    Why do people seem so polarized over platforms?
    Just use both and use whichever one you prefer. Being a fanboy over one platform just makes one look foolish.

      Well I am a fan of better technology. I am a fan of better price for my technology. Most importantly I am a fan of technology that is highly customization and logical.
      In all of those counts, PC wins. Apple is more expensive for the same level, and the price of a car for a half decent laptop. Mac is hardly customisable, and isnt logical at all. MAC is a scam. Simple.

    @TechnoBuffalo use windows snipping tool to crop an image to the desired size (no need for additional software since it's built into windows)-. It can be done fast press the windows key then type in snip or even sn is enough and hit enter and there you go 1-2 seconds of work

    • @DavidNightjet

      Also, mails are part of his work, he is doing that professionally, I don't understand, why you would restrict yourself like that. I use a fairly powerful mail app on my phone but I would never even think about using a Windows 10 mail app, or any app where there's a real program for

    An app not working in an Apple device: Apple will probably fix it in an update, just stick with it and it will become good.
    App not working on competing devices: this is a bad product because it doesn't work now, don't buy!
    Why does alot of reviews do these kind of things?

    • @zezosk
      @zezosk 7 років тому +11

      Vinddraken Because it's the truth. Apple is constantly pushing software updates and other manufacturers rarely do that. You'd be lucky if you get anything other that windows forcefully updated.

    • @Vinddraken
      @Vinddraken 7 років тому +1

      zezosk the truth? Jon stated in the video that Microsoft fixed a issue he had with their mail client, they fixed it in a update just like Apple would do!

    • @zezosk
      @zezosk 7 років тому +4

      Vinddraken you see that's my point. It's a Microsoft update, not a specific brand update. Hp or Lenovo, for example, might not push out updates for their hardware. My hp trackpad's drivers were updated after a year of suffering.

    • @Vinddraken
      @Vinddraken 7 років тому +7

      zezosk my statement was this: app from competing devices. Microsoft surfacebook is both hardware and software, a competing device. Google Nexus or Pixel is a competing device with hardware and software. There are many cases where Apple even states there is nothing wrong with their software or hardware, even so far that they drag someone to court if they point out security flaws.

    I never understand people who blindly think one OS is better than the other. You can do everything with one that you can do with the other. Both have things that are better and things that are worse. I do web development on both and for me it comes down to the hardware. If I'm on a desktop I prefer a PC, if I'm on a laptop I prefer a mac.

    What prevents me from really considering switching back to Windows isn't the OS so much, though I find some of the UI changes frustrating to use, (I actually really do like Windows 7, and wish 10 was more like it in the UI) is the whole "ecosystem" with the iCloud and IOS, how it all integrate so nicely. Everything is so nicely connected, and from browser history to calendar reminders, and even when I buy music or a movie, it all appears instantly on all of my devices.

      I'm the same with Windows. I have a Windows 10 PC, a W 10 tablet and a W10 phone. Take a photo in my phone and it appears on my PC and tablet. Set a reminder on my phone and it pops up on my tablet and PC. Save a Word document on my PC and I can open it on my tablet and phone and so on. Even if I change the desktop background on my tablet the same background appears on my PC, though I turned that off since my PC has three monitors and I want a different background.

For note i use onenote and it sync with my pc so when i taking notes in my pc i can read it later on my phone or even another computer thorough browser. I use Office 365 and have 1TB ondrive.

      Windows has software that does sound and video just as well, if not better, than Mac. Native CUDA support to handle data crunching smashes competition, if the software supports it. You have a good point, but it is an old point.

    • @dawgcanjumphigh
      @dawgcanjumphigh 7 років тому

      NeedMoreMushrooms Adobe is good. they work on both. it's a little bit better on Windows because the of cuda if you're willing to spend to get it. you won't get it on a $500 computer that's for sure. Macs natively have the software built in to the computer to do that. But again, it's a toss up. I use both. can't say which one is better than the other in terms of user experience. definitely Windows is better at gaming. Macs can't do that.

      CUDA is a method of NVIDIAs graphics cards, most Macs don't have a dedicated graphics cards and Apple now switched to AMD for theit cheaper solutions, you won't be able to utilize it on modern Macs.

    I have used Windows for about 25 years and my main issue with it is poor stability. None of the eight versions I have used have truly run as they are supposed to. Mostly minor stuff like drivers not working or some app not running, but it is frustrating in the long run.

      For what it's worth, driver issues are not an issue with Windows itself but 99% of the time third parties. When you're expected to support the full array of computer hardware, this tends to happen. With that said, stability really isn't a problem on Windows. Getting a Windows machine that runs well, stays running well, and performs as expected is not even remotely difficult.

"Was" because it got water on it almost 2 years ago. After that I got one of the best windows laptops available at the time, Hp omen. It was and still is one of the worst experiences I've ever had. In saving up to switch back to mac. Even though I game, not your typical hardcore gamer when all I play is league and csgo and indie games, I would never go back to windows again. In all honesty, OS X was the best and smoothest software experience I ever had. I still remember how I got some minor issues that frustrated me from time to time, but never did I feel unsatisfied with my purchase, unlike with the omen. I remember how much I loved that machine and I wanna get back to that, not the coming-apart laggy piece of garbage that cost me almost 2k and is just making my life hell.

