It can. It’s really up to you and how far forward you want the awning mounted. If mounted at the front of the rack on a HR it’s a little back (about 1/3 not covered) on a MR it’s pretty much in line with the sliding door.
You can install the fiamma forward and it still works fine it just doens't look as cool. Kind of looks like a fighter jet with it's mid air fuel port out. Some folks get wind noise with a cross wind depending on how far forward you mount the awning.
Slightly more data on why the holes in the center bracket were opened/lowered and clarification on the back mounting bracket only getting one hole and bolt would be helpful. Otherwise, nice video.....'FREEDOM UNITS"!!
As for opening the holes on the middle bracket, it just ends up low on our rack. It’s odd since it’s a straight line across the top. This has been the easiest fix.
Nice detailed installation! Just installed mine today, wish i had seen your vid first. Getting those holes drilled just right is a challenge.
Glad you found us. Hopefully we can help on your next project.
Moral of the story measure twice before going up on the roof! 🤣🤣 Loved it.
This was devised by one of our team Ian. He does a ton of great work around the shop and can do the work of two builders.
Is it possible to mount a Fiamma F80s 3m20 without roof Rack ? With brackets do i need?
Why did you need to open up the holes?
Great idea checking mount position of plates first. Does the awning cover the sliding door when it’s open

It doesn't look like it covers over the entire slider door, but maybe it was the angle of the camera. If it doesn't is there a solution to this?

Please include a link to the two small tools, as you said, are the only tools you’ve found to make it an easy job.
They should be up now. Thanks.

Do you have a conversion to banana units?

They only provide three bolts. Each bracket gets one bolt. There are two holes since the brackets are interchangeable for either side.
