10:03 “almost every time I work on my car”. New subscriber here, recently picked up an ML55 2002 myself. Absolutely love it! Will be watching this series for sure!
No joke man. It happens to me sometimes too. Diagnose things wrong and then it's like "whoops, oh well" -- at least you know what's been replaced, right? Lol
Nice work! Any idea: Ml 55 2000 - Long crank then shuts off...1 turn of the key it cranks for a long time then shuts off- Any idea what that can be? Thanks
"My subscribers least favourite car in the fleet"......... yeah because it's not a Saab. Haha still love your work, dedication and videos! Keep them coming!!
Lol I get it. I have a mainly Saab channel. I was just thinking that when I made the intro and was like "I'll just throw it out there, see what people say" :-) Thank you!!
@@SaabDr This is your channel! I'm here to watch the content you create, Saab and non-Saab. Just like the Saab stuff better. Generally though, anything European and I'll bite. Just curious, as a crazy Saab guy (like myself) do you also like Volvo's? (I secretly love Volvo, but Saabs will always reign supreme)!
@@TheWiseTent I like pretty much everything European -- Volvo, Saab, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Volkswagen, Maserati, etc, etc. My passion is with Saab, but that don't mean that there aren't other cars I want. :-)
From what one of the guys on the forum said the bolt holes aren't tapped for the thermostat from the factory, they use self tappers. If the threads aren't chased when the thermostat is replaced the first time the steel, antifreeze and aluminum form a pretty good bond. The thermostat was replaced in this once before so this doesn't surprise me. It's definitely not the change of brands, it's the guy that worked on it before me.
@@TheWiseTent I actually have a 9-7x as well, it's just currently broken... common theme here. lol It'll get fixed on the channel hopefully this spring.
It wasn't coming up to operating temperature. The needle would always sit below operating temp and the heat wouldn't get 100% hot. I actually had posted a thread on benzworld and it was a suggestion to replace the thermostat since it wasn't coming up to operating temperature.
You don't have Dewhurst in the US but then again they are a MASTER BUTCHER🤐💩 Seriously, I am in so much PAIN right now watching this. You are desrtoying what was in its day the fastest SUV in the world and even today with a chip will still pull to 60mph in less than 6 seconds
Thanks for the concern. I saved this rusty POS from heading to the junk yard, stuffed a few thousand USD into it, and put 20k plus miles on it, then sold it to someone that kept it on the roads. I clearly destroyed it.

Also thank you for subscribing! More ML content will be coming out since it's getting it's 2yr refresh right now.

Better stay with SAAB)))
The Saabs aren't going anywhere! No need to worry about that. :-)
The ML55 AMG is clearly the best car in your SAAB fleet... any Saab would suck compared to that german tank
I mean, I love all my Saabs. But the ML is definitely a tank.
When you are used to working on Saabs, M-B definitely is a different animal. Just changed my water pump in my C32 and no broken bolts.

It's no 9-7X Aero but it still cool for an SUV
It's a little different and way more useful than I expected. That's why I like it and I've kept it as long as I have.
I was never big on the GM Saab's, but the two post-Saab Saab's I really like are the 9-7X and the 9-2X

...why would you think it was stuck open?

No you broke a rare car!
I mean, I kinda stated that in the title. However if you look at the playlist for the ML55 I also fixed it and it's better than it was before.

Nice, lets brake the engine cover when you pull it off, you are going no where near my ML55 AMG!!
I promise you that I have no interest in working on your ML55... Side note, it wasn't broken. But thanks for the concern.
Also... it's break.
You my pal are a butcher...
For fixing it? Ok then.
