I also don't believe his story about his adopted daughter being accidentally killed, I think he did it deliberately and abused her beforehand just he did with the woman. I think he's responsible for alot more crimes but at least he got caught and punished before it was too late even though his punishment isn't severe enough for whay he did in my opinion.

Th3 only thing wrong with your theory is that he wouldn't have had a chance to do any of that. He didn't live in Norfolk- not at the time of the murder or before or after. He was there on drill for his Naval Reserve duty for 2 weeks. And I wouldn't call that picture he drew "in detail". He did have some idea of the placement of some doorways and a couple of interior walls but when compared with the actual detailed drawing right next to it, you only see a couple of points that are concrete. Mostly the main ones you'd expect- where the kitchen was, stairway and her bedroom (kind of). There's a lot of mess there that coincides with nothing. And he obviously crept around the house before going into her room, giving him a chance to check it all out calmly, if drunkly. I'm not surprised at all he can remember some details almost 40 years later about that house, seeing as he brutally raped and murdered someone there, obviously taking his time doing so and wandering around at his leisure. He almost certainly disabled the phone before going to her room, at the very least, and then searched around some looking for something valuable or money. Wouldn't you remember if you'd spent an hour or more walking around some house before and after you murdered the hell out of someone? That mess would be burned into my brain forever. I can remember exactly what I was wearing and what was on the car radio the night my neighbor raped me almost 30 years ago. Like that shit was yesterday.

Solving cold cases like this is wonderful. Not only was justice finally given to the victim being investigated, but there was resolution for all those missing Andrea and she was able to be laid to rest with dignity and respect. Advances in forensic science and the careful storage of evidence from so many decades ago have become a God send to families awaiting answers and justice. It never fails to impress me the determination that law enforcement has to solve these murders, even so many years later.

The amount of these cold cases being solved is amazing. What terrifies me is genetic genealogy is bringing to light a new type of killer. They seemed to have lived completely normal lives for decades after the crimes. If this type of technology and research wasn’t around they would still be free and unsolved!
