    I don't normally make long-form videos like this one, but I'm glad you're all enjoying this one so much! I regret the following errors, thank you to everyone who pointed them out:
    ⚠ Correction at 7:55: I mentioned that the X1E can be controlled via your LAN without the Bambu cloud service, however this is also true for all Bambu Lab printers using WLAN. However, only the X1E has an ethernet port for a wired LAN connection. A recent update has also allowed for livestreaming over WLAN, which means most features are now available via your local network without the use of Bambu cloud services. Thanks to @Ashleys3DPrintShop for the correction!
    ⚠ Correction at 4:45: The P1P/P1S camera is 0.5fps, not 5fps.

    Just a small correction @ 7:55 You can control all of the bambu lab printers over local network without needing cloud. Lan only mode(over wifi) has all the same controls as its cloud alternative. So load/unload, start, pause stop printing, full XYZ controls, fans, bed and nozzle temps as well as camera all can be controlled when disconnected from the cloud so the X1E is not the only printer that has the capability. X1E does have ethernet though and hardware kill switches for networking.

    I love my P1S combo. What I really want to see next from Bambu lab is a 400 x 400 x 400 core XY or 350 x 350 x 350. The present build plate size is a real limiting factor for me. If Bambu lab want me to buy another printer from them (which I want to do) the build plate size is very important. I will want a few more months and if they do not release an XL printer, my money unfortunately will go to another manufacturer.

      Check the interview that Stefan from cnc kitchen did with the bambu founder. He said its coming but instead of making a big x1 they decided to make the A1 series and come out with a bigger and actually improved version of the x1 series. • @MisterkeTube
    @MisterkeTube 5 місяців тому +7

    My money is on an A1XL with 360 cubed volume, simply because technology-wise this would be so easy to pull off for Bambulab. It's simply scaling up the A1, slapping on a larger nozzle by default to counter the slightly slower motion due to the bigger bed and with the bed of the A1 anyway being lower in max.temp value, having a larger one that can reach the same level would also not be that difficult. Sell that toghether with the AMS lite for around $700 and the Neptune 4s would have a serious contender. And the buildplate can later on be reused for an X2L.

    • @xeraoh
      @xeraoh 3 місяці тому

      A1 XL would cost triple the price of Neptune, bamboo A1 is too expensive already

    • @MisterkeTube
      @MisterkeTube 3 місяці тому +1

      @@xeraoh Apart from the current A1 recall, I would totally disagree. Sure the Bambu is more expensive than a Neptune or Ender 3 V3 KE, but it is just so much more polished. I don't have an A1, but my P1S was just an eye-opener when I started using it, demonstrating how "amateuristic" the other printers were. There's nothing on it that wasn't done before, but instead of having to tinker and tune yourself, it just works. And that time gained is also worth something. The only thing I like less is the maintainability, not so much due to the proprietary parts, but the fact that so much needs to be taken apart to reach and replace components that will eventually wear out. And an A1 Max would not be so much more expensive than an A1. Slightly longer extrusions and a bigger bed (which being AC heated isn't that much more expensive) should do. I am hoping though for a P2S with 350x350x350 and the improvements from the A1 mini in hotend and screen. But I guess an X2 would be more likely and 350 might be pushing it (although from the current gen's size 384x384x384 would make more sense ;-) ).

    With the hole recal situation ill be surprised if they bring out a new printer for a while maybe close to the end of 2024. Im returning my A1 to buy an X1 so im hopping if they do bring out an X2 there wull be upgrade options 😉.
    One thing i think they could do to improve the x1 would be the nozle wiping it works great but makes a lot of noise, the way the A1 does this is a lot less noticeable and will last significantly longer than the x1 version whitch will require relatively frequent swap outs. (The x1 does do a better job from what i see but the A1 has the benefit of scraping and rubbing against its brush as well so im not sure if overal the x1 is better or not.)

  • @timt1346
    @timt1346 4 місяці тому

    I think the only big way bambu could improve from here would be to figure out multi extruder heads in the X series and then give it a bigger bed.
    Beyond that, it would be the goal to print without lines (which is every FDM's goal).
    I bought a P1S and it's everything it was hyped up to be. Kind of wishing I bought the X1C instead, but only mainly just because the price difference seemed to be a worthwhile upgrade. But I doubt I would get any better prints from it over the S.

    The only thing missing from Bamboo Lab's printers is open source software. If they are using Klipper firmware as the basis of their software, then they are breaking copyright law by NOT open sourcing their firmware. The ability to interact with their printers WITHOUT using their cloud, and the ability to use all features of Klipper (Mainsail interface, etc) is missing. I would consider one of their printers IF they'ed open sourced the firmware. That's why I'm building a Voron Switchwire Ender 3 Pro conversion.

    It would be out of character for Bambu to trim the A1 mini down. Their whole mantra is a complete package/experience along with the ultimate designation of the P1P being written off as further evidence. I do believe they'll have a new flagship since they already hinted one and a large scale would be a logical possibility as well. They seem to be averaging good reviews across the line up so while they do have a lot to live up to they don't show many signs of slowing down.

