- For the last several years, the world's apex cricket body, the International Cricket Council, ICC, run mostly by Indians, have been facing been facing issues with India's cricket Board, BCCI. While the BCCI sees things from their exclusive point of view, the ICC has to take a broader approach. Things don't seem to settling down anytime soon.

But it seems to be a one-sided story from the Video Title itself. Though covering everything in the video is not possible, but a brief explanation can help.
Also, more background knowledge can help too, about the taxes, about the relationships of ICC and BCCI. If else, making videos in PARTS (1,2,3..) can also help understand.

India has millions of poor but feeds poor's money to whole world ppl involved with cricket. Why should they give so much? pakistan needs to stop terrorism murdering Indians and others (inc own ppl) before they get any money - appeasing for 70+ years has not worked. No problems with bangladesh, uae, afghan, nepal, zim etc getting more.
Personally i appreciate decision of sashank's decision to increase the share for other countries. It will increase the popularity of cricket. Cricket should not be limited to common wealth countries.

Why should BCCI be exempted of taxes when other sports associations in our country are paying taxes for holding international events even though there income is far less than that of BCCI? This is unfair. No, special treatment be given to BCCI. The tax money would else be distributed among their own corrupt members in which no one is going to profit. Atleast, during pandemic those 40 million$ can come handy for government to set up more beds for needy or to drive the economy back to normal.

By shortening the duration between cups would ultimately reduce it's significance. Also that bilateral cricket would come to an end since every year countries would focus to prepare for world cup. Underdog cricket playing countries would be completely left out since every cricket nation would like to test themselves with the best in order to prepare for the cup and would ignore the weaker cricket playing nations.
Weaker teams hardly get tours now, Ireland is a pretty solid team, they may get 1-2 series in 4 years. The big three boards more worried about revenues from big bilateral tours (Ashes and such) and club cricket like IPL.
Although my two cents are that ICC has failed to ignite interest in Cricket the world over, one of its reasons ro exist.
As for country boards, BCCI is truly terrible, jockeying for power they have forgotten to create proper infrastructure for cricket. MSD was a big success for TRDW, then the program was scrapped. They are afraid of trying a new captain for the national team.
They should worry about why the people are not as cricket crazy as the 90's.
Sri Lanka during 96 had revolutionized ODI batting, the has been no other big innovation since then.
There should be no middle ways. Either there should be regular tours or cricket should go in worldwide club modality, just like in football. Test Championship is a mayhem. At least the world cups should remain significant.

BCCI is a private organisation and not a government and most selfish in its manner. What N.Srinivasan (Member of CSK) did was wrong when he was at top post in ICC. So Shashank did was correct and scrap BCCI to zero.

I totally support shashanks stance on international cricket just by making some boards earn more will create a hegemony and will discourage other countries to take up the sports, BCCI is corrupt asf and want to and mostly dominate the cricket sphere even though its not properly leading the way as a leader to spread the game across the world, if this goes on like this dont be surprised if one day world have only 5-6 teams

BCCI has lost the control over ICC since Shashank Manohar became president of ICC. He did this because he wasn't given much attention when he was in BCCI and just to take revenge he brought down the power of India in ICC. Now even though he has stepped down, it is honestly difficult for India to reach the same position it gained during the "Big 3" era.

BCCI should pay taxes and that money should be used to promote other sports. This way in long run other sports will get popular and will be able to generate money.

Let's say I work 70% of the job and leave other 30% to 10 other people. But when it comes to sharing the profits of work I'm told that my profit share would be split into others because that will motivate them, then yes I'd be pissed. And on top of that it'd also make others feel like they will get the money even if they contribute less. Like Pakistan's cricket board for example.
But India is richer than others.
I am huge fan of cricket and I believe every country should have equal chance else it will decrease the spirit of the sports. Money should not be priority as Spirit of the game should come first.

Increasing India’s share and revenue won’t be good in the long term, as lesser teams will play and lesser good quality players will come into cricket,Cricket can soon become only a 2-3 nation sport and that can’t be good for India

The fact that majir part of the revenue is generated by Indian audience, both home and overseas, BCCI is entitled to a major part of that. IPL being the richest of all cricket leagues is also because the audience is more than 20 million Indian viewers.
But.. in the spirit of Cricket and being the highest revenue makers.. BCCI should also contribute for the development of mraketm

It is a win-lose situation:
India makes 70% of the revenue for the ICC. But India now gets less the previously when the Big 3 plan stopped. It makes sense for India to get the most funding back or even the Big 3 because of the popularity of cricket in these countries.
In a straight point of view, that would make the most sense, but it also means that smaller boards are unsupported which makes cricket less popular in those countries. It is good for India or the Big 3 as they would win more with more funding. But it means other boards will struggle harshly.
An example would be the IPL. The IPL is fantastic and is clearly the best T20 league in the world with the most money and best players. The IPL does not allow India players from going overseas. In saying that, other leagues may struggle.
Funding also slows down the expansion of cricket in other nations. It slows down the process of getting into the Olympics, Commonwealth Games etc... It slows down international recognition. By population, Cricket is the second most popular sport, but it struggles for international recognition. After the new ICC head, we had other T20 teams pop from both women and men from countries such as Thailand, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore. Afghanistan and Ireland have grown in recent years. Previously, under the old ICC head countries such as Zimbabwe, Afghanistan and The Netherlands have fallen out of cricket and the lack of funding seems to be a trend in the popularity of Cricket.
In the big world it is the same, 1st world countries would fund 3rd world nations through humanitarianism and foreign aid. Foreign aid helps stabilise countries from poverty and corruption. It benefits countries to get back on their feet but allows countries to adapt and learn from big countries. If the BCCI accepted it like that, cricket would be internationally recognised as much as soccer/football and who knows, the Olympics or the Commonwealth Games.

Thing is tomorrow, if football or basketball becomes big in India, thanks to investment from big names from these sports who have far more money than cricket does, cricket as a sport will die because of how much cricket is now dependent on India. Expanding cricket into new countries will help reduce that dependency and also, allow for the sport to make profits from new locations.
Agreed. Football is by far the biggest sport because it doesn't rely on 1 country.
Hopefully the BCCI understands that for cricket to be a global sport they need to accept that they don't own it. If India walked away from the ICC the other countries would be disappointed but cricket would survive. It could even grow in Africa and other Asian countries.

I think instead of increasing the share of other countries and decreasing India's share ICC should allocate a small proportion to the development of the game in Africa, China and America. These are really good markets and a talent pool. If Indian money is used to develop cricket in Afghanistan or Africa... it would be much appreciated

basically two outcomes i will see more if things go good by BCCI and ICC
if BCCI wins: india, australia and england will dominate more they can afford more matches for their players, invest into their players. possibly next world cups winners will be between these 3 countries. struggling countries like Bangladesh, Sri lanka, Afghanistan, and may be west indies wont be able to get a solid good teams. wont be much competition. also new countries wont be joining cricket board.
If ICC wins: chances more competition among teams. better gameplay, better technology and more countries like Afghanistan will be in line. which means less revenue for 3 big nations.
Why is tax exemption an issue for ICC when they are a non-profit body and they haven't increased or helped the state of associate nations. Instead it has made questionable decisions. ICC should practice financial propriety and not head in the path of corruption where FIFA is heading.
