I am on the High Council in a YSA stake. When I first started watching back in January, I was so taken by your message, that I had my wife come and watch with me. We have shared your “Come Follow me” message with hundreds of people. We love watching you two and the way that you share Christ’s message. Thanks both of you for your time and efforts.
I loved your discussion regarding how the spirit fills us. It prompted me to consciously introspect and recognize the ways through which Heavenly Father offers me nurturing, peace, joy, and just plain light into my soul. This consciousness actually gave me a huge smile!!!!! And it’s funny how later on you refer to the man who Peter and John heal by the temple, and how he leaped in joy. LOL!!! Yeah! That’s exactly how I felt as I allowed my soul to recognize Heavenly Father’s gifts that fill my soul. Thanks!!! This will sound sappy - ugh - but I really needed this today. LOL Thanks! I am actually leaping right now - in my heart. 😁 Thanks!!
Thank you soooo much for your efforts! I can only imagine how much time this takes to do. I look forward to these videos each week--I ALWAYS learn something new. I pray Heavenly Father's choicest blessings on you both!
Thank you so much taking your time to share your insights! I teach gospel doctrine and it always helps! I love the thought that the Miracle at the temple Beautiful is a story of the Power of Missionary work and the Power of Ministering! This should spark great conversation Sunday!
I turn to serving others and praying to be prompted as to whom I should serve....when I need to be filled....it works every time. Thanks for sharing that thought. I am making a list now of those things that empty me. I love and seek good scriptural discussions. Mondays are a favorite because this little 30 minutes is one of those "filling" experiences. It blesses me so much and then I can bless others. Out CFM discussions in the family and at church are so much better.
The ninth hour is actually 3 pm, not in the morning. During the Second Temple period it is believed that prayers were offered morning, noon, and "night" or evening which roughly equates to 9 am, noon, and 3 pm. It is interesting to note that since the days are longer in the summer and shorter in the winter, the length of the "hour" would expand and decrease with the seasons because Jewish days are defined by sunset. Also, it was (and still is) believed that charitable acts help to "strengthen" sacrifices or prayers. So many would come to the temple asking for alms because of this belief. Pentecost or Shavuot is the Feast of Weeks and is the second of the three annual pilgrimage feast periods. Between Passover and Pentecost is the Counting of the Omer (sheaves of grain). These 49 days of the Counting of the Omer represent spiritual preparation and anticipation for the giving of the Torah by God on Mount Sinai. Tradition holds that the Torah was delivered on Shavuot. The time between being delivered out of Egypt and receiving God's Law was a time of anticipation and the Counting of the Omer demonstrates how much a Jew desires to accept the Torah in their own life. This is the only holiday that is not given a specific date in the old testament, oddly enough. As the Feast of Unleavened Bread begins on the second day of the Passover season required a sacrifice containing an omer-measure of barley to be brought to the temple, Pentecost/Shavuot (the 50th day) required an offering of wheat, and was the first day that the offering could be made (another First Fruits). Barley is a poor man's grain, while wheat is a more luxurious food. Barley represented the Israelites were almost at the point of no return before the Exodus which was an unearned gift from God. The receiving of the Torah created a spiritual elevation and active cooperation for the Israelites; thus the Shavuot offering is "people food." This holiday was the annual celebration of God pouring His Law and Love upon the people and where God's prophet delivered the first direct communication between God and the children of the covenant. So, why Pentecost? Just as Moses gave the 10 commandments which were the word and the will of the Lord, the Gift of the Holy Ghost establishes communication between Heavenly Father and his children who choose His covenant. As Israel was commanded to gather at Mount Sinai (temple symbolism) Shavuot was a time where Jews were commanded to come to the Temple. The 3,000 converts are the "first fruits" to hear the gospel and convert to the church after the Resurrection and Ascension. They will then go back home to their various countries and prepare the ground and spread the first seeds so that when the apostles begin their missionary efforts the field will be "white and ready to harvest." Where before the Lord spoke through Moses and the Torah, now He speaks through the Holy Ghost to every ONE--individually.
I’m very grateful for all the time, thought and energy you put into each and every week. It’s beyond helpful for our family to use all the free printouts and newsletters and all the information! I felt so lost when we started this and all your knowledge and insights and supported our family and brought the Spirit into our discussion every week! Thank you! Thank you! ❤️
Great lesson, thank you! I facilitated Sunday School today and we had a good conversation on what empties and what fills. By the way, we call them ministering brothers and sisters, not ministers. ;)
Love it once again! You are both doing such a wonderful thing, thank you! PS. Loving reading Grace’s emails. She has such a way with writing like her mama!
I was thinking that when Peter saw the man on the Temple Steps, he felt the prompting of the Holy Spirit telling him to help this man. Not knowing of what would happen after.
I am not receiving my Don't Miss This newsletters. The ones I have received have been wonderful. Thank you so much for your wonderful insight into the gospel.
I really want to be able to teach seminary one day. People tell me I have a great knowledge of the Bible, it's the Book of Mormon I'm still lacking knowledge on. To my mind bringing others to Jesus is the best calling a person could ever have. Maybe one day I'll be worthy enough for it.
I love Acts 3 as well..... to me it's the power of Temple and Family History work. Our ancestors are waiting on the steps for us to do their work to then enter into Gods presence. Also the lds bible video actor - he's amazing! He's in this video to (I was like that's the temple guy!) ua-cam.com/video/kLCSVjHKQjk/v-deo.html
Another great episode of the Emily & David Show. I love you two and the heartfelt insights you bring to the table! Tell me...where does one find the video of the lame man you spoke of?
I'm new to this (heard about it in Sunday School while visiting Rome). I signed up for the newsletter several days ago and haven't seen one in my inbox yet. Can someone tell me where you find it? Not sure what to search for? Is there any other way find them? Also, is this a way to find worksheets from pass lessons? Thanks!
I don’t know why but I didn’t receive this newsletter and it’s not in my spam folder either! I see this was an issue for another commenter, too. Can you remind me where the page on your site is to download past issues and handouts?
Spencer. They seem to be following along and expounding on the new “Come Follow Me” home study curriculum. This was a new home study initiative for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It’s free on the gospel app and a fantastic study guide....
Read us the part where Jesus visited America after his resurrection it has to be written in the bible some where. , Being that the book of Mormon is the most correct book on the planet
I'm in Primary so don't hear any adult Lessons, so thank you for this, I so enjoyed it!

Hi. just curious, why do you do this video series?
I love it because I have no-one to study with. Also to get another perspective of the lessons.
Spencer Steele hi, i’m sure it’s because they too, cease not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.
Spencer. They seem to be following along and expounding on the new “Come Follow Me” home study curriculum. This was a new home study initiative for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It’s free on the gospel app and a fantastic study guide....
Is a church video available for Acts 1-5?
Yes, there is at least two involving Peter. You can find them on lds.org.
Read us the part where Jesus visited America after his resurrection it has to be written in the bible some where. , Being that the book of Mormon is the most correct book on the planet
doesn't the Book of Mormon have Jesus claiming to be the Father AND the Son ?
- near the end if I recall... does anyone have a Testimony that's True ?
found it at LDS.org - it's in Ether 3:14
Jesus Christ claimed to be God. (not God the Father of course.
Matthew 1:23
..it starts to lag a little bit towards the end
