- After creating and Uploading this video I was told the beginning of the story.
"how it all started... I just came to a complete stop lane split and position my bike in front of him... and I guess he didn't like that and tried to hit me with his car, so I got mad and smacked his mirror (no damages) and I dip, and that's where the chase started"
According to the bikers story, it still began with road rage... Both parties are at fault, but his actions didn't warrant the type of assault he endured.

I am getting a lot of comments saying "YOU CAN'T JUST KILL HIM CAUSE (insert bullshit here)" and you're wrong. The driver of the car attempted to hit and kill the rider on SEVERAL occasions with his vehicle. This in America is known as Attempted Murder... In some cases it could be considered Assault with a Deadly Weapon, but the amount of aggression the driver showed makes this Attempt of Murder. In America, (I will keep saying 'In America' because many of you questioning this are not from America) you have the right to meet deadly force with deadly force. I.E. Defend yourself and your well being in any means necessary. This makes the rider fleeing through traffic at insane speeds legal. This would also make busting a cap in this dudes forehead completely completely justified as well! If you don't believe that the car could have been used to run over and kill the rider, you need to reevaluate your life. Firearms are allowed in America to protect yourself, and this is one of those situations where the kill would have been justified.

Here is why you are also wrong... In America (ding ding) you are only authorized to fire your firearm at someone if you felt your life was endangered, and that the ONLY way out of the situation was to take someone else's life. MEANING: If you shoot a warning shot, his tires, or his engine, you are not shooting him; the threat! MEANING: He was not endangering your life. In turn you will be prosecuted for a series of weapons charges and probably attempted murder as well... For you to be able to draw your firearm you must have a sense of losing your life. You may not use a firearm as a tool of leverage... You may not use a firearm as a threatening statement. You may use your firearm ONLY to save your life or lives surrounding. AGAIN, you may not use warning shots or use it as a threat... Only to end the life of someone who is threatening yours. This is how the law is written in the USA... because Murica...

Again.... WRONG. As a firearm owner and carrier, my very last wish is to have to use that firearm... Its something I hope to NEVER happen. I've been put in situations where most men would probably have used their guns to shoot their way out. I'd like to think I have more sense than that because I don't have the aspirations of ending someones life. BUT! At the end of the day, I will go home alive... Even if that means someone else wont. Your life should be your number one priority (excluding kids and family or whatever) You only get one life, and I'll be damned if I let some jackoff make me an asphalt pancake without throwing a few through his door first. I refuse to let someone take my life when I could have prevented it. Even if that means I have to live with their blood on my hands. Your main goal in life is to fucking survive and I will not take shit like this sitting down. I will defend myself to the best of my abilities with whatever force I find necessary, and you can bet that goes triple for my family. My goal is not to make you fear me or pretend im some sort of expert, but is to wake you up. Do not sit idle by when someone is trying to run you off the road. Defend yourself! Do not go blindly into that light. I cannot believe some of the comments I am reading! "Its never okay to kill someone!" You couldn't be more wrong. Now we know what happened fully! Thanks to Roni for uploading the full story. Link for the 'beginning' portion in the description now... Basically what happened: Dude split traffic at a stop light (like all bikers should) despite it not being legal... The individual to his right, (fuckboy in red) doesn't like it and overtakes the biker aggressively almost hitting him. Biker takes a small swat at the side mirror of the driver (and doesn't even appear to make contact) and the driver of the car beings the hunt...
Now what I will say... Yes, the biker was technically in the wrong by splitting. But that is for law enforcement to address... And a cop even watched him split the traffic and didn't do anything. The individual driving the red car aggressively overtook the bike and almost hit him. That was not the correct move from the driver. Then the rider smacked the mirror of the driver; again putting the rider in the wrong. But at no point did any of this warrant the attempted murder that the driver of the red ford bestowed onto the rider. I still firmly believe what I said prior to the video revealing the cause of the aggression. And yes, I still very strongly believe that the rider had the right to take away the life of the driver... And here is why!

No, and neither is it acceptable to race through traffic doing 120+ mph headfirst into oncoming traffic. If the moron on the bike had killed one of those people (more than likely himself included) would you be defending his reckless driving? He started the whole situation and continued to escalate it, and then proceeded to put everyone around him in danger.

I've been watching biker commentary videos like yours for the past few days and I feel like I've learned quite a bit. not necessarily must about bikes but about fire arm laws and stuff like that. as a rural 17 year old I don't get the crazy traffic like people in urban or metropolitan areas but I have Considered moving to 2 wheels and I aspire to be as knowledgeable and as chill as you seem to be. thank you. and keep up the good work man.

No. I would have pulled out my firearm and let him know "Hey, you're about to get shot." That would not be illegal. You are justified in using your gun to protect yourself. Just the threat alone would protect you. If he still came after you, then I'd pop this piece of shit.

In short, the law is set up to where you may only draw your firearm on an individual who is threatening your life. The only reason you should ever draw your firearm is because you have made the conscious decision you must unfortunately end someone else's life in order to protect your own. You should never use a gun as a 'bargaining chip' and it should only be used in a last resort method.

