Merry Christmas mate 🎄🎅 I know haha, I should have looked up the tab too I've been playing it like this for years now and I'm certain it's wrong but at least it sounds close enough that it's familiar 😜
Got a similar body from Guitar Fetish, solid, no burst, Paulonia wood for added lightness years ago & this is exactly what I've been planning for it....
That’s really cool! If your little girl isn’t inspired to play that thing, I sure will! 😉🤣 It turned out really great, and I’m sure her reaction will be priceless. If I was five an asked for an electronic guitar with flowers, this one would totally have blown my mind for the rest of my life!!
That looks great. I am a big fan of the telecaster thinline. The gold really goes well with that paint job too. I hope your daughter loves it! As for your question, I usually go with what's on the headstock. By that logic, however, that would make a Chibson a Gibson. I think it's best to just be honest if you ever decide to sell one of these guitars. If you keep it though, who cares what it is. All you need to know is that it's yours, and you can remember the work you put into it every time you look at it.
Thanks mate I appreciate it 😊 And yeah I agree for the sake of selling it sure, if I was selling this I'd advertise it as a "Squier neck partscaster or parts guitar". I just like the debate, I've had people commenting on the Squier modification video I did saying it's no longer a Squier because I swapped out all the hardware and pickup, so it interests me.
Personally, I tend to call a guitar what it is named on the neck, no matter what other parts I have changed, I nearly always improve upon a guitar with new parts, I try to get a better tone with my EQ pedal before changing pickups though, you can get many Telecasters from Fender and Squier with different stock parts on them, it doesn't stop it being a Telecaster.
Great guitar! I also have my personal answer to the naming debate. I think you call the guitar whatever it started its life with you as. Using this build as an example, if you had bought the whole guitar and changed out the body and electronics I would still call it a Squire Thinline. Since you bought a spare neck and put together the guitar with a different body and electronics I would call it a Partscaster. I think it all depends on what you started with, it's the ship of Theseus vs building a new boat using an old mast.
great build - tele's are my favourite guitar - and really thoughtful gifts for your kids i have thrown together a few partscasters and my boys have nicked 2 of them a blue 60's strat that i "relic'd" - older one took that once he moved to sheffield and "discovered" arctic monkeys and a foam green Blink 182 alike the younger one decided was his - single bridge JB, you'd be proud buddy ;) needles to say, neither gets played much - but they are happy, so i am happy looking forward to more content in '25 - happy christmas to you and yours!
That's the main bit, as long as they're happy. I don't expect these to be played that often especially given their ages but I'm happy if they're happy. And that 182 inspired guitar sounds awesome mate 👌🤤
I've been subbed for a while and i still haven't seen you build a giant guitar, only normal sized guitars. I'm starting to think we're being lied to. 😡 Cool video as always!
yeah man, built aka assembled one with a blue paisley body from the same manufacturer. very decent quality, i was pleased… was your daughter pleased, as well? i bet she was… 🙂🎄
@@Giant_Guitars Sure! Had to spend nearly three hours to get that thing playable including fret leveling, eliminating sharp fret edges, nut filing. Really "great" for kids hands. 🙄
Wow that is one sick ass guitar
Thank you mate
This is such a cool christmas present. Just imagine your daughter starting a band in ten years or so and taking this guitar on stage.
Merry christmas!
@@christianhartwig4323 I can't wait, hopefully she keeps it forever
If it’s only got a single pickup, isn’t it not a partscaster, but a Partsquier ;) Looks awesome!
Haha good point and thank you mate 🙏

Thank you mate and very interesting perspective on the question, I actually agree with this, it makes total sense! Very logical.
I know I’d be happy to get that for Christmas lol. It’s a great looking guitar!
Thanks bud, appreciate it!

And thanks bud 😁
where did you get this pickguard from? i cant find any single pickup cutout versions
Ebay seller "earlpilanz" - he'll do custom cuts
Is it still a squier?
You have now stumbled onto the Theseus’ ship question.
Haha yes we need to know.
Guitar philosophy 101
What a great project! And your son's, what's that, a Duo-Sonic style guitar?
Thank you mate and yes that's a little duo sonic, it's actually a great guitar too. I think I'll do another one soon!
yeah man, built aka assembled one with a blue paisley body from the same manufacturer. very decent quality, i was pleased… was your daughter pleased, as well? i bet she was… 🙂🎄
Amazing I've seen their Paisleys and they look great too. She was bud thank you very much. Merry Christmas.
merry christmas!
Beautiful guitar; though wondering why a 500k pot for a single coil
It's a four conductor single coil so I was treating it more like a humbucker, I should try out a smaller pot actually to see too
Great Job👍 where did you get the body?🎄✌️❤️
Thank you bud! Check out HZ Guitars on eBay, Henry there always has a great collection of these.
HZ Guitars isn't coming up?
Yooo
Welcome
"Yer makin a telly"
Lol
I wish I had done that instead of buying a Loog.
