Lacey is back in Flyleaf. The new singer ended up leaving because she never felt like she was part of the band, and Lacey ended up rejoining November 7th of last year.

I know this song is about Christian stuff, but as you two were saying, they're versatile enough that I can hear the lyrics and clearly glean a totally different interpretation. The "you sink into my clothes, this invasion makes me feel worthless, hopeless, sick" line speaks to my experience with sexual assault. It helps to be able to scream about that kinda stuff, ya know? Lol

I think that was what I always liked about Flyleaf(and honestly the few other chirstian rock bands that manage to do a similar thing) they keep their lyrics open ended enough that it doesn't need to be interperated with the religious undertone. You can connect to it regardless. I always held this song as a teenager as an interpretation of how my mental health felt and the rage at not being able to express what I meant about it
3:47 Lacey re-joined Flyleaf in the fall, at least touring. Not sure if they are writing new music or not.

no, as for Lacey doing new music, she is working on a second solo-band album, which she's released 3 singles off of it so far. BUT she is going on a small tour, front Flyleaf again for the first time since she's left..but its not official, at least not now. ( although it could very well lead to it being official somewhere down the line )

Just so you're aware, Lacey ( a few years after leaving Flyleaf ) she started playing music again with her own separate band with her husband Josh on lead guitar. they released a whole hard rock album called 'Life Screams' and you can tell she was/is the heart and soul of Flyleaf. recently, she's currently working on a second album and has released 3 tracks so far and currently is going on tour with Flyleaf, fronting the band again for the first time since she left. ( she hasn't said that she's officially back with the band, that's just a rumor of fans hoping, but she IS touring and fronting Flyleaf on this tour. it COULD very well lead to her eventually, but right now its not official due to her not wanting to part from her sons, especially since her youngest is a toddler....but maybe in the future, it could be a thing )

To this day Lacey Sturm is still my absolutely favorite female vocalist ever! Her voice is on that level that I don't know, it's like, her voice touches my soul and leaves me stunned. She doesn't do all that warbling crap most singers do. She does it RIGHT!

The acoustic version of this song is amazing. Also it ,in my opinion, changes the whole aesthetic of the song. Fully Alive is amazing but also Cassie is amazing. But in the end you cant go wrong with Flyleaf.

Flyleaf helped me through dark times in my life during the 90's.. I've seen Lacey and Flyleaf 4 times and I felt weightlessness and felt like she was singing straight to my heart and soul.

Lacey is back! She's been back since late 2022. They are doing several festivals and you can obtain tickets now. They're the whole original band but going by the name "FLYLEAF with Lacey Sturm" and are playing several festivals. Show coming up here in New Jersey Atlantic City May 6th! 🤘

i'll never forget seeing them live. I think it was Family Values Tour like 07 or so but seeing Lacey casually climbing up a double stack of amps during an instrumental breakdown. And then jumping off what had to be a 12+ foot drop straight into singing without missing a beat.
also shes like sub 5 foot which just makes it even more metal
so stoked to finally see them for the first time this summer. have always been a fan.

I met these kids in Temple Texas when they were still Passerby. They played at my church youth group several times when I was the youth pastor. Amazing people. Nothing but the best to Flyleaf.

I saw Flyleaf live in Stockholm Sweden YEARS ago, they were opening for Korn.. They were amazing live, and her voice were CRAZY
Love this song. I was first exposed to her scream when this song was used in the soundtrack for the movie Live Free or Die Hard, and I was instantly hooked. Great reaction video.

This video made me go back and rewatch the Jinjer-Pisces reaction you guys did. It was the video that introduced me to your channel. And it's funny because in that video the first time you hear Tatianna, your very first reference is to her reminding you of Lacey.
Met the band right before they blew up. One of my favorite music experiences ever. Such a great group of people, literally made you feel like an old friend.
“Can you imagine her now?” Don’t have to. Listen to her solo album, specifically The Decree. More screams, more power, more absolutely gut-wrenching melody.
I would suggest to keep reacting to the singles off of this album first for Eric to listen to. Like, Fully Alive, Cassie (Is about school shootings) Sorrow, even some non-single songs. The whole album is amazing. Their 2nd album, Memento Mori, is also amazing. There you can appreciate their mature sound starting to evolve.

