I feel you man, I keep myself busier than I'd like but try to maintain that balance between work/projects/life for sure. I'm interested if you did videos on the electrification and all the new features new cars come with and the challenges they present to mechanics. I don't think I can even change the brakes on my wifes Acura without a scan tool for instance! Also as a Honda swapper I'm interested in some of these new electric motor swaps, and newer Honda turbo motor swaps from current generation civics as well. Love seeing you back and miss you man ETCG has helped me I don't know how many times over the years with content that is entertaining as well ;)

I remember finding your channel right when I graduated high school in 2010. I think I remember you mentioning you went to art school. I was trying to get a music theory degree and do studio work in college. I was also short on cash and you really gave me the tools directly, but also the tools to seek out information for how to best do car repairs myself using sources even outside your UA-cam channel. I loved your videos not just for your content but for your personality, how you speak, and just how smart you are. We all really appreciate you! It’s crazy to think that so many random people out there have gotten to know you through UA-cam for more than 10 years now. We will support you and enjoy your content and we are excited for your new creative juices that has been flowing! Thanks for what you do Eric!
I’m so glad to hear you took care of your mental health! Finding a good therapist can be absolutely life-changing. Us guys need to talk more about this stuff with each other. It's so nice you're back Eric, I started to follow your channel I think back in 2011 when I was in university and just inherited my grand dad's old but new (barely used) nissan, I had no money so had to do everything myself, at that time there aren't many people on YT teaching you how to fix and service car in detail and explain how stuff works along the way, I learned how to change oil/spark plugs/brakes/radiators...so much more, and those tips from a experienced mechanic like don't use petroleum based grease on caliper slider(later on I found out that, many "mechanics" don't know this), put copper grease on hubs so the rotors come off easily next time you service it, REALLY HELPS!!! Car YTbers nowadays has because more of a entertainment, not really something you can learn stuff from, so again, really good to see you back! Greetings from Taiwan :)

Good to see your return, and to hear that you are in a much better place mentally. Mental health is every bit as important as physical health, gotta take care of yourself.
I found your channel way back in the day searching for a how to for a repair I needed to make on my 1994 Honda Accord. You had just the video I needed, with amazing detail. Great filming, a list of all the tools I was going to need, and a thorough step by step how to. Eric The Car Guy quickly became my go to channel for anything Honda related.

A few years later, THANKS TO YOU, i successfully replaced the engine on my dad's car which is still going strong and on my car i replaced the clutch, suspension, brakes, AC components, fuel pump, rebuilt the alternator and starter and a whole bunch of other stuff. I even removed my transmission one time and pulled all the gears out of it, just for fun (nothing wrong with it).

Eric, you have given the community a great deal of information over the years and forged the way, (IMHO) for many mechanics and car guys to start their own channel. You also helped so many of us DIY folks out in our early days and gave us some great tips and tricks and tool recommendations, etc...
Remember your drive axle tear down way back around 2010? Remember your first small and somewhat dark garage? Humble beginnings are what made me tune in and im glad you are thinking about coming back and adding more content.
I'll keep an eye out for your next video! Thanks again for all you have done
    Jp

Hey Eric, I’m currently 33 years old and you pretty much got my into diy auto repair some 14 years ago when I was in university. Always watching your videos and getting inspired to work on my own vehicle. Fast forward and now I have my own place with a nice garage and in it is my own project car. Thank you for sparking this hobby for me!! You got to remember that I’m probably with thousands of others that you have inspired. Please do whatever inspires you and it will result in good videos that inspire others 💪

Welcome back, Eric! I went to the shop today in my ETCG T-shirt and was thinking about your videos. It is such a nice surprise to find the new content today.

It was great to see you again. I’m glad you worked on yourself and you’re doing well. I remember watching you change brakes in your original house garage. (Yeah I’ve been around a while) Can’t wait to see what you have in store for us.

You still have a lot to offer. You were a big inspiration as to why I got into automotive repair. It’s almost thirteen years later and I’m running my own shop. Possibly the best automotive UA-camr ever.

Hey good to see your face! Glad you were able to get yourself sorted and take a well-deserved break after your long tenure of videos.
You've given me lots of courage to work on my own vehicles and saved me lots of money. Also your enthusiasm for Hondas made me go out and get a manual Fit that I love. Best of luck to you no matter if its on or off UA-cam.

Hey Eric! You helped me as I've said before keeping my old civic on the road. I learnt soooo much from watching your videos. I actually sent you a video of the day I had to say good bye to the civic.

Yes, Eric it has been a while. Great to see you back here on the UA-cam. I do remember one birthday years ago, when you released a video on MY birthday...lol! I have since had to retire, had a stroke and had to sell my Snappy box, motorcycle and other stuff. Still own my home. Thank the Lord for a long and fruitful career as a Toyota MDT. I'm driving again, and still get around. Happy to see ya back!

Great to see you back. A topic for discussion or learning I like is scanner usage. How to properly use a scanner and the use of different types of scanners.
I own three and each is useful in its own way.
    Basically a focus on diagnostics.
Thank you, keep up the great work.🤙

@ETCG1 there's a thought, a collaboration. I like watching different channels and their take on the use or non use of scanners. Their approach to diagnosis and which pids they like using in that diagnosis.

Great to see your back. Scotty Kilmer just got some real competition on UA-cam again. Hope you do some reviews of the newer cars, what you like, what you don't, some junkyard repairs on older Honda's or Toyota's etc .

Dang, makes me think of when I first started watching your videos way back in 2011-2012ish. I wasn’t very interested in cars until I was 16 and got curious to learn more before I started driving, and of all things a Need for Speed game was really the closest I could get to practicing, so that’s what I did lol. I had so much fun playing that game I started to just Google search the parts that were available in the game and try to learn what they did and how they work, and I found myself enamored at the depth of knowledge there was to be had. I don’t remember exactly how, but at some point I stumbled across an ETCG video on UA-cam and I enjoyed watching it so much because I was able to learn how all these parts and systems communicate and work together to make these crazy machines work, so over the course of several days I sat there and watched every single video in your catalog at the time lol. I stayed subbed because I wanted to keep learning, and it just kind of became a staple in my life to watch every single video you put out, regardless of if there was knowledge to be gained or not😂 Really glad to hear you’re doing well Eric, and glad to see you back online, I’ll be looking forward to any new releases🙏

I've been following you since you had that old shop that looked like it was in the basement of a house. Glad to see your working on yourself. You taught me alot of the stuff I know about cars. You explained stuff in a way that allowed me to convert that knowledge to almost any vehicle. Because of that knowledge I was able to 302 swap my 95' Jeep Wrangler. Thank you so much for that. Taking yourself into consideration first I hope you get the opportunity to teach others some more. Take care Eric!

Hey Eric, I'm glad to see you coming back to UA-cam and I'm happy to hear you took time for yourself to regroup, that's very important. I've been watching your videos for many years, I enjoyed watching both your repair videos and your build videos, I'm a big fan of the Fairmont and Dad's truck build series. I hope you can build something else someday, and I'll be there to watch it. I'm interested to know if you have any plans for getting another shop in the future, I'm sure many of your subscribers would also like to know if you have anything in the works. Good to have you back!
