Haha that genuine surprise at alissa's vocals. Rock vocalist are so underrated for their range. It's amazing at times
Back when she was in The Agonist... was the days
You should react to Kamelot from the Roy Khan era, especially the “Haunting (Somewhere In Time) ft Simone Simons”. I bet you will LOVE it.
Absolutely!
Yep, I still like Kamelot after Roy but I just like more the older stuff. Center of the Universe, March of the Mephisto, basically everything...
@@themaun Same... god I miss Roy ;-;
I agree on the first part of your comment, but there are so many better songs than "The Haunting" to suggest.
@@MadCatAttack123 He's back with a band called Conception
Yes, I love this band. Other great songs from Kamelot are "Ghost Opera", “Haunting (Somewhere In Time)”, "Sacrimony (Angel Of Afterlife)" and "Phantom Divine (Shadow Empire)".
James Brisnehan Sacrimony is awesome! Ravenlight off their new album is sweet too
Oh yeah, I also second The Haunting ft. Simone Simons from Epica! Another good recommendation would be the song Forever.
If you love Alyssa's clean vocals, check out The Agonist when Alyssa was their front woman, she did some clean singing there.
She's actually doing some cleans on Arch Enemy music too now
I met her at "Thank your pain" song and I love the way she change her vocals
For the best of their previous vocalist, the god himself, Roy Khan, there is Elizabeth (I, II, & III) from the One Cold Winter's Night live concert recording.
Roy was trying the god .... Too bad he had to left... Im thankful i was able to catch them live when he was still part of the group
All kind of feelings in a single song, that's the power of metal 🤘 😅
Pls more, as a crazy Kpop fan who has been raised hearing Kamelot, this is amazing! They were so good live too
When they started out Kamelot made medieval themed music, but over the years they switched lyrical themes and musical style gradually to get to the sound they have now.
The keyboardist is married to Simone Simons from Epica 😁 Aaaand Epica took their name as a tribute to Kamelot's same titled album. I second to Kamelot - Forever (live at Oslo).
Kamelot is one of my favorite bands, they have many amazing songs! Great reaction! Definitely do more!
The March of Mephisto remains Kamelot's battle hymn, IMO.
I watched just to see your reaction to clear Alissa vocals. Everyone is so surprised by it. Killer song, great video. Thanks GiddyKitty hope you power is now on.
I love Kamelot with both Roy and Tommy, but that Album "Haven", it's a masterpiece.
Prior to Arch Enemy Alissa was in a band called the Agonist. She did hash vocals and lots of clean singing as well. Check out Agonist-business suits and combat boots but also Kamelot-The haunting ft. Simone Simons(Epica)
Yeah. She really wasted her clean vocal capabilities when she betrayed The Agonist.
That moment you forgot to turn the volume down😂,
As usual 😍😍😙❤
Yay, thank you for reacting to this, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
The singer is Tommy Karevik. He's from Sweden, but Kamelot was formed in Tampa, Florida. The keyboardist is Oliver Palotai. He is married to Simone Simons from Epica.
And yeah, Alissa has great cleans too. She usually doesn't use them in Arch Enemy, but she did in her former band, The Agonist.
The music video is actually a sequel to the music video for the song "Insomnia".
If you want more Kamelot, check out "Phantom Divine (ft. Lauren Hart of Once Human)" and "Sacrimony (Angel of Afterlife)" which also features Alissa from Arch Enemy and Elize Ryd from Amaranthe. In fact, they just released a live version of "Sacrimony (Angel of Afterlife)" a few days ago and it's really good.
The pianist of the Kamelot is the husband of the singer of the band epica (Simone Simons)
Hi, I'm a kpop fan (EXO-L) and metalhead, I grew up with kamelot for almost 10 years, I don't know how to explain that someone's reaction to their music for the first time makes me really happy. 💙
By the way, the female singer is a guest, Alyssa , the current singer of Arch Enemy. When she was in the Agonist she was using her clear vocals a lot more.
First for me hearing Kamelot. Sound kewl.
