There can be another purpose for that center drawer glide.. I have some older pieces of furniture that use that center piece to support two separate wooden drawer bottoms, used when making wider drawers that would be hard to construct with just one wide bottom board. The dresser is coming along nicely.. sorry to hear that metric baltic birch is harder to come by in your area.. I use that stuff a lot in projects.
In my opinion the best looking side of the wood used in the sides of the drawers should be on the inside because the user is standing in front of the drawers and looking inside and they will not see the outside. Now the front should be best side out. HH
Without a doubt the drawer front should be the best possible face, even with my plans to paint the finished dresser knots and other imperfections could show through. As for the drawer sides, that's a good reason to use as clear a material as possible. Thankfully even the "not-so-nice" side of the Baltic birch plywood I'm using is still REALLY NICE.

I don't speak very good english. but the question is: -Is any place were can I buy wood and plywood with specific o custom size,to make this type of protect I leave in a apartment and we can not work with big machines inside the apartment like (table saw,router etc) -I try to use home depot and lower but this people don't help to much only little ....
