These Clementi sonatinas were invaluable as a transition from the method books and little songs to the works of the masters. I will always love them.

Such a lovely piece and a wonderful interpretation! All you youngies who are learning this keep at it! The music is so easily absorbed by the young brain. Get the piece in your fingers. Memorize it so that you can concentrate on making it musical when you play it and it just flows through your hands into the air. Take full advantage of your sponge-like brains now, the piece will be in your fingers forever. ps...I'm 59. I know of what I speak.

This is my favorite sonatina. I learned it when i was 11 or 12. I've picked it back up again for my upcoming recital.
It's funny going back to my old sonatina book and seeing my piano teacher's old notes from 25+ years ago.
I recently showed him my old book (we're still friends) and we laughed about how his handwriting hasn't changed over the years.

When you really put your mind to it its not that hard. I'm not gonna say it's easy because its not you just really have to be determined. I'm 12 and learning it now. and I'm not Japanese and i only practice about an hour and a half a day. just keep your mind at it and you'll get it down in no time! I'm sure you already know how to play it! It's never too late!

There's no doubt a professional pianist breathes new life into this piece, especially the final movement. Articulating every note really makes a difference, but so hard to do :) I think student slearning the op 36 sonatinas should concentrate as much on articulation after they've grasped the technical side.
