Now I always listen to the song on the Autobahn at night when a girlfriend ended the relationship. The best therapy to keep going. btw. nice reaction and sry about my english lyrics thats not my main language. greetings from germany
Ok, context. This was the prequel to 97' Bonnie and Clyde on his first album where Eminem and baby Hailie dump Kim's body in a lake. It was tongue in cheek funny. Eminem and Kim met as foster kids in the system. That's why things were so intense so early between them. The Marshall Mathers LP had so many crazy violent songs like Kill You, Stan, Kim, Criminal, Amityville. It was a double down middle finger to criticism he got from his first album.
I was thinking the same thing. I was like “Okay, but now you gotta have her listen to 97’Bonnie and Clyde, but I see it was posted 9 months ago so hopefully she did because you can’t listen to one and not the other.
It actually wasn’t meant to be a prequel, he wanted it to be released on the Slim Shady LP but the record label cut the track for being too violent. After the huge success of the Slim Shady LP he re recorded it with actual sound effects and released it on the Marshall Mathers LP. The original version would have been before 97 Bonnie and Clyde on the Slim Shady LP and it had him doing the noises like the truck horn and other sound effects with his own mouth. He still does both his voice and Kim’s voice on this version but he made it sound less obvious if that makes sense.
@@YukonBloamie some of his stuff was pretty good, I liked Kamikaze and Music to be Murdered By okay but nothing even remotely comes close to the Slim Shady and Marshal Mathers LPs. They are on another level and at one point I thought they would be the direction music was going to move towards, particularly rap music. They play out like an opera and can have a stage show to go along with them and make sense. I was not a fan of eminem show or anything really that followed. He became different. There’s something about the hunger in Infinite and the sheer brutality of art in the Slim Shady and Marshal Mathers LPs that transcends music and it’s really what made him a superstar. Everything else feels like he’s working a job and doing it for the check again.
Watching gen z reaction to this is hilarious. They don’t understand what shady was or the passion em had behind his songs. I love this song. Not because the whole killing Kim, but more for the passion behind the hurt u feel from being betrayed by your partner. U can feel the hurt in this song. I don’t think many people think this is a murder anthem, they just know it’s a passionate song and he’s hurt by what she did to him
This song is a great piece of art, displaying raw emotion while also being psychologically deep. The vocal performance is phenomenal. It’s a masterpiece. One of several on this insanely great album. As an artist, Eminem has really lost the plot (for the most part) in recent years, but between 1998-2006 (roughly) (and on some occasions afterwards) he was truly powerful.
"GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM ME, don't touch me, I HATE YOU, I HaTe yOu, i swear to got i hate you....omg i love you" was pure emotion, this song is evidence that true strong hatred stems form love
We grew up singing to this song in middle school or elementary school. Todays generation wouldn’t be able to handle it. I think he was on like 2 or 3 things at the same time.
I think anyone who has loved and trusted someone so much and then for them to betray you in such a horrible way can relate to this. Coming from a place of such pain and emotions on how her betrayal made him feel is heartbreaking... Especially if its happened to you. My heart aches for the pain he went thru.
This is Slim Shady. Kids these days won’t know about hiding this album from their parents. I remember the first time I heard this. I was in the dark scared and shook and impressed all at the same time
There are two geniuses to this song. One: this song always reminded me of the ending of a drama. Like I can literally picture this in the movie theater and this is the way the movie ends. Second: he was rapping as himself but also doing Kim's voice. That is the genius of Eminem. Great reaction!
Eminem wrote this song after his wife cheated on him with another man and had a baby together in their house (Eminem’s house )after that he developed a psychological problem and he said in an interview that he was actually planning on killing her but instead he divorced her so his little girl hallie can at least have a mom so he thought it was better to divorce her and not kill her and after the divorce hallie stayed with EM (EM also had other kids but hallie was the biological kid the other kids laney and the other one which I don’t know her name where the kids of Kim’s sister and he adopted them because their mom was abusive and he also adopted his brother Nathan) and Eminem also preformed this song live while Kim was in the audience he brought a blow up doll that looked like Kim he started beating it up and then he sang this song and Kim immediately left and went home and started cutting her wrists in hopes of committing suicide but it didn’t work instead she only ended up in the hospital and in 2016 Eminem posted on his instagram that Kim commented suicide due to her mothers death and that he was really heartbroken about it and turned of the comments so no one would say something rude about Kim even after everything she did to him he still Cared about her shows how much of a good guy he is ❤❤❤❤❤
I remember listening to this track 24 years ago on release day and loving the instrumentals accompanied by Marshall's creative genius! The GOAT giving us a horror film without visuals 😂
This is one of my all time favourite songs I can relate on so many levels. The amount of times my partner's have cheated on me through my high school days and adult years I still listen to this as loud as my surround system will allow
Eminem definitely felt some type of way during this album. These songs are definitely a testimony of his anger and the culmination of all of his raw emotions and trauma

This song was supposed to be on the Slim Shady LP right before the song called 97 Bonnie and Clyde but the record label thought it to be too much and they cut it from the album. After the Slim Shady LP sold so many copies they decided to let him release it on the Marshall Mathers LP only they still made him censor a few words that described the son of Kim’s new boyfriend being killed. This song IS the reason why eminem is the best. Not his lyricism or cadence. It’s this horror rap opera. Should listen to 97 Bonnie and Clyde right after this one. The one goes into the other.