    Some of the things you can't do on a mac aside from gaming (for all those people saying the operating systems are equivalent and/or equally useful):
    architecture (almost all Autodesk programs including industry standards like Revit and AutoCAD)
    engineering (Solidworks, Inventor, Catia, NX, etc)
    manufacturing (CNC capability of any kind)
    animation (industry standards like Maya), any serious 3D modeling of any kind really
    professional accounting and bookkeeping (programs like QuickBooks desktop that are needed to run businesses of any complexity)
    The list is longer, those are just some of the software I interact with on a regular basis for work. There are pared down mac and/or online versions of some of the above functions (things like google sketchup or quickbooks "mac") but they're not professional level because they only have about 10% (if you're lucky) of the features you get running windows based software and no serious person in the respective fields uses them.
    Not understanding these real world differences between mac and windows os means not understanding the scope of computer use in society and industry on a larger scale than just building websites.
    It's also why it can be funny and kind of quaint when people defend mac os as being equivalent or better than windows. The world would exist just fine without mac os, but whole economies, the military, global manufacturing and trade, etc, would come grinding to a halt without windows if only mac os existed (even if you could load it on a pc). The most that would happen if mac os ceased to exist is some film makers would have to switch to Premier instead of using Final Cut. And a lot of web developers would whine while they fire up bootcamp.

    I felt the same way about screenshots, but then I created a custom hotkey to open it:
    1) Open Start, and search for Snipping Tool
    2) Right click on the top result and select "Open file location".
    3) Right click on the shortcut in File Explorer and click "Properties"
    4) Under the Shortcut tab, hold down Ctrl + Shift + 4 to set a custom "shortcut key" similar to Mac OS.
    5) Save it (you'll need to give permission as administrator), and you are good to go.
    Of course, there is a caveat; you still need to click "new" and "save", but at least you have a similar shortcut that will open snipping tool lol

    It was scary at first not knowing what I could do with the Mac machine but its the synchronization between all of my Apple devices that is an absolute game changer for me. Apple Watch, iPad, iPhone. Everything works as one unit and that is just too amazing.
    As an iCloud subscriber for me and my wife it is also amazingly simple and effortless as everything seems to automate in the background without user input. Thats. perfect!
    Everything on my MacBook Air Retina is perfect. Finally Apple released a machine where the price was right (albeit still a little bit steep) but affordable for this old windows user to make the leap and never look back!

    Don't go to the app store looking for the best mail app, or screenshot app or any kind of app. Look on the internet and download a real program.

    1.there an app build in windows since windows 7 called snipping tool,let you take screenshot and crop which part you like on the go
    2. in windows 10 you can also press windows button + printscreen to take screenshot directly from anywhere

    A mail client. Seriously. Is it 2001 again? Nobody uses standalone mail clients and constantly dropping stats of thunderbird are a good indication. Not sure why mac users dont know it but ur gmail is not only cute inbox its also your web mail client. In its settings u can add ANY imap and pop3 based mail services including apple mail and have all ur mail in one place forever. With chrome desktop notification and android gmail app pulling down all connected mails makes it better than any microshaft metro app.

    Double-click the top button of your Surface Pen to take a screenshot of your desktop. The full screenshot will be saved in your Screenshots folder on OneDrive, but this method also gives you the option to crop your image immediately.

    Actually, in Windows, you can easily screenshot any part of the screen by just pressing WinKey+Shift+S. A very intuitive UI will jump right up allowing you to freely crop whatever you want from your screen directly.

    Windows gets a lot of flac...yes windows 8 was atrocious and awful, however windows 10 is fantastic. I prefer it over macOS Sierra honestly. I have a 2015 MBP retina and honestly with the way things are going with Apple I will probably switch to windows in 3 years (once my warranty expires) unless they improve their macbook lineup.

      The port situation on the new Pro is just bad, don't bother trying to sugar coat it. Removing the ports on the Air platform would have been understandable but still annoying. Removing them from the Pro is just stupid.

    • @kabloosh699
      @kabloosh699 7 років тому

      Emad Ahmed there is no future in having so few ports. Apple is only being innovative in ways to get as much cash from its consumers as possible and creating stupid expensive dongles is how you do it.
      Even third party manufacturers of accessories have to pay a hefty royalty fee when they want to use apples designs. Apple has been very crooked in their business practices and it's only gotten worse over the years.
      Still no touch screen either. You get some stupid touch bar now.

    Snipping tool works for taking screenshots of an area on the screen, and pressing Win + PrtSc will take a screenshot of the entire screen and automatically save it into your Pictures folder.
    If you'd prefer to only have the current window in a screenshot, that's still Alt + PrtSc and then pasting it into Paint or whatever.

      Aggelos Arnaoutis Yeah but you can't game well on a mac because they don't use powerful enough GPU's. It's just a hardware issue and even though they're still really expensive and will probably continue to be. They probably won't give any of their systems enough power to run games well. And if they did you can bet they'd charge you an extra 10K for that revolutionary feature

      +Wahab Shah Not .DMG or .IMG or .CDR or space bundles. And even with .ISO windows only has limited support. Windows can read far fewer file types than MacOS or even Linux and I found that got in my way a lot. Plus MacOS and Linux run on open source software instead of the proprietary MSDOS that windows uses.
