Great review as always, Chris. I had the o-ring figure as a kid so this was a must have for me. Waiting on the shipping notification though. Can’t wait to assemble her to the lineup
I'm excited for this figure!!! Also what a great choice to include a blindfold who wouldn't want one of those after seeing that melting birthday candle of a face Lt Falcon has
It’s not really got anything to do with being a UA-camr. We have independent retailers over here who have to import their stock from Hasbro Far East. My pre-order came when their stock arrived. No mysterious secret. I just happen to be a customer of theirs who reviews on UA-cam. If you’re in the UK - check out Kapow Toys and In Demand Toys. Both great & expedient 🤘🏼
I will probably give her a Snake Eyes sword so she has an Arashikage symbol present. I’m surprised they didn’t try to work one in. The sword sheath she has is reuse from movie Snake Eyes. I can’t tell if it’s a reuse of the Morning Star sword. It looks to be a good figure. Needs more ab crunch. I’ll put it through the wringer when I get one.
Hi Prophet. Thanks for hanging on stream last night and thanks for swinging by to check out my pre-recorded vid selection. :) The ab crunch is tricky - some of the more gymnastic ninja-y style poses I've tried haven't quite been pulled off. It's functional, but you're looking for a little more sometimes with the martials arts folks. What does "put it through the wringer" look like? What kinda stuff do you do with your figs?
Really looking forward to this figure. I figured she’d be a must have, but seeing her in hand definitely pumps up my excitement to get her next month 🎉
I like this figure! She looks good, strong, great addition to the collection … bummer on the knee QC.. good figure.. It’s a bit of a bummer lately… I feel like a lot of figures lately are good and it’s just 1 or 2 little things that are keeping them from being GREAT! 🤷🏼♂️ Cheers! 🍻
Huge mistake was not releasing a modernized / recolored Jinx and making this one the Retro carded version. I would have personally liked to see one similar to this, but with *much* darker red (almost a brown like a dark red leather color) as this would be more practical in reality (hence modernized).
Interesting. Thanks for sharing you're opinion on that. One of your fellow commenters mentioned the idea of a retro release and speculated whether we'll see this figure with sleeves in that format to reflect the OG movie look more.
@@MoDXtraGC I think a version with sleeves is their only option at this point. It would fit with the retro releases attempting (most of the time) to be an exact replica of the originals, albeit in higher definition. I'm not sure how popular or desirable that figure would be in comparison to this one. IMO this is close enough to satisfy the appetite for a throwback version, while also being a "better" design. Anyways... it's all mostly meaningless (but fun) discourse on what could have been accomplished with a different approach to product management.
I agree. I will be unlikely to pick up a retro release. I generally don't like having too many duplicate characters anyway, unless there's a significant enough difference or upgrade, and I don't think a sleeved retro would do it. I like this reinterpretation in any case. Speculative discourse IS fun - and you're welcome around these parts any time for a natter. If you use discord I can recommend this server as well for some sound Joe Bros to talk with: discord.com/invite/aaT7uRGcCf :)
I quite like it, but I get why some might not. Different strokes for different folks that one. She is excellent though - good solid Classified. I'm appreciative of the simplicity. I'm a fan of the wacky stuff, but sometimes a steady fig like this is just what you need. :)
She is a bit on the plain looking side but I still want to add her to my collection. However you know they are gonna reuse her mold only with her red selves to mirror her looks from the GI Joe the Animated movie. I loved that we're getting more female figures to add to our sausages festival collection that is the GI Joe classified line😅. Great unboxing and review video Chris as always 👍 .I don't know if I'm the only one here that didn't have an issue with you not having that overhead rig but the video seemed fine to me without it. 😁
Yeah - the packaging overview was fine. It's not perfect (I'm all about sharing "the experience") but its passable for now. I was tinkering with the bracket last night - I think it might be fixable, just needs a new screw (the thread had worn down on one of the clamp screws). I'm happy to have more females too - it does look a bit male-centric on the displays sometimes! I think she's "a bit on the plain looking side" in the right way - rock solid, simple, kickass ninja. LOL
Not the right length or shape for a naginata. It is much closer to a bladed double-ended spear with a crazy, wholly impractical but fun design. Jinx is one of the few figures who looked great from digital render to in-package to in-hand. The color and style are stellar. Can't wait this to arrive.
Thanks. I mostly know what I know weapons wise from the odd bit of movie trivia, I'm not down with the finer detail. Appreciate the learning :) I agree that Jinx has been a consistent figure right the way through - had the knees not been a bit tricky she would have been a solid slab of excellent Classified for me!
Taken as a whole I think think figure looks good. I'm undecided about getting the figure though if I'm being honest....for a multitude of reason. One I don't have a great love for the animated movie, so I don't really have a great love for the character. Two I never really got into have tons of ninjas in the line...I've always leaned more toward the military side of the line. And three, if Hasbro ever put out a retro card version with sleeves and without all the tats I would be a bit annoyed...lol. Gonna have to think about this one. The good thing is since she isn't an army builder she isn't likely to sell out in 5 minutes. So I have time to think about it.
I think all your points of indecision are reasonable, and certainly enough to hang fire on a purchase. The potential for a movie/vintage style retro release did cross my mind, but this is one of those inconsistent moments where I'm into the re-interpretation. I think you'll be fine to pick one up down the line if you change your mind. You gotta be feeling it right to drop the cash. :)
Yeah, that's not a naginata. A naginata is like a staff with 1 short katana style blade on an end. What Jinx comes with is more of a Chinese Kung Fu design and its name escapes me at the moment.
Cheers! Appreciate that. I'm sure someone will come along eventually and get the actual name over to me in time. Appreciate you taking the time to answer my question in the vid though - thanks :)
Right? I can't figure out the freestanding on the ladies. Zaranna seems to be consistent, but the others you mentioned I struggle with. I suppose its a question of whether they trade off proportionality for balance? I can't figure it out. LOL

Thanks Colonel Angus. I don't think you'll be disappointed. The ninja ranks are growing...
Great review, can’t wait to get her in my collection
Thanks so much! Appreciate you watching & taking the time to comment 🤘🏼

MATT DAMON!
Mine's still on preorder on Hasbro Pulse. How some of you on YT getting it before the rest of us??

Awesome! I'm glad I've contributed to your excitement factor Curtis! Not long to go now - make sure to let me know how you get on when she arrives? :)

Yep. She's been fine since I gave her a heating up though. Not that I should have to, but she has been.
Great review. I’m looking forward to getting her.
Thanks David. Appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment. You a Jinx fan?
I wonder if you could kitbash her with a marvel legends Katy to make her look more like the classic. Great review, keep up the good work
Thanks Jennifer. Pleasure to have you here 🤘🏼

The only thing I'm not entirely convinced about is the sleeve, other than that looks excellent & I'm really looking forward to getting her!

Had the same problems standing Scarlett and Helix🫤. Good review, appreciate the detail and addition of section markers.