Kamelot is my favorite band since my childhood, so it is wonderful to see people getting to know them. Btw, I am liking this video because you are beautiful :P
Uffff, you should listen to kamelot with the voice of Roy Khan, it's quite an experience!!!! Next: Kamelot-Forever (live)
Kamelot songs I recommend
Anything
Literally any song
Anything from the fourth legacy
Karma
Momento Mori
March of mephisto
Temples of gold
The zodiac
Elizabeth parts 1 2 & 3
Soul society
But anything works
ANYTHING
soul society, veritas, sacrimony and when the lights are down are some of my favs and i am so happy with tommy, he keeps the spirit of khan alive. the man left a legacy and tommy is doing it proud
Listen to more of them! I am happy to see a Kpop Fan React to this, hopefully I see Amaranthe and more Kamelot on your lists!
Nice react 👍
That's Kamelot With Tommy Karevik on vocals, very great singer but Roy Khan is just LEGEND. Try "The haunting (Somewhere in time) Ft. Simone Simmons.
Wrong...
Great Amazing vocals from both 💀🦂💀
Thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much for this! I have been waiting for this! The videos to "Phantom Divine" and "Insomnia" make a story which includes this one! Maybe they are worth a reaction video each too!? ... I am very happy that you loved this! I knew Alissa's clean vocals are good - her Nightwish covers and her participation in the Denver Miracle (on YT as a video called the "Denver Debacle")!!! Stay safe! Be well!
Kamelot is by far my favorite band, although I found out about them only through Tommy's vocals. If you want to understand the story behind this video, you need to react to Insomnia, the video that this song is a sequel to. Anything off the albums Karma, The Black Halo, Silverthorn, and Haven are amazing, and they are also considered symphonic/power metal as well, so I'm not surprised you would like them
Oh yeah, please more kamelot! march of Mephisto, the haunting, veil of elysium, insomnia, when the lights are down, necropolis - are all beautiful songs, you’ll definitely enjoy them😉
in 2010 I was searching for snow by RHCP on UA-cam, snow by Kamelot popped up best mistake I've ever made I was a fan since then
Great song
The cutest girl on UA-cam reacts to kamelot!!! I just completely stopped everything that I was doing
You should check out "Mindfall Remedy" or "Phantom Divine" by Kamelot.
Roy Khan era Kamelot was a lot more medieval and Arthurian themed! Like “The Shadow of Uther”
Epica is their best album a freaking masterpiece
Yes finally metal is becoming popular, kamelot is AWESOME
Listen to "Karma"! It's a more traditional power metal song from their early years, but you definitely can hear their distinct sound and Khan's fantastic voice. :D
Kamelot and NIghtwish.. LIke .. i never get enough of them :) And yeah .. i like your reactions .. :)
Surprised by way guitar and keyboards blend in solo.
Dream Theater and Symphony X have both joined the conversation.
listen to her old The Agonist stuff, more clean
why did I expect that he will growl? haha turns out its not, but its great! very expressive, its like a theatrical performance! ♥️ really awesome song!
also I relate to the summer thing, its melting hot as well! 🤣 love your video as always, Rana! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮
If you liked kamelot, you should react to two of their greatest songs: forever and ghost opera. Those are incredibly awesome
FYI the sci-fi story in the video follows on from this 'KAMELOT - Insomnia (Official Video)'
"don't stay with a liar" that's good advice
The Beginning of the End with Kane Roberts, Alice Cooper and Alyssa. Her clean vocals are really good in that.
She did use her clear vocals way more back when she was with The Agonist. Panophobia and Thank you Pain would be great for that to check out. Also she made a song with Tarja Turunen (Ex-Nightwish) - Demons in You. Allissa is basically forced to leave hjer clean vocals because the Arch Enemy fanbase isnt used to it and they are around for a long time. But maybe they will get there at some point.
I don't hate the current vocal and I still enjoy listening to them.. but Roy Khan just sets the vocal standard too high for this band.
p.s: You might like “Haunting (Somewhere In Time) ft Simone Simons” but react to "Ghost Opera" or "March of Mephisto" or just any songs from the Roy Khan's era.
Beautiful you ❤️❤️
Great choise Kamelot!!!
Have a nice week :3
Send you a virtual hug.
You must check "Phantom Divine" Live from the new DVD concert "I am the Empire"... And from the same concert I recommend you "Sacrimony"
About the video (Very brief, don't kill me): For some time now Kamelot began to introduce a literary / theatrical element to it's albums that tells a story when you put all the songs together (or some, in the case of Elizabeth). From the arrival of Tommy (this vocalist) the videos were used to give "additional" information about the story, A Novelish/movieish kind of thing.
