I think that’s what makes “Art”. It’s something that can’t be replicated, even by the artists. And musically, especially with rock, it happens at their worse. I always found it ironic, too.
I feel like metal heads telling their friends about the slit your throat line, is the equivalent of a lord of the rings man telling people that Vigo broke his foot when he kicked the helmet.
This was definitely his best screaming. First two albums are amazing. Also it was Ross Robinson on the first two albums. Its really a damn shame they didn't stick with him. He brought something out of Corey and Johnathan Davis that is just raw emotion. Yeah Corey's screams on those first two albums is literally just screaming as hard and loud as you can. Like if you were falling of a building kind of scream. Not great for your voice but sounds amazing.
It’s so refreshing seeing someone like Eric, who is into rap/hip-hop, be receptive of ‘our’ music, and open to it being different, translating it now to back when it came out etc etc, instead of just shitting on it like most do. Respect just for simply being open minded
As someone who was bullied either during my freshmen or sophomore years of high school, Slipknot helped me find out who I wanted to be during the rest of high school. When No Hope Is Gone came out it became my first official Slipknot album and then after that I became a maggot for life. (Pretty obvious by my profile picture =P)
Yeah, Left Behind is one of my favorites from that album! It’s a mix of the riffs and drums in the beginning and tags, the video they shot with it (because visually, it’s something else), and full lyrics and chorus. I’d love to see you guys “hip-hop reacts” to the video! I just found you guys, btw! Been watching Bloodywood reactions for the past month and stumbled across your channel. Love It!!
Technically speaking, what Corey is doing is more closely related to spoken word poetry because it's in a tone that sounds like singing, but it toes the line between actually speaking, rapping, and singing because ultimately all rap evolved from spoken word poetry.
YES, more SlipKnot! Eric will love so many of their songs. I am so stoked that you guys are getting into some SlipKnot, one of my favourite bands. You need to run Eric through Volume 3. You see all of Corey's range. Iowa is a beast of an album but I understand how some people cannot listen to it, but to watch them evolve is amazing.
More Slipknot PLEASE!!. Spit it out(live version), Left Behind, Duality, anything really as they are my favorite band and you are my favorite reactors. Much love fellas.
I love all the small sounds underneath the main beat and riffs you get out of Slipknot that you don’t normally get out of most small groups. Killer song, great reaction.
I started from the beginning. I was 28 at the time. I played self titled 1st Slipknot album. Over and over again. Played it so much I had to buy it again cause the first one was scratched from hell. I love Iowa and the subliminal verses. I truly LOVE SLIPKNOT!!!! I regret not seeing them in concert. I don’t do well with crowds. Love you guys!! Check out Left Behind great song from Iowa🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟
I had seen them in concert twice before this album came out. I went to an album release party to buy this CD. I have the original first CD that included the song Purity.
That's awesome. I had seen em at Ozzfest. Had never heard of them before that night, I think they performed at like 3pm ... cause they were basically unknown. I had that album with purity on it. My mom burned it cause of the goat cover. 😢
I am glad you've discovered the material that moulded my teenage years. Seeing titled hip-hop head. I'd highly suggest Liberate from self titled. It has some serious rapping. Also as others suggested Left Behind, Before I forger, Opium of the People, Wait and Bleed, Skin Ticket, Purity, Scissors , Gently for the deep dive of the dark and horrour-esque vibes.
I have Iowa in my car and listen to it every day. For me it started with the first album and kept going. It’s good music to chill to or to hype up with and jam with
Every member of Slipknot changed their masks every album cycle but both guitarist Mick Thomson and Jim Root masks don’t changed usually it’s minor changes. Their are nine members of slipknot starting with number 0-8 and their they show their numbers on their jumpsuits. Lead Vocalist Cory Taylor #8, Lead/Rhythm guitarist Jim Root #4, Lead/Rhythm guitarist Mick Thomson #7, Bassist Paul Gray #2 1972-2010, Paul Gray passed away on May 24th of 2010 he was only 38 years old. Paul Gray plays bass guitar on the first four slipknot albums. Drums Joey Jordison #1 1975-2021 Joey Passed away on July 26th 2021 passed away in his sleep is was only 46 years old, Joey plays drums on the first four slipknot albums, Joey left slipknot in 2013 due to a medical issue suffering from acute transverse myelitis. Its symptoms started in 2010 while touring with his other band Murderdolls, but the disease was diagnosed long after. This progressed to the loss use of his left leg. The neurological disease had temporarily cost him the use of his legs and caused him to be unable to play the drums before rehabilitation. He recovered with the aid of medical help and physical therapy. Percussionist and backing vocalist Chris Fehn #3 Chris left the band in 2019, Chris’s mask has a long nose like Pinocchio. Percussionist/backing vocalist Shawn Crahan #6 A.K.A. Clown because he wears a clown mask. Sampler/synthesizer and keyboardist Craig Jones #5 Craig mask is black with long needles pointing out if it. Craig never talks, he doesn’t talk to media/interviews, he even doesn’t talk to other members of the band. Vocalist Cory Taylor said in a interview the reason why Craig doesn’t talk is because that who he is, a guy that can speak but doesn’t, Cory Taylor also said this when Craig does talk it’s scary because he will be right behind you and you don’t even know he’s their and Cory said when Craig speaks you listen and the band gave him the nickname the quiet one. DJ/Turntables Sid Wilson #0. New Slipknot Members are new bassist Alessandro Venturella nickname V-man he replaced Paul Grey on bass Alessandro joined the band in 2014 on Slipknot 5th album .5 the Gray chapter. New drummer Jay Weinberg replaced drummer Joey Jordison, Jay Weinberg Joined the band in 2014 also on the band 5th album. Michael Plaff nickname Tortilla man because his mask looks like a melted/burn tortilla he replaced Chris Fehn on Percussion and backing vocals, Michael Plaff joined the band in 2019 on the band’s 6th album we are not your kind. The three new Slipknot members don’t have numbers.
I’ve been a maggot since day one the band came out. A series would be amazing. There’s so many songs he needs to hear. Their first single is what he needs to here too. Fun fact: the band felt that Iowa was their worst album and album 3 next. But I love them all personally.
Ive been a HUGE fan since 99 when I was a kid. I was able to see them in 04 at 16 for my first show. It was post Iowa and Vol 3 was coming out soon. I got to hear The Blister Exists before it came out and i tell ya.. those drums in person are literally THE BEST. Im not sure if you guys have done it yet ( ill go look after I comment) , but Spit it Out would be a great one :) P.S I may or may not have choked on my water listening to the end 🤣
ALL HAIL THE KNOT!!! Yes give me more. I would love to see how Eric reacts to the catalog of Slipknot. And seeing how each album is it's own personal monster, with its own feel and soal.
One thing that also affected Corey’s sound in the early albums - he was a heavy cigarette smoker , he quit smoking around the 3rd/4th album and it did change his voice. I’ve been told he was really bad during the Iowa album
It is so weird to me hearing of people getting into Slipknot later in their career. I have the self titled album with the track Purity on it. First time I saw them live was second stage at Ozfest in either ’98 or ‘99. I went to the Iowa album release party at Hastings when this came out. I feel old.
I did the same thing found them through Volume 3 and went backwards. They are my my number 1 favorite band. Should let him listen to Eeyore next would like to see his take on that one. Lol.
This song in particular along with people=shit really personify this whole album to me. It’s so fucking dark. I was 15 when it came out and this was basically the soundtrack to me being a teenager. People thought I was gonna shoot up the school and it’s probably because of this album…. But it helped me through some angry times.
I spent all 5 hours of my train home today checking out your twenty one pilots and then I find out you’re also doing Slipknot? So first my past and now my current obsession?? I would absolutely looooove more Slipknot and it does not bother me at all that Kyle already knows them!
Have Eric watch Spit It Out Live at Download 2009. Should be interesting especially when he sees what Joey does. It is a great performance. Oh and Nero Forte.
Yall gotta check out Everything Ends by Slipknot. It is the type of song you wanna run through a field of daisies through. PS; I could be wrong but I think the song about said bully from school, was a song called Eeyore
Iowa is unironically my favorite album of all time. Every song sounds similar, but is completely different, and that’s why I love slipknot. Iowa is kinda like a waffle cone, and the songs are the different flavors of ice cream.
The fact that they got commercially succesful after self-titled and then took this left-turn to the dark and heavy side instead of catering to the "wait and bleed" succes was a major middlefinger to the industry and a power move, looking back
Since he's already reacted to Snuff, I'd LOVE to see his reaction to the live acoustic Snuff. HOT TAKE: I actually think it's way more powerful and a lot better than the entire band performing it. Would love to see it!
IOWA, among metalheads, is largely considered one of those very rare PERFECT albums. And it's ironic that they were all at their worst personally.
I think that’s what makes “Art”. It’s something that can’t be replicated, even by the artists. And musically, especially with rock, it happens at their worse. I always found it ironic, too.
Some of the best art comes from pain
I mean look at Gunz n roses
@@ZackaryPlumleyreally lol
YES PLEASE do more Slipknot! I wohld love a whole series of him watching Slipknot! As well as Caskets!
Iowa is actually THE slipknot album almost everybody wants back, style wise. It's by miles their best record
Yes
Personally i like their self titled album the best.
@@Odd1006 another very solid choice. It's close between these 2, but Iowa is a little bit at the top, for me.
@@JohnDoe-xr8lr both fire as fuck. i would say iowa is better, but self titled is their second best album
It’s impossible to replicate and people need to realize that’s why they won’t ever try to
Corey no longer screams like this simply because of the amount of damage it was doing to his throat.
Honestly, his screams are even better now
his voice have depth today compared to back then
To bad tbh. Wish that scream could have been safe
Also, not drinking and smoking has changed how he sings as well
@@Zehtgorat listen to the end so far and tell me that.
Kyle’s grin during the buildup at the start is the exact same face I was making 😂
Permanent stank face 😂