    I think they will make a multi extruder large format printer, to take on the prusa XL. The last two printers (A1 mini & A1) were aimed at taking prusa mini & mk4 customers away from prusa. The xl customers or potential customers who are put off by the €4k price tag for a 5head xl would be their target. The biggest criticism that bambu printers get is the large waste volume produced for multi colour prints. So a multi extruder printer would solve that issue & take more customers off of prusa. The xl had some a troubled launch too, if bambu make another printer that just launches cleanly & works out of the box, itd be another feather in their cap

      Today I only have MK3S and Minis from Prusa (not a fanboy but those were the quality one when I bought them) and I print either monocolor or change manually 2-3 times in a print to have different colors depending on the layers

    Not sure but if the next gen printer isn’t bigger there’s going to be a lot of angry customers, I’ll be one of them. I wasn’t happy to see the A1 but I understood it. It made perfect business sense.
    But seeing as how they already publicly states they will not upsize the x or p series and only the next gen printer will be when they release a larger printer to my mind that should be their focus. There is already a lot of market share being lost to the k1 max even though it’s got some pretty significant resonance issues. But those that bought it didn’t care, it was worth putting up with because the build volume suited their needs.
    Personally I’m patiently waiting for Bambu to release their larger printer. But if the x2 or what ever it is they release is the same build volume or only slightly bigger I’m jumping ship. I have to, I’m already not printing certain things due to the size restriction the Bambu has that I don’t want to print in parts.

I to was considering holding out to see what the future will bring. Now back to my prediction of doom. I have seen this before in the drone market and it is not good. Mark my words in less than 5 years Bamboo will be the only 3D printer manufacturer! They are doing exactly the same as DJI did. This is the intent and there is massive investment driving this. Not to mention the data mining potential with all company and personal prototypes being uploaded to China. Even states it in the privacy dec. The sheer quality user experience and print results will destroy the market as no other company has the financial backing to compete!

      I'd been watching 3d printers for many years before the A1 came out. However no printer before the A1 convinced me that it was worth the plunge. The sad reality is there was a massive gap in the market that no one filled.... and bambu is now filling it. The other big brands can still compete and its not that hard to get capital. The problem is now they can't just match bambu, they have to beat them. Best of luck I guess

    Why don't they just have four nozzles insted of 4 Herads for multi-color? Like I get that it would increase weight and make fast printing more difficult. But to get rid of all that waste material, it is a compromise I personally would be willing to make.

    God please Bambu lab make an idex with an OMG STYLE EXTRUDER (quad drive) don’t doesn’t jam, with all your bells and whistles. so It can print tpu with supports. If they do this it would be the most ground breaking universal printer ever made. It would completely change 3D printing forever. I have your x1e’s and c’s. Make the x2 with idex.

    Imo if you are only printing pla don’t get a the x1c, it’s fast yes but there’s cheaper and better for what you do, the x1c is for more than pla and is just overkill

    if they keep improving their products they will rule the market like apple did! just imagine a p1s double the size, with a real 60 fps cam, leds on each side, dual extruder and a ams with a built in heater with up to 5 or 6 rolls...:D:D:D man im dreaming...

    Imo the prices for these is still too much to justify, especially with the cloud bs and other marketing stuff that is more gimmick than needed for most and their slicer is meh. If the X1c would be $999 I would say fine, but it's usually more than that and the e going for over 2k when it's only got minor upgrades is such an Apple move. Perhaps, like you said, it gives the competition a kick to up their game. Frankly I'm shocked this industry still hasn't figured out what people really want and that's reliable prints and an easy and open ecosystem around it. We already have all the parts to make reliable printers and doing the interface over local network rather than on the printer would save a lot of money. Let's face it, you need the slicer anyhow so moving an SD card around or having more than an emergency stop and maybe some debugging tools is all you need on the printer. Be much nicer just to have it solely over network and just taking a laptop with you to debug things, like you do in oh idk a car. What Bambu does is provide something for those that don't want to tinker or don't really have a grasp of technical stuff anyways, but a lot of those that print stuff are good enough with their hands to not need an Apple approach to printers, especially when it means upgrades and support can only happen from Bambu themselves. Really hope this brings the industry forward even if Bambu is really not the savior they seem to be, but competition is good.

    Bambu Lab Printers are a good Competition but i will never get a Machine i dont Fully own if i have the choice, my Voron 2.4 has everything i want from a 3D Printer and it is 100% my Machine no need to connect to some sketchy chinese servers, only my local network.

    Bambu built their products by stealing from open source projects like Voron and Prusa. Then they built buzz by giving away a 3d printer to every UA-camr and their dog, who are now gratefully shilling for them. These printers are going to take us back to the dark ages of 3d printing, where everything was closed source and wrapped up in patents. Thanks a lot, youtubers, that's another thing you messed up for everyone.

    • @RRits57
      @RRits57 4 місяці тому

      I love opensource, contribute myself as well, but this behaivour is also what you see in software where opensource is used for closed source commercial products. And that sucks, especially when nothing gets returned to the community. A lot of times you will start seeing controbutions going back to the community when the company is established. So you can still expect Bambu to be doing that in the (near) furutre. These printers taking us back to the dark ages of 3d printeng? What drugs are you on, these machines enable a whole other segment of people to use these machines, build models which you can also use on whatever printer you like. If you can not see that benefit you are living int he dark ages yourselve.
