I love tying magic strength into the existing economy of mighty deeds points! The "rough terrain not affecting the distance moved "might be the first thing I've seen that I'm not sure I like. But I'll wait and play it until I change anything :) (My concern is that it seems it only matters if it is a large area and you are making a second move - but I have a small table so it might be hard to get enough terrain to actually affect the game on it.)
I was being a bit brief - rough terrain halves movement of mounted troops. While infantry technically move their usual distance, the Command Test penalty makes it very slow progress and is a nightmare if they get shot at while in the rough terrain. Play it when the rulebook arrives and see what you think.
Saw that formed archer units get 8/8 dice, Elves, Roman Auxilia and 100 YW longbows etc. Would formed but still less practiced archers like Orcs or militia get the same? They’re still not skirmishers but obviously not as well trained. Or would they need a higher score to hit to represent the poorer quality? First time I've ever regretted GW MESBG / LOTR mounted being based on 40mm dia bases! Need to keep them that way to work with MESBG (and I never re-base anyway), does make fitting them on a 120mm wide base a squeeze.
All formed archer Units get 8 shooting dice, but you can vary effectiveness and missile ranges by tweaking the profiles. Shooting is always a 5+ to hit - any penalties/ bonuses are applied to the number of dice rolled. We have used cavalry on 40mm MEBSG bases in play testing- 6 to a base for Heavy Riders, 4 to a base for Light Riders - they just aren’t featured in the book or videos.
@ Thanks. Bloody GW eh 🤣. I’m guessing those must be wider bases or deeper. I plan to do 5/4 for heavy / light I think. Have the 5 aligned like the dots on a dice for Morgul Knights etc, maybe 4 to a base but staggered a bit for Wargs etc. That’s using 120 x 120.
@ I think they are 12x12cm bases. As long as you can easily tell the difference between a Light and Heavy Rider Unit, you can base however many models suits you.
@@Mogsymakes damn!! Conflicted!!! I have a pre order so I’m glad he’s focused on that, but I want to see part two of this battle,… 🤯🤯🤯 Joking of course. 😆😄👍
Great stuff! Fascinating scenario and the usual amusing banter
"But I did it stupidly" Richard sums up his life.
I note Mr Clarke has changed his dice!!😉
24:28 "Crazy bat people!" You got me expecting some Goths on the table! But the brief Mel and Kim moment was completely unexpected!
@@theDexMcHenry Nobody expects Mel and Kim!
Loving it. The more I see of Midgard the more I'm looking forward to getting the book in my hot, little hands

Can the rules handle chariots, both as units and particularly for heroes? Thinking Trojan War and Warring States Chinese in particular.
Yep.. the rules will have sample lists for Trojan wars and a unit builder will help you create 'heavy' or 'light' versions of chariot troops
Will there be a PDF for sale or it only a physical book?
PDF will be for sale on Monday 18th Nov on Reisswitz Press site.
Would the elves have been able to shoot since they had previously supplied support to the giant in his combat?
Yes. Providing support does not actually mean fighting; they are intimidating the enemy and backing up their friends.

Will this battle be played to a conclusion?
Yes, sorry that wasn’t clear at the end! There will be a part 2.
@@Mogsymakesany idea when we might expect part 2?
@ Rich needs to finish editing it, but he’s currently engaged with the titanic task of getting the pre orders of Midgard out.

@ Well, there’s only one of him, and he’s working through the night tonight to pack the next round of pre orders. It’ll come.
