    I bought a KPV150 largely because of the availability of your DIY videos-thanks for making them so accessible! I imagine that's a big reason why Lifan helps you with these videos, as having them available definitely makes potential customers more willing to buy.
    I changed the final drive gear oil on my moped at 100 miles since I won’t be able to reach 300 miles before freezing temperatures hit, and outdoor maintenance is my only option.
    When I removed the fill bolt, the final drive was overflowing. The factory oil that drained out of the final drive looked like aluminum roof coating. The oil was so saturated with metal particles that it shimmered in direct sunlight.
    When the new 75W-90 gear oil spilled into the drain pan, it came into contact with the old fluid, and they wouldn’t even mix-probably because the old oil was so dense with metal

      @@seg83423 Thank you very much! I would run the scooter for a bit and re drain and fill to get as much metal as possible out of it. Hopefully everything is okay with it. I wonder if it got some water in it, oil and water definitely doesn’t mix

    I also change the oil through this side plug, which is very convenient. But in fact, there is another drain bolt for draining the oil))) which is located at the bottom of the engine crankcase. But when you drain the oil through it, all the oil flows down the pendulum.

      @@txperec Yes I remove both plugs to drain the oil, it does drain really close to the center stand for sure.

    Thanks Herbie! I'm getting ready to do this on my KPV150 too. Scooter sure is a lot of fun - I haven't ridden since my teens and coming up on 73. The manual says when checking oil "Remove the dipstick and clean it after a few seconds. Then insert and tighten it. The level must be maintained between the H mark and L mark". I have been screwing the dipstick back in before measuring. Should I not do that? Probably not much difference, but I would like your view on that. Thanks again!

      @@davidmiller8446 Hello and you’re welcome. No, don’t screw it in to measure oil level, just let it touch the threads and pull it back out to measure. 73 years young 😊 these scooters are so fun and easy to ride. I needed to run to the hardware store yesterday for a quick part I needed and the scooter was the easiest to get to. I enjoyed that trip a lot 😁

    Is your KPM still treating you well? I'm really wanting to buy myself the KPM, just gotta get the wifes 'ok' first haha!

      @@jfrancis10 Yes it is!! I honestly love the Kpm, it’s been the best Chinese bike I’ve owned with the KPR a close second. For the money you can’t beat it, good enough power to commute with, excellent fuel economy and reliable as can be. Good luck with the wife’s okay 😁👍🏻

    I have a similar clone scooter. Linhai Buck ADV 125cc. Do you know were the engines are source or copied. Are the honda/yahama clones or some GY6 evolution from China?Mine has in the owners manual after the breakin to change the oil at 500km then every 2000k or 6 months.

    • @herbiesgarage681
      @herbiesgarage681  3 місяці тому

      I think Linhai is a clone from Yamaha but I'm not really sure as I haven't done a history check on the scooter. There is a lot variables to an oil change such as excessive heat, dirty or dusty roads, engine running at a constant high RPM and the such. I base my oil changes on the color and condition of the oil. Sometimes I change it with a certain number of miles but for me I can tell by how clunky the transmission will start to get and the color of the oil. If you feel more comfortable changing oil by the owners manual schedule then by all means that's what you should do. If its a bike that I put a lot of miles on, then I go by a certain number of miles or months of time. Thanks

      @herbiesgarage681 dam so the kpm came with no manual or anything? And wait really? A scooter on the highway? No way?!

      @herbiesgarage681  4 місяці тому +1

      @@LedosGarage Oh I thought you meant does the Kpm come with a KPV ? 😂 Yes the Kpm does come with pretty good owners manual, better than some I’ve seen for sure. Yes, this scooter will cruise at 65mph pretty decent, now the speedo is probably off by 5-6 mph I would imagine but it still has throttle left. I was pleasantly surprised by the power this little 150cc engine has. It’s pretty quick and peppy for a scooter.

      @herbiesgarage681 lol 🤣 oh man no I meant the manual I probably should have said that. Shoot a free bike with a purchase wouldn't be bad at all haha.. but not bad for a 150 that sounds nice. Now I kind of want 1 too okay so now where at the kpv scooter, the kpm 200, the kp rs mini 150, the kp . Yeah so 4 of them I want so far lol