His screams were great but I'd say his WANYK screams were the best. They were so controlled.
Screams are amazing but if he kept doing them like this he’d be mute by ahig
Especially live
Not enough people reacting to "Purity" would love to see it.
My absolute favourite Slipknot song!!! Awesome choice!!! Love the live version on their DVD Disasterpieces!
MORE SLIPKNOT PLEASE, I've been listening to them since their first album dropped.
It’s so refreshing seeing someone like Eric, who is into rap/hip-hop, be receptive of ‘our’ music, and open to it being different, translating it now to back when it came out etc etc, instead of just shitting on it like most do. Respect just for simply being open minded

All hope is gone dude
@@georgebettaney5855 Shit, that's what I meant.
Shoulda done the live performance of this from the disasterpieces dvd (London 2002). Absolutely more Slipknot. 🤘

The "oOoOoOo"s and the giggle make me so happy!!! Give us more Slipknot please!!!!! \m/
Best metal album EVER made..Iowa cant be topped man!! Masterpiece
Agreed. Most brutal album ever made
best slipknot album but not best metal album imo but is up there for sure.
I didnt listen to Iowa yet cause I just started to listen to metal so I cant say but Toxicity by System Of A Down is goated album

@@justinkendell301 Try listening to At the Gates -Slaughter of the soul album. If you like Iowa I feel you might enjoy that one as well.

Corey's lyrics helped me survive high school. Literally survive. I was bullied frim 9am;4pm in London, UK from 11-15
