Always nice being able to maximize value in dorms of different sides and layouts. The higher prestige for a larger room is a big consideration, noting all the variety of bed types and rugs and such. In terms of dorms, we also have to take into account the sleep club I imagine, whether students sleep in the room or on the go.
@@PowerPlays Sure, I am thinking it could allow for a configuration that is less than ideal for flowthrough though as there would be less competition in the room at any time. I have only seen 3 clubs so far, though can see the walking club being really nice so maybe no sleep club.
I've had this game on my steam account since it was released a year ago and played it for a few hours but hated it. I didn't return it though. I recently decided to get back into the game and now I love it. Got 3 stars on the first level and have over $830k in the bank. I am gonna watch all of your videos to make sure I maximize my earning potential in this awesome game. Great video too man!
I like 3 bed dorms where I build it 6 squares long and 5 wide. I put the beds 1 square apart, put desks by the pillow, then put the privacy dividers 2 vertical and 1 across giving a space at the foot of the bed. That gives the impression of little "rooms." Then, I use the long common area for other decorative things and entertainment items. I usually have about 10-17 people per room with 100% accommodations. If I have a double jump bed, I'll put it in a dorm with only one other bed.
Sounds great! I love the fact you can do pretty much whatever you like! I do hope they allow items on the partition walls soon! Would make them so nice to use!
Just picked up this game + Two Point Hospital on a Steam sale, and this video is SO helpful! Looking forward to going through your channel for more tips!
The nice thing about TPC is there may be wrong ways about setting up rooms but there is really no 1 right way. In TPH you were forced to min/max to make as efficient use of all the space you can but this game with its updated prestige system actually encourages you to make the rooms bigger. My favorite dorm is a 3x7 room with 10 beds and once I unlocked enough posters I was able to pop the prestige to 10 and even though its full, it really doesn't feel crowded. And it only costs 29k.
I 100% agree with you! I’m glad you understand what im trying to say in the video. As long as you get your dorm rating up then build it however you want. It’s what makes TPC soooo good
If you want to make pretty or interesting dorm rooms and you don't care about efficiency, then whatever floats your boat. If you care about efficiency, then 6x3 is the best dorm room size. It has 3 of each type of bed, the double jump bed, 3 wardrobes, 2 hand sanitizers, 2 trash cans, room for temperature fixers, and is level 10. It only has 1 door and 2 of the wardrobes face each other at it so it is a bottleneck at the beginning of every school year, but other than that it works great.
Sounds great! How much does it cost? Send me a picture in my discord as I might update this video! I tend to like smaller dorms so they are easier and cheaper to place but when you’ve got a decent chunk of money then I do like larger rooms, it’s just the bottleneck as you mentioned with lots of students going to one place. It also then dictates the flow of students so you want to make sure you’ve got all the right need fulfilment items nearby.
Accommodation rating is based on having at least 1 bed per 5 students. I have 140 students packed into my little shitty dorm room and they couldnt be happier
The whole point of the video is to show you can do it anyway you want. As long as you hit the 100% accommodation rating! I’m sure your 7x3 is fantastic also 😀
I found my go-to TPC channel. In detail explanation and example, so we can understand the mechanics better. Thumbs up
Thank you!! Give me a shout if you’re ever stuck and I might even make a video on it!!

Yeah very true on the sleep club but unless you have the beds the accommodation rating goes down and then less money!

Sounds like you’re absolutely killing it!!! Good luck.
6:15 This "giant dormitory" reminds me of my days in the army living in a shared bunk with my fellow platoon mates. Good times. 😄😄
Love that!
Thank you for getting to the point quickly in this video I appreciate it

@@PowerPlays I agree. I just want to put posters on the dividing walls.
I might try this out. My initial build before watching this video was a 3 bed dorm but for some reason I don’t have 100% accommodation. Lol

I'd been wondering about what to do with my dorms, this was super helpful 😺
Thanks! I'm glad it helped!!
Super useful video! Thanks Harry! I'm a fan of the 2 bed dorm myself but may try a bigger one to see how it goes....for science!
FOR SCIENCE!!!!
I feel like a "cubicle" should be dedicated for the double jump bed.

Also!!! Great to hear from you again!!!!
I've only just started this game and found your info very helpful, I've also played tph
Plenty more TPC videos on my channel so hopefully you can find some more helpful ones!
@@PowerPlays I will have a look, and thank you
Have a nice day ☀️🎮🎧😂🕹️
Great video, thanks for sharing.
Audio of your video (your voice) is very quiet tho.
Thanks for letting me know! Will adjust for next time!
@ConflictNerd need to watch this video
super helpful! I play lots of warzone and halo and I cannot play these games for the life of me
No problem! I do love me some warzone!
I’m really bad at FPS and all of those types of games. I’m okay in NBA 2K, city building, and games like these.
I used to play 2k allllllll the time!
Accommodation rating is based on having at least 1 bed per 5 students. I have 140 students packed into my little shitty dorm room and they couldnt be happier
As long as they are happy! That’s the key thing
my problem with sandbox mode, i run out of room , even with 10 plots
You just have some biiiiiiig Campus designs! Would love to see them!!
Lol I've been giving every student a bed 🤭
At least they will be VERY happy :)
The audio for your videos are really soft. Are you able to fix it?
I’ll take a look as when I play it back it sounds fine 😔
@@PowerPlays It's really way softer compared to other youtube videos
@@PowerPlays sounds good to me too.
FIX INVALID LAYOUT.
Every. Fucking. Time.
I know they are doing a patch soon to fix it!
@@PowerPlays not soon enough.
This isnt very good design. You can get a lvl 10 room in 7x3 for 50 students. Drop a new one when you reach 50 students.

What is the best dorm layout ? Not this lol 😆 way to big do a 7 x 3 people much better.
I was more demonstrating it actually doesn’t matter what size you have! Every size works it’s what ever you want.
