Just got back from Academy Sports in Terre Haute. Drove today it's late February. The weather finally cleared up and in the mid fifties and sunshine. Bought my favorite Braid 30 pound from Suffix 832 in green moss color. Also Spike it scent in Garlic and Crawfish , H2o lipless crank in Red craw, Mustad #4 treble hooks for replacing some old trebles, Z-man Chatterbait 1/2 ounce in Red and Black skirt, Was looking for a Smithwick ' Devil's Horse' twin prop Topwater bait but no luck. Hey Mike I just want to say thank you for all the info you share and products you help design. I picked up some of your sunglasses a while back and they were $15 and work better than the $200 pair that are in the bottom of the lake! My most recent purchase is your tackle backpack, it's unreal the amount I can store in this. There are bags out there for much more money and they don't hold this much.

The lures to throw, cool. But HOW to throw them, invaluable. My confidence lures are spinners and chatters. But to use a finesse trailer and slow roll the bottom is info I needed. Thanks Ike!

Lipless vs lipped crank baits are vastly different baits it would make sense that based on conditions you would use one or the other , I’m gonna guess Mike might know what he’s talking about, I imagine he has won a few more million dollars fishing than almost anyone in the comments.
@@MrBocephus77 Dont get me wrong I dont mean to attack or disrespect anybody, and in fact I am not even a bass fisherman. Mike knows for sure more than I do. But I notice this contradiction, as well as I noticed that when you see videos about best 5 lures for winter or summer or spring, they end up showing the same lures more or less for each season. Just an opinion...
It don't rattle on the drop.... remember,reaction with noise,then silent drop ,they hit on the SILENT drop,for that ill get 1st place💣💣💣

Great video! I'm down in South Mississippi,some of our lakes are already high 50 water temps, prespawn is full blast, destroyed them twice already this week on a jig, I make my own and been doing work with a green pumpkin/brown/tilapia I made up, they are picking it up and hauling butt with it!!

Don't forget about the indiana blade. If the water isn't straight mud, but it's not clear to lightly stained, the indiana blade is a solid choice to use on a spinnerbait.
Hey, David! Just found a little white and silver skirted spinnerbait. Put a 3.5 Silver paddled tail with silver specks as a trailer. It has Indiana and Colorado blades. Just killed the pre spawn bass up last week. Also used a Redeye Chrome shad. That worked when the spinnerbait quit working. Those blades have a lot more thump than the willow blades the water was mid 50's and stained. Tried a Senko Texas rigged Green Pumpkin color. Just didnt work. But it will. Was looking to see if anyone else came across this spinnerbait that worked. Shawn

Hey Mike, we used to deliver papers on your street and always adored your boat when it was parked in front of your house. We're from the 'ville and just got our 1st boat. We fish the Allegheny a lot but we're going to Erie the first week of June to fish the bay. Any tips? And did you know Barry from Lawrenceville who would hang at Lock 3 Bait and Tackle? He knew a lot and sold us all kinds of tackle last year. Well he passed away recently. He was a cool and funny guy! Wishing you and yours to stay healthy and all the best😁 Rikki

This is a perfect list for lake largemouth. Would you make any changes for river smallmouth? For example the Delaware River, north of the gap.
Love throwing Ratl traps and jerkbaits prespawn , but also love throwing blue fox super vibrax in silver or gold
I caught a good one pre spawn last year on a old school spinner bait with a Colorado blade it was great
I bought a down sized spinnerbait with a Colorado and Indiana blades it's white with silver skirt. I added a 3.5 Havoc silver specked paddle tail trailer. The blades thump harder than my willow bladed Boo ya in Chartruse. Just killed them last week. Crank and crank then let it drop. Repeat! Also used a Strike King Redeye chrome shad. Great bait too. Ike, try the vmc fatty-Z with shakyheads. As thin section before the tail, and will wiggle. Never heard you mention them. From Kentucky

RE: pre-spawn baits (cool water) South Florida doesn't have water that cool, will they work? Also Mike, South Florida bass ponds & lakes consistantly have a lot of Matted Grass, these baits constantly snag all the muck; recommendation baits for these conditions other than worms?
I love dt-6 but my only problem with is they bust so much. I had 3 sinking on me in one day this winter.
I was just curious if fishing the drop shot in cold water is a good tactic

Solid info. I know losing lures is part of fishing. But when I hear pros talk about how you're supposed to "bang" crank baits against structure I think they're trying to sell their sponsors lures.
