I was incredibly blessed to hear Alissa's insane vocals live over a decade ago alongside Shadows Fall, Dragonforce, Trivium & Machine Head. Which was possibly the most epic gig I've ever been to, (in part because after they performed we bumped into Herman Li at the bar and my friend gave him a piggy back when we returned to the crowd!) and I can still remember how powerful her voice was!
That's one of the few songs with AE Alyssa does clean vocals. Normally she does incredible growls and screams, like in "House of mirrors" or "Deceiver, deceiver". She has been hand-picked by the former vocalist Angela Gossow, who is now managing the band and been a role model for female metal vocalists during her active time. Sometimes you really wander what Michael was thinking all those years. Two bands I was super pumped for that put on an amazing show and I left suddenly obsessed with the band I hadn't even heard of and didn't go to see. Now one of my favorite bands. Alissa does a lot of collaborations with other bands. You would probably enjoy her collaboration with Nita Strauss, The Wolf you Feed. Nita is one of the best guitarists out there and adding Alissa's beautiful harsh and clean vocals makes for an epic song. On of my favorites is her collaboration with Powerwolf on the song Demon's are a Girls Best Friend. All harsh vocals but the video is super cool with great costumes and storytelling.