So, in this plot line we have this post apocalyptical world and a Power struggle. The "hero" (Tommy) gathered people to establish his resistance (the two girls at the beginning), convinced them to help his cause with ... Let's say "select information" (lies) And they are about to have the great battle against the regime, which is the end.
So, in the end. Although the song could be considered a criticism of the media and the "select" information by itself, at this point in the "plot" it is the protagonist's monologue in which he reflects on how he is so close to completing his goals but, for make this, he somehow became the same thing he wants to destroy (I know, horrible summary). And the "open final" is because this album has a secuel.
As most people say, your next should be The Haunting, from the Roy Khan era, also check Center of the Universe, Soul society and Forever. And from the current formation with Tommy Karevik (this band made the awesome work to find a new singer with very similar voice) check Sacrimony (featuring also Alissa White-Gluz and Amaranth's Elize Ryd) and Veil of Elysium.
...and if you want to hear more guitar-keyboard duels in the solos, check for Rhapsody and Sonata Arctica
You are an angel.
First time i hear Alissa clean vocals :p That's good!
The Haunting;
The Human Stain;
Ghost Opera;
Sacrimony;
Rule the World;
The Great Pandemonium;
Some nice songs with nice videoclips from kamelot;
Also any live song from "One Cold Winter's Night 2006" Dvd would be awesome,
Maybe Abandoned, or, Center of the Universe.
Alyssa did a clean duet song with Charlotte Wessels of Dutch metal band Delain. Check out Charlotte Wessels and Alyssa White-Gluz - Lizzie
If u want Alissa with clean vocals, u have to check out "the agonist - panophobia"
If you like allissa's clean voice, you might listen her in "the agonist" the song "bussines suit and combat buts"
Great reaction! I love Kamelot and this song is fabulous. Tommy has a lot of inspiration from musicals, hence him being "theatrical" :) For another superb symphonic metal band, I'd suggest Rhapsody (later known as Rhapsody of Fire). Try Emerald Sword or Dawn of Victory, epic classics from the dawn of Symphonic metal.
Actually this song is part of an amazing and little bit confusing album called Haven that tells the story of a chosen one(the girl that Tommy Karevik, the singer held in the video) in an matrix like world... She had to be taken out of the Dreamworld by the liar that cheated on her to make her out of the simulation, in this song she awakens and faces reality, that's why the song is called "liar liar"
I believe this medieval-ish sort of influence was there on the very early albums, but mostly in the lyrics not the music itself.
This was actually the first time I heard Alissa's clean vocals.
Kamelot love 🖤 kpop love ❤ 👏👏
It's vey interesting because I'm a metalfan, and the last month I heard K-pop bands, and my reactions are similar like yours! Jajaja
This was the first metal song I ever heard have become a metal head since
i love alyssa joined em on this
Kamalot is Amazing💀🦂💀
The Roy Khan's era is the beast!
For me Kamelot is over after Roy Khan left
Reilly....
Wow, finally! I've suggested Kamelot's "Wander" once for the romantic vibe. They sure made a lot of GREAT songs.
For the bittersweetness I'd suggest "Haunting (Somewhere in Time)", "Abandoned", "Forever" and "Love you to death".
For epicness and amazement (best versions are 2006 live ones with Roy Khan) : "Karma", "Center of the Universe", "Elizabeth", "Edge of Paradise". Plus, "Ghost Opera", "Nights of Arabia".
Soulful ballads: "Don't you cry", "Anthem".
I guess that's it to begin with. Remember, Kamelot is an ocean of feelings and style.
The song "Thank You Pain" by The Agonist is a debate with clean Alissa vs demon Alissa.
Kamelot is the greatest! Forever, and Wings of Despair are my favorite tracks by them. You literally can’t go wrong with anything they do however. Very few bands set themselves apart from every other band quite like them. I’m glad you enjoyed the song!
aliza's clean vocals are underutilized by arch enemy. She actually used to do a lot of clean vocal singing back when she was in the agonist.
Gotta do "The Haunting" with Simone Simons and the original singer Roy Kahn. Also, I'd recommend "The Phantom Divine w/ Lauren Hart.
