Cannon Firecrackers compared to Black Cat Firecrackers

- Well it summertime and I sort of move into Pyro mode. Here I have made a video comparison of 2 brands of firecrackers. one is the Black Cat brand and one is the Cannon brand. I made this purely as a comparison and not to pick one over the other. A friend of mine displayfireworks1 Dave went to Wholesale fireworks and did a series of videos and he looked over these cannon crackers. I liked how they looked so I decided to take a trip there to pick myself up a brick. Sit back and enjoy comment and rate if you like.
I wish black cats still came with cat logo casings. Instead of the blank black ones I keep finding
I was saying the same thing recently, then I went and bought a brick just today and when I opened it I was totally surprised they were LOGO WRAPPED!! They were tied the old way not thread and they seem louder! Super stoked, going back tomorrow to buy em out. I mean they stopped the logo wrap in 2011 five years ago so who knows how old they actually are.
That's awesome! Yep, mine turned to confetti too. Obviously probably not vintage collectables, but just looking for something better than what they have to offer recently. We scored!
Not vintage yet. I wouldn't waste them. I have a brick of logo cats and just found a brick of 50's from 2009. Gave the guy my info so maybe he'll have more.
When I was 9 a Black Cat Firecracker blew up in my hand. I remember it stung like hell. I didn't cry though.

my friend recently went to south carolina and brought back some cool pyrotechnics and one thing he brought back was a bag of "m90's". I looked at them and it seems that the name "m90" is the brand of fireworks. It doesnt officially say m90 on it. They're basically an m80 but they fool you thinking its an m90. We compared an actual m80 compared to an "m90" and the "m90" was louder i just think its the way they made them. Basically its a brand of m80s

Mini-Dynamites are now my new favorite firecrackers I used to love black cats but theyre still a bit dangerous due to there grey fuse. MD's seem to be a little louder the fuse is green and gives you lots of time to not worry about throwing it and best of all they still pop under water.

How are the black cat's made these days, do they they have crimped ends(old style) or have they changed to the newer style (clay packed ends) ? I have't found anything on the market anymore that has the older style ends.
the cannon brand had one that didnt go off right away. theyre good but the only brand of firecrackers i buy is black cat. but thats just my oppinion
i live in canada and i was wondering if one of those firecrackers went off in your hand will you bleed or just be alot of pain. because i have these firecrackers that are called mighty mites. there about a third of the size of a clack cat firecrackers. i got them off my buddy who sneaked em in over the border. and one went off in my hand. it hurt for like two minutes. they contain flash powder.
The Cannon seem to have more duds than the black cat But the ones that did go off seem to perform better and they were louder
Are the blackcats still made the same way as they did 20 years ago? It's hard finding firecrackers that are made without that clay shit packed in the bottom.
@DrSwirl yes, black cat firecrackers are illegal in the state of California, they are sold out of state in places such as Colorado
@ChicanoTattooArt i guess. but it beats driving to las vegas if you live in california LA is closer but its what you prefer
For the black cat, can you take of a firecracker one by one or do u have to fire it all at once

You can buy black cat firecrackers over at fort hall in Idaho or in alpine Wyoming. I am 1,000% positive there are more places you can get them those are the places I have got them
the american ones are black with like silver cats on them, the ones that are red, u get them in ireland and are way louder.
the max load for these is 55mg of powder. black cat prides themselves for using the max amount. what really matters in the end is how much you paid. and yes you can separate them into individual ones to make them last

nope, the old ones were crimped, all of the new ones have that clay packing..My dad bought me a bunch of cool firecrackers back in the early 80s that rocked. I wish I would have bought more and saved them.
@PyRoMaNiiAk I have neverd tried the mega bombs, but the Black cat's vs. Thunder bombs Black cat's win hands down. The Black cat's tubes are a whole lot thicker then the Tunderbombs tubes. Black cats are also a lot louder. Most of the times you will have 2 to 3 dudes in a Tunderbomb pack and most of the time the tunderbombs blow a plug they wont even break the tube.

In my experience the cannons are twice as loud. Size does matter.
I wish they still made them the old fashioned way, now it seems all of these firecrackers have that shitty ass clay in them.

well i had it go off in my hand, and it just shocked my hand and went numb, it hurt but im not sure about it bleeding

the one thing blackcat does better than anyine is tying them. they dont go all to pieces like most other brands do which is what results in the duds.

Quick Question, next time you get some, look on the package.. how many Grams or Ounces of powder are in each? cuz in U.S. 1.4 G is the max legal limit.
1.4G is the classification for consumer fireworks. That’s not the legal limit. The legal limit for US is 50mg
size matters.