Despite the fact this song was so popular it’s still so underrated her voice is my favorite of all our early 2000s female rock singers. I’m glad you pointed out that it’s Christian but not worship music. My wife likes worship music but I can’t stand it cause it’s just soooo boring. This song has depth and you can relate even if, like me you aren’t a Christian.
I was a young teen and getting into Wicca and actively trying to get out of CCD on Saturdays when this came out, and even I didn't know it was Christian-based until I was adult-years-old😂
I remember getting a mixed artist demo CD w/ ully Alive on it, and loved them ever since! They were never a main listen, but always on my playlists!
This song was featured in Live Free or Die Hard, the video was playing in the hacker scene in the background. Loved it the moment I heard it, Lacy is so dynamic. Thanks for reminding me.

Have had the pleasure of seeing them live a couple times at the sonshine fesival. Got to talk to lacey one on one because she just happened to be at their merch table when i was walking by. She's a great person!

This was such a throwback for me. I got to see flyleaf a couple of times at various festivals back in the day, and even to this day Laceys voice has such a beautifully haunting sound to it that I love.
I love Flyleaf! I went to college with some of them, back when they were called Passerby. They are amazing people! Super fun to hang around. I look forward to seeing Lacey again when she comes through town next!

I found out about Flyleaf by accident. I went to this concert in St. Louis back in 2006 called Sno-Core. Halestorm and Flyleaf opened for Shinedown and Seether. Lizzy and Lacy were both amazing, and I bought both bands' CDs right then and there. Those 2 girls' voices are just insane to hear in person. 🤘
Hell yes. I'm so excited about this. Flyleaf and Lacey Sturm solo stuff is amazing. Should definitely react to more. She's one of the reasons for female screamers and a big influence. She is still very active, has multiple solo albums which are amazing and imo better than most Flyleaf. It's insane how good she is and still has a solid following. I’m from Austin and remember seeing the band Passerby (Fly Leaf before they changed the name to fly leaf) circa 2002-2004ish. My friend was in a band that played a couple shows locally(between Austin and Waco during that time)

one of the first female lead band i saw at 06-09 at the buzz bake sale was lacy. the crowd i went with we had different bands we wanted to see & while waiting for my artists in the lineup. just like that hiphop dude traveling from Miami to west palm they choose not to play her music to surprise me ,so when it was there turn to perform.
there was an Immediate OH SHIT ! whats even crazy its difficult for bands to sound like there album especially the vocals.....i get chills just remembering how her scream wreck my rib cage XD !
I'v seen alot of bands but when it comes to past line ups Fly Leaf earn there spot every time, it sucks alot of people wont get to experience them together like before.
Man I haven’t listen to them in forever. I literally saw the CD case on the bookshelf the other day amongst the stack of papers. I pulled it out and it still had the CD in it. And it wasn’t horribly scratched astoundingly. Now I got to go listen to these in real time!
I remember when this was getting a lot of radio play the so called rock station were I’m at was actually editing out her initial screams in the song.

Flyleaf was the first band with any screaming that I got into. I heard this song on the local hard rock radio station. By the way, this song actually came out in 2005, so about 18 years ago.

I met Flyleaf years ago at a concert at a bar in Little Rock, Arkansas. They were there with The Showdown. Both bands were great but Flyleaf were more humble and down to Earth. I went outside after a moshpit formed right beside me during The Showdowns' set and someone fell onto the side of my knee. Flyleaf was just hanging out resting from their performance. I shook hands and talked to them for a few minutes. Most of them were small in stature but their hearts were as big as giants, genuinely warm and compassionate. I met The Showdown later but they weren't as approachable. I was even wearing a band shirt of one of their albums. Flyleaf definitely won me over that day as truer examples of ambassadors for Christ. Just my impressions.
