My mom has been watching you guys and she loves y’all so much!!!! So we do this thing where each family member is in charge of a lesson every week, and my mom would always want to show your videos every come follow me lesson. Thank you guys so much for being here for my mom, and my whole family! Love you guys ❤️
Following "for the strength of youth" is the recipe for happiness. The discipline who has the gospel all his life is so much more blessed than someone who doesn't have the gospel and more vulnerable to be deceived with false principals of finding happiness.
I Join the church on my 30"s and I remember this scripture been used around me that time and I was able to understand that I was probably the ones who worked less, but in my hearth I felt like I would be the earliest ones if I could go back in time. I think the intention of your hearth its what counts and Gods know that. I had all the so call "freedom" that the world allowed but I wasnt happy there. I don't miss being of the world, I found the vineyard and I will work for 1/2 penny.
Thank you both for all you do & for sharing your time and talents! In the past I taught the adult gospel doctrine class. It’s amazing as a teacher how much you gain from that experience. Now, with the the new Come, follow Me home study program everyone has the opportunity to have that same growth. It Is Amazing! Thank you for helping to bring the scriptures more alive in my life and help me to know my Heavenly Father and His Son more fully. Your comments are thought provoking and very insightful! Keep up the good work! Prayers and love to you both!
Thank you for your thoughts and insights. So helpful. In study of this weeks lesson, it dawned on me for the first time that Jesus was talking about timelines of birth/our time on earth....this equalized the entire concept for me as a worker in the vineyard that I had never seen before. Then you two added the help of the Good Master I had just slightly considered, and reminded us that we never earn salvation, it is a Holy Gift from God who loves us all. Lots of growth this year, lots of personal revelations: just as our prophet promised.
Love your insights! As you spoke on rich young ruler and his checklist of good deeds, i saw the invitation really is to surrender the ego/natural man who justifies self goodness with actions but perhaps the heart, might, mind strength is not yet engaged as much as required for true conversion/following becoming. It's like the common concept of--if I had a million dollars I'd do so much good in the world, but truth is we justify not being more--more charitable or Christlike in nature because of temporal focus in struggle & scarcity & ego traits that focus on self-- comparing, competing, criticizing. God's goodness flows through our hearts not merely our hands--where your heart is, there shall also be your treasure. The invitation to all is to put off the natural man and see that all good is from God and is sufficient for our needs. *thanks for teaching in such a beautiful inspiring way that encourages each of us to have increase of "ah-ha" moments.
This is very timely for me. One of my goals is to seek more personal revelation in my prayers. I've been thinking a lot about the questions I ask and how I ask them.
I always thought it was unfair too. Thank you for clarifying that this is saving souls, not doing all the sacrificing and work we do as members (Strength of Youth, Word of Wisdom, Tithing, callings, etc.). I haven't sacrificed as much as the early Saints but if I can get to the Celestial Kingdom with my family without leaving behind everything, crossing the plains, and leaving my wife and kids to go on a foreign mission, etc. I will be SO GRATEFUL! I finally realize I'M AN 11TH HOUR WORKER!
I love this grace/works/salvation discussion. There is so much misinformation out there about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints concerning this. I feel your discussion of the parable of the workers and the real-life story of Jesus and the rich young man put the best perspective on this subject. You explain eloquently how I feel as a follower of Christ who is also a member of this Church.
Fantastic lesson. It truly made me think differently about how I viewed these verses. I also loved your story: Fireman Freeman. What a terrific tie into the subject and discussion. Thanks for your hard work and dedication. I appreciate your willingness to share your knowledge each week. :)
I always look forward to your videos and study sheets. Thank you for always bridging these verses for me. Loved the fireman freeman story and the recognizing the parables. Thank you!
I think it is important to note that the householder only offers the day's wage of a penny to the first labourers. Everyone else is promised "what is fair," not a penny. It's not until the end of the parable that we find out what the rewards for the labourers are.
Just discovered your channel. Really enjoy your insights. It gives me a different perspective than how I viewed those verses. Thanks for doing these videos.
Also interesting is that the rich man calls Him "Master" while the blind man calls Him "Son of David" which has Messianic connotations. They don't have the same testimony of the role of Jesus.
So what if the first laborers probably got the grapes on the outside of the vine? What if they were afraid of the prickles on the inside of the vine so they only got the easy berries to pick. What if the later laborers have to dig inside past the prickles....who is to say what is fair?
I love these broadcasts! I love the insights! I love your knowledge!! Just one tiny thing, Emily, could you please look at the camera so we feel you are talking to us instead of to David?
it seems like you twisted the scripts by saying Jesus should have said...Jesus know what he meant he meant what he said go and sell. Yes he does need Jesus but its' like you are avoiding you need baptism, and covenants....
This was pretty good, but it didn't seemas if you edited anything at all. Having visuals would have been great. Also don't scream into the mike, it hurts

Amazing lesson, completely shifted my thinking and understanding about earning our salvation versus saving others.
Wow the insight on the parable of the vineyard is mind blowing! I love this.
I love your lessons. I am single and this make my sunday!!

You are going to give up the opportunity to have all the blessings associated with these trials?
