepping onto the edge of a curb. Lost quite a bit of quad extension, in addition to pain and significant swelling, so feared I the worst; but thanks to these fine gentlemen, I'm reasonably sure that I "simply" sprained/tore the quadricep.
I'm seeing my Orthopedist soon, but I cannot overstate how much their information has contributed to peace-of-mind that I may not actually require another surgery.
    Thank you both, very much.
E: you've certainly earned my sub, wish I'd have found y'all sooner.

Thank you so much for this! I've been limping for about 3 weeks now! Now I realize that I overworked my quad muscle. I knew hated lunges for a reason 😂. I can't afford the massage gun yet but thank you for showing us the hand massage. It really hurt at first but started to feel better the longer I did it!

    How should one treat a
    bicep 💪 tear.
    Doctor says I have a
    'Popeye' arm .
This happened as I was lifting up something very heavy away from my body.
    I heard two loud 'pops'.
And it started hurting right away.

The pain started a few days ago, then it's slowly going away. But, I'm still kind of limping from it. The area where the pain is still kind of sore, but not as much. Kind of tingling too. I work an outside job where I'm always walking around. So, is that normal?

Sat back on my legs this morning to help my son put his shoes on for school, felt a POP and pain in my right quad, mid thigh. Found this video and it's confirmed I likely got a minor tear or pull. Appreciate the treatment options! Question, though: It's still quite painful to the touch. Should I start massaging right away or wait until the tenderness has gone down a bit?

Hello to all…my name is Ernest,
I…like Bob…was doing lunges a few days ago…with 20 pound kettle bells…I would do 10 paces up…turn around…and do 10 paces back…and…that would be my working set…for three sets…well…the next day/morning…my left leg…in the knee region…became tight when I would bend my knee/leg…and…the vastus lateralis turned into a bulge/knot…where it ties into the knee cap…however…there is no pain…just muscle tightness/discomfort only when I bend my knee 90° digress or more…
My question is…did I strain something to the point…a muscle or tendon is out of place/misaligned?
    …and…if so…what would a remedy for such a thing?…

Complete tear of quad from tendon has a distinct "pop", I know. Quad contracts up toward hip and immediately can be seen, no ability to move leg. Personal experience.

Was told I have a quad strain. Hurt my knees on a treadmill about 10 days ago.... I have been getting worse not better. I've been doing plenty of the RICE method. I now can't walk good at all. I have limited range of motion and can't walk at normal speed. My legs feels super heavy and week. My knees move upward when I'm trying to pull my leg up. Swollen pretty bad above the knee. I am now getting some numbness on the side of my thighs and on my gluteus. Help 😬
