Yup in depth drop shotting I'm sticking to the moderate length 12 14 16 " water clarity was another big information tip also thank you again I will stay tuned for more 😮

Thanks Mike good info I fought the drop shot thing for years felt it was so boring started about 3 seasons ago now I always have 2 tied on especially when fishing new water I have been using the bull flat spawn trough summer the 4.8 size
This seminar was so thorough and understandable. I fish from a PA12. I have one dedicated drop shot combo. If you discover that you need to set the weight 6” from the hook instead of the current 12”, do you cut off the loose 6” tag end? I don’t enjoy retying the set up if I need to move the sinker out to my typical 12” length? Our water visibility is never more than about 18-24”. Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thank you.
Don’t forget depth & angle play a huge factor in where bait sits in the column. A 12” DS vertically fished will be 12” from bottom, same DS casted out 30’ in 20 FOW may be 9” from bottom & same 12” DS fished in 4 FOW, 30’ out may only be 5” from bottom. Angle plays a key factor as set length isn’t always where your bait sits.
Great stuff Mike! I will always click on a drop shot, Ned or jerk bait video. My lake has really clear water with mostly low (4-6") grass with a few larger bushes. I usually don't worry about the weight being seen as it's in the grass/muck/algae and covered as long as I drag it. Question for you. How important is it that your drop shot bait falls in addition to suspends? I have to figure the bass sometimes like the fall. I ask because the Elaztech baits don't fall and, I am not sure they are as good of an option if they are going to suspend 100% of the time. Can you shed any light on this? Thanks!
I've never considered any of these things. I've always just looked at how far off the bottom that I'm seeing the fish suspending on my graph to decide how long of a leader to use.
Agreed. Bed fishing should be banned. Especially in stupid tournament fishing events. Taking spawning fish and putting them in a live well all day then releasing them miles from their bed is sickening

How much floro line ABOVE the DS hook to where you tie to braid ??
All depends! Clear water bodies of water I like a 8-12 foot leader! Dirty water lakes you can get away with 3 foot!
I hope everyone here catches their pb this March!

Mike Do you you tie inline with a long tag end to the weight with a clinch knot ? Also do you ever tie in two baits?
Palomar knot is the way to go 👍
Ike, what about when you're fishing from the bank of your local reservoir, with a steep drop off?
Yes I do like what you are talkin about I want to see some boy details with crankbaits
What's the best water temperature to throw a drop shot? Is under 50° too cold?
Under 50 is not too cold, just have to go deep. All temps are good for drop shot if you can figure out where they are :)
I've never considered any of these things. I've always just looked at how far off the bottom that I'm seeing the fish suspending on my graph to decide how long of a leader to use.
Congratulations on the Hall of Fame induction!
Hi friend ✋🇮🇩 #Indonesian like
👍👍
Taylor Ham
Next time I fish a hot tub with clear water I'll make sure to have a 10ft leader...
Mike, you have to learn spanish, and do some vídeos like this, jijijijiji.
You should not be fishing beds with anything. One of these days you will be scratching your head wondering what happened to the fish.
Agreed. Bed fishing should be banned. Especially in stupid tournament fishing events. Taking spawning fish and putting them in a live well all day then releasing them miles from their bed is sickening
Mike u need to come fishing with me on the juniata I know u fish the susky juniata dumps into susky right up from where u fish the susky at