Pulling your firearm isn't always meant to end lives. It's meant as an equalizer, a middle ground to stabilize a situation to either A. come to a common agreement on how to end said situation peacefully, or B. to end said life if said agreement cannot be met. I do agree with you, on some levels. But a firearm isn't always there to take lives when drawn. Many times has a gun been drawn, not shot, and the situation deterred. It's not as often as it being shot and ending the encounter that way.
He tried to hit you with your car... thats assault with a deadly weapon, lethal force would of been justified. I got chased 3 miles down US, 1 by a limo pulled in to a shell station where he followed me in. Got out and after he pushed me i pulled a knife, luckily didn't have to use it but still cop said it would of been justified.
The officer was correct. You would've walked away after the cops were done with their investigation (if the cops weren't douche bags). I've found that the presence of a weapon diffuses bullshit very quickly.

I'm glad you brought up the concept of carrying in this situation. That popped up in my head too. My notes on that:
Who started the situation matters a good deal and we dont know who started this.
The driver of the car seems to be the one who escalated the situation to lethal levels.
That sort of behaviour with the car definitly constitutes vehicular assault, which may be cause for shooting in self defense, more on that in a moment.
I like how you repeatedly bring up the escape scenarios and the stand your ground doctrine. While in public spaces, whether or not you might be able to apply stand your ground doctrine, I would recommend always opting for de-escalation. If you can escape, do so. Carrying a gun gives a bit of responsibility to protect life, and everyone has a right to life. Only when they give you no other choice should you act on it.
Vehicular assault in most states does not require physical contact. If someone is trying to ram you off the road, they have created a lethal situation. As a humane and good citizen, try to escape if you can, but otherwise, yeah, presenting a weapon (possibly not firing it) might have been a good option.

I just don't understand why the OP wasn't more aggressive in his riding. As Dan said, he could've easily wasted him. But then again, I do partially understand I guess, with all of the factors involved, such as his warped rotors. That would not be good to try to slow down with from a 140+ roll. And I can also understand if he didn't want to beat the shit out of the guy, or kill him if he was carrying a weapon. Some people have the morals that something like that would completely violate, and they wouldn't be able to live with themselves for doing such things. Just feel like it's worth mentioning that if you shoot a guy in the face, it's not the end of the story. A person is dead, and just because it was self defence doesn't mean there won't be a trial to prove it. Defending yourself with lethal force (even if justified) is much more than pulling the trigger and filling out a half-page report.
Lots of people seem to glorify the act of killing someone in self-defence and downplay the consequences for the person who defended themselves. Especially on a motorcycle which can outrun most cars, the necessity of using lethal force may be questioned and you WILL be brought to court. "I was scared to go faster on my bike" may not be a convincing argument as to why you decided to shoot the guy.
Even if you have no pity for the person assaulting you and you would have no remorse in killing them, save yourself the effort of justifying your actions in court and do everything you can to get out of that situation without using lethal force.

Unfortunately I have a gs500 so I wasn’t really able to get away from the guy chasing me with speed alone. I have a permit to carry in my state but until now I have not done so while on my bike. That’s gonna change. Are there any holsters you recommend for riding?

Dan, I think you nailed it when you say he's probably scared of the bike, and the fact that even under moderate braking, the front shakes like hell. I'll be he knows that once he applies those brakes hard going 150+, he's a dead man since those front brakes are both useless and it'd most likely send him flying off the bike.

Although I've technically been riding for 8 years now, I don't consider myself an experienced rider. Mostly because I ride mainly to commute, don't ride in the winter, and I ride extremely cautiously.
I sympathize with this guy. I'm shy about opening up on the throttle as well because I'm not confident that I could dodge another vehicle at those speeds in time, or if there was a pothole that would send you flying. Bad situation all around.

Last year I became the victim of road rage when three thugs started talking shit at me through their open window in a traffic jam and I proceeded to cut them off, then they followed me to my workplace, attacked me and broke my nose. Since then I've become a lot more aggressive and dominant while in traffic with my driving, whereas previously I was a very cautious driver.
Had a dude on my Sunday morning ride on backroads at 8am, without any road rage incident & no traffic, tail gate me at 80mph so close to my tail light, I couldn’t tap the brake without him running up my backside, I down shifted & powered up to abt 100mph with the guy still on my butt, I really thought he was gonna waste me until we hit a series of “S” curves that literally saved my butt, I could take them at a much faster speed on my Suzuki than he could in his dually pickup, after I put some air between us, I pulled over at the 1st gas station parking area & gave him a hardy 1 finger salute. Mr. Chicken didn’t have the cajones to pull in the lot, even after I motioned him over to discuss the safety aspects of his irresponsible behavior, I had 10 points to make. Your right abt packing, I never ride without it, in this case, we were the only two vehicles & he did something unexpected & got too close behind me, thinking he was passing, I charge that up to relaxing too much, after all that was my reason for the ride in the 1st place! Who can account for crazies! Shalom!

In the end, the laws are open to interpretation. The judge and jury ultimately decide on a case by case basis. The law sometimes doesn't protect you.
