Whenever I hear or play Clementi it makes me happy. It reminds me of my childhood when I would hear my older brother playing these and then myself playing them. Love it !!!
I guess I’ll be watching this for the next few months learning this piece.. Day 1: Learnt first 12 bars of first movement (without dynamics of course) Day 14: Learnt half the piece at half the tempo Day 21: Learnt the whole piece! Time to add dynamics Day 30: Learnt the first and second movement, still adding dynamics 5 months later: My teacher passed me for the first and second movement (yay). Now I'm working on the 3rd movement. I can play it slowly, but I want to fix dynamics and articulation before I get it up to speed.
Wow. I remember playing this. Fantastic. I miss it. I am playing again after about 15 years away. It's coming back faster than I thought but not sure I'm ready for that one! Thank you.
0:33 isn't wrong, some sheet music just has different variations. For example, in my experiences, I've seen different variations of FUR ELISE and MOONLIGHT SONATA 2nd and 3rd movement
I am going to check this once I get home. It sounds different. I was kind of freaking out because I thought I was playing it wrong maybe its written different?
Profesor , toca muy hermoso . Actualmente estoy trabajando en esta pieza y es una de mis favoritas, para Sonatinas Clementi es mi autor favorito. Gracias por subir este magnífico material ! :) Saludos !
I played this piece, it's not very difficult but at the same time, it's satisfying. The sort of thing you learn after practicing piano for a few months. It's a nice distraction, certainly more entertaining that playing Hanon exercises.
Clementi was technically not a composer but rather a music publisher and a piano builder. During the classocal era of music, he wrote technical legato style to test the full range of the pianos he built. To test his pianos which we really harpsichord, he would use his “Sonatinas” to see the range of sound, and legatos as if using a sostenuto pedal that came later in 1840s. Before the sustain pedal, it was “una corda”. So Clementi was in the right mindset and a century ahead to create a “legato” writing that would sounds “together” as if the sustain pedal used

If you want to know how I learned this piece, this is the answer: just like what the other people said, you need first to practice from section to section. As the second one, try to memorize each section by practicing. Third one, after memorizing, play it from the start to the end without looking at the book. If that helps you, then good!!😃

The first movement is that long.
For thoose who practice this, remember that is barocco sheet and you dont need to play in that fast tempo, better to play slowly but more beouty
