this is a hero, not your football stars ,not your singers not even a Kardashian, there is hope for the human race still as long as we produce little old women like this.
I have such Heartfelt feelings and much praise for her...The Apple Tree is very emotional for Me through My Roots...just commenting on here is a Treasure...I know all the Beautiful IDF I met from Israel Poland and Lithuania...Love Irena!
Irena Sendler. Such a brave, and remarkable woman. She saved 2,500 children and adults. She survived the Pawiak prison while being tortured by the awful Nazis. She changed many people’s lives and her own. She went through so much, someone cannot even imagine what she has been through. Irena will never be forgotten and she will always be honored. Thank you Irena for risking your life and protecting thousands.
She was a truly amazing Woman! In my eyes, she was a great, if not the greatest heros that the World has seen...I don't want to take away any significance from other people who saved others in desperate circumstances...however, the numbers speak for themselves...She remained a humble woman till the day she departed this Earth journey. Huge respects have to be paid to those students of rural Kansas, who re-discovered Irena's story!! I would like to meet them someday.
I just received Irena's DVD and book last week. I am eager to see her "Life in a Jar" DVD. I've read so much about her that I've been sharing her story with others. Irena Sendler was an incredible woman with a compelling message.
Moving. I recommend a french film similar to Sendler's story - La Colline aux Mille Enfants / The Hill of the Thousand Children. It's based on a true story, also very moving.
Poles are the best! Forgotten by ww2 elites, afraid of Stalin. Warsaw Uprising, , Irena Sendler, Stanislaw Mitsuda, Jan Korczak, Stanislaw Skalski ''Spitafire Ace'' I mean Hollywood is making some sci-fiction Inglorious Bastards and i think polish underground fighting against the Nazis could be enough for thousands of brilliant scripts in order to make fantastic movies, research Stanislaw Mitsuda, capturing German tanks and using then to liberate Jews in a death camp in Warsaw. i mean ''hello''!
The legacy she has left will impact lives for the rest of history. What a rich and meaningful life, we were lucky to have you for as long as we did.

Jeanne Smith I agree. She was a remarkable lady, and she was so brave. She will always be honored and our hero.
Keep her memory alive at all costs. Perhaps one day more people will have the same moral compass that this amazing woman had.