Great song glad you enjoyed it. I think you would enjoy Dark Sarah - Dance with the Dragon.
As far as Kamelot goes I'd like to recommend Phantom Divine
You should check out Seventh Wonder if you want to see more of Tommy Karevik!!
I like to read it as "Came A Lot"
Couldn't agree more with some of the comments here.
Definitely give the following songs a listen (whether you do a reaction to them or not), all by Kamelot, some with Tommy (the singer from "Liar Liar", and some with Roy)
"Sacrimony (Angel of Afterlife)" ( ua-cam.com/video/1WvWbUgCcJw/v-deo.html )
"Ghost Opera" ( ua-cam.com/video/J-TUufvK0gU/v-deo.html )
"Under Grey Skies" ( ua-cam.com/video/e4b1SkQfgUA/v-deo.html )
"The Haunting (Somewhere in Time)" ( ua-cam.com/video/RE7_Zp0lX1c/v-deo.html )
"Abandoned" ( ua-cam.com/video/3qLXHWqd1C8/v-deo.html )
I would like to recommend Ayreon - The Day That The World Breaks down.
This project by Arjen Anthony Lucassen features more incredible singers and musicians than I can sum up and still remain credible. This song is a nice intro, it will probably leave you wondering how time flew by so quickly.
Seeing as it is prog rock opera, when you discover a character in a song that you like, it is pretty much guaranteed they have done more songs in many different styles to fit emotions that go with the worldbuilding and perspective of that character on what's happening.
I'd say that Ayreon is truly excellent when it comes to the language of sound. If you enjoy audio books, nothing else even comes anywhere close, especially if you like sci fi. Listen to an album in track order (the official lyrics videos are something special too), and be transported into a marvel-esque universe with deep ideas and emotions. Also perfect to close your eyes to and dream away, let the instruments build a world in your mind with a rich history, an interesting present, and lots of spoilers.
Music Teacher Reacts
Beautiful girl and nice reacción for a great song but I have ti Say..
The Black Halo and Epica are The Best albums for all time.
Kamelot with Roy Khan... No words.
Songs like Soul Society, Farewell, On The Edge Of Paradice, Snow, Wander, Serenade, Memento Mori, Moonlight... All Masterpieces!!
You should do tour of the village house next time you go back to the city. I like kamelot's song Forever, a happy uplifting number
React to Kamelot's Abandoned from One Cold Winter's night... Roy Khan truly is the best singer ever!!
React to Mystica Girls, they sing mostly in spanish, but I think you are going to love them, try listening to Gates of Hell, Viejos Tiempos or Abre bien los ojos
Great reaction. Check March of Mephisto of Kamelot, with the previous singer Roy Khan. And by the way I just dicovered we are compatriots (I think 🤔)
Try Kamelot- Abandoned. It's with the old vocalist, Roy Khan.
I like your reactions.... You should react to cry for the moon by epica!! 🤟🏻 Keep going girl!
Finally my favorite cat react to one of my favourite band
Alissa did a lot more clean vocals with The Agonist. I'd recommend either "Waiting Out The Winter" or "Birds Elope With The Sun".
I like when there is a little bit of growling but whole song is usually to much for me ;) Hope to see some more Kamelot, Tommy is second singer, previously there was Roy Khan - both have great voices and both are unbelievable live :)
Elizabeth trilogy live with roy khan as singer. its a banger
Check out "a reason to believe" by Arch Enemy for more clean vocals from her.
Of you like Kamelot please listen The Haunting of the Roy Era is my favorite song.
Well Kamelot is really good. I recommend it
After listening to you talk about Alissa........you have to listen to The Agonist early stuff.........very beautiful vocals.
Kamelot - Dont you cry
Nice, I love this song! If I want to send you a pack, how can I do? (from other country)
YOU SHOULD LISTEN THE HAUNTING - KAMELOT (LIVE 2006 NORWAY)
More Power Metal please
I think you would like Stratovarius Eagleheart
You should listen to Roy Kahn Era of Kamelot.... Listen to The Haunting.... Prepare to get goosebumps......
Check out the singers other band Seventh wonder. He sings so completely differently
Never can get enough of Alyssa's cleans...
Shall we move on to more serious things?
Let's see how you react to this great song on link below:
