Great job. I've worked with wood for most of my 74 years but have never made a post office door coin bank. I purchased a post office door similar to yours at a swap meet and wanted to do something with it. And after watching your video it looks simple enough to make. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the mention man - those banks are looking great!
very cool!! DD
Thanks!
Didn’t see you cut list
Nice. I just purchased my actual P. O. Box door from college. I'm going to do this with it. Thanks for the how to.
Oh that's awesome, then it'll have even more significance!
Thanks Jim. This will help me when I do mine.
Awesome, glad I could help...Good luck!!!
Awesome bank I need to get the posts office doors I have made into banks
Jim Rumsey thank you
well i got a project for the week keep up the good work and are you going to make more project video
***** thank you
I really enjoyed watching this. Very interesting!!! I could not do it; but; enjoyed watching you . If you happen to have access to a lot of these and could seek out a specific number, please let me know, if you would make one for me.
Thanks it means a lot, if I ever come across a lot of them at a fair price, I'm gonna buy them to make and sell or give away as gifts
Cool project. Would you still a copy of the cut list you use for this? The link in the description isn't working anymore. Thanks.

Hello great job! Where can I find the cut list?
There used to be an online cultists, but the page no longer works...it was the only one I ever found, sorry. Let me know if you come across one, people ask often. Thanks so much
@@rupertpika151 I just looked it up and I’m not sure if these were your dimensions but here are some that I found.
(2) 5" X 4" X 3/4" for the top and bottom
(2) 6 1/2 " X 4" X 3/4" for the sides
Masonite for the back 3 1/2" by 5 1/4" X 1/8"
@@TimberWood.Customs ok just be careful because there are different sizes for the doors. Thanks for looking into this!
I have a Corbin DD c1925 that is already mounted in a wood case. Combo is long gone. How is that mounted in the case. Can I just pry it out and then rest the combo. Your video did not show how that was inserted onto the case. Thanks in advance.
There are screws on the inside...im afraid you would have to either take it to a locksmith or break the wooden part of the bank assembly...is their anyway you could pry the box apart and then reassemble?
Great build! Did you have a problem getting the screws into the side with that small space? DD
Oh yeah, was definitely a challenge...had to put them at a slight angle...would have been better to pre-drill prior to glue up...even with a right angle bit adapter it was troublesome
Where did you get the post office door? Very cool project!
eBay, they have hundreds on there...thanks
+Jim Rupert WOW! I didnt expect such a quick reply! So would you say $15 is a fair price?
+mrbinary1 if you could get one that cheap I would say yes
They go from 15$-50$. That's a good price
+Briar Fox Yeah I am pretty happy with it. Also just a tip, I went to my local post office and it turns out all post office employees have access to a forums of other post offices, and I might be getting a whole box of these things, so might be good to check your local post office too
How did you drill and screw in the door with that small space?
I used a right angle drill attachment, now I have a compact right angle drill and impact which would work a lot easier, but it was a pain!!!
This is the attachment I used: amzn.to/2RrKAHD
These are what I have and use now: amzn.to/2BYsqna and amzn.to/2F5xNUC
Let me know how it goes if you build one! They are really neat, and make great gifts!
I don't have any fancy tools. Are simple tools like a hand drill is ok to use?
Little Fairy Dreams yes you dont need fancy tools to make this...my tools are far from fancy...nothing a little sandpaper cant fix
Jim Rupert ok thank you. My dad taught me how to use tools when I was a little girl and I got a old post office door to make into a bank. Is there a way I can round the corners with simple tools?
Little Fairy Dreams yes, you could use a file, rasp, plane, sandpaper...maybe a few
Jim Rupert ok thank you so much. I will send you a picture when it is done. I need to wait for the door to arrive in Canada.
A great little safe. Subscribe and Like!
I have the door, could you make me the box in this video? How much ?
Tabitha Morrow sorry I just saw this, message me on facebook @rupertswoodworks thanks!
