My new stihl brushcutter is regular 2 stroke. My friend bought the 4 mix motor and it is quieter tons of torque , less vibration and burns way less fuel than mine. I didn't want to buy the 4mix engine with the valves but it turns out it's a great system. We use ours a lot , last year he burnt 25 litres thru the 4 mix engine making bush trails and he hasn't touched the valves yet.
I need to know this as well. The thickness of it for the br 600. Lol, I'm too cheap to buy one for .70 cents Joking, I need to know before mine ships to use a sparkplug gapper now. Or I'll have to clean out these gutters by hand ..
Need to buy a valve kit from Stihl parts supplier. It has a tapered feeler gauge (.06 I think) gasket and washer. Otherwise you have to cut down your existing feeler gauge to make it fit. Good video man.
You will notice dude may several misquoted, the screws are T27 torx, and he said take the valve cover screw and bolt down cover, well theres a crush washer needed rite there also, and never reuse cork gaskets
Do you need a special tool or will a typical feeler gauge work to set them valves. Your good at this stuff Jerry. Wish you was my neighbor. Guess I'll have to move to Alberta because I don't think you would ever come to Ontario. HaHaHa Thanks for posting. KIT d
for the couple bucks it's worth it's best to buy the tool, if you have feeler gauges you can try to cut it but then you risk the chance of not getting the proper fitment
You got that right. It made me break my pull cord, and snap the plastic peices that catch the crank shaft in that assembly. Lol. Deff adjust those it's very simple with the correct tools.
@@thersten there is a valve maintenance kit that still sells, it has replacement gaskets and the correct valve lash gauge included for just a few bucks
What would cause a push rod to drop? I literally was checking mine & while valve cover was off, turning flywheel to TDC I saw the intake side push rod fall down. Now it won’t move more than a half turn either way. It’s not at TDC either. Could that be a timing cam gear or what else am I over looking ? Could that mean the valves were too loose before I checked & the rocker arm jumped off push rod ?? I suppose there is hope since this happened while engine wasn’t running?
I have a BR600 in my shop, timing and valves are set to spec, but, when I trey starting the motor, I can't pull it over, it pulls the starter handle right out of my hand. I'm getting frustrated, I checked and double checked and can't figure it out.
No.adjust your values at .10 with the piston up..because you gotta run them 50.1 .and if it dont work pour a little mixing oil down the spark plug hole and lubricate the piston.wait 5 minutes and then pull it
I have adjusted valves multiple times at tdc and one valbe specifically the one on the left keeps popping out of place when i turn on the br600 within about a minute of full throttle what am i doing wrong?

ya you need to keep up on the maintenance on those engines or they shit the bed
What size feeler gauge did you use?

What is the thickness of your special gauge,. 00.8 ???
Nice tutorial. I think the valve cover screw is a T-27.
T-25
They are t27 no doubt about it, t25 will seem to fit but you will strip the torx head
Its t 27 made the mistake had to drill out some bolts
It is a t - 27 fellas.

+Mike Spain the feeler gauge from the dealer is only like a couple dollars

Thank you , you explained more clear, I was a little confused but now I know.
The best video out there! Thanks

Would a bad adjustment cause a rough pull rope?
Yes. It won't decompress like it's supposed to when pulling over.

what's size is the feeler gauge you're using?
Custom feeler gauge from the dealer
@@TestDontguess thanks for the reply. Just found out some folks say between .004 - .006 inches

Sound like your cam broke buddy. That or your push rod.
To be more clear it shouldn't fall into the jug unless something is broken or removed.
what is the valve clearance gap?
Trevor Calhoun 004/1.2 mm I think but please check with stihl
@@anthonyfoster7206 WOW 1.2 mm is .047 lots of difference there.
Good video

Pour some mixing oil down the spark plug hole and that will lubricate the piston.the piston walls may be dry.the oil will help free it
With the spark plug in the pull cord is hard to pull, with spark plug out pulls easy, could this be the valves out of adjustment??

Didn't you se all the metal shavings you left after the 8mm tool on the rocker :O
It adds horsepower lol
Thank you very much.

are those weights ? Jerryyyyyyyyyyy ! I didn't know you do bodybuilding ?
LMAO, 1/8 of a lb
pretty much ALL machine screws are T27 ,,,,,,, just saying
I didn’t use a gauge. I just turned it a little at a time until it was earlier to turn the crank.
they are T27, The whole motor is T27
Some bolts are t 24 like the exhaust spark arrestor bolts

Possible bent or damaged push rod
It is damaged.
This is why i'll stay with a 2 cycle. One less thing to work on.
that was funny
At 3 min 10 sec.... just a C hair 😅

Really? Music? Gross. I have to listen to porn music while learning about an engine
+catbirdfeeder don't watch then go find another video
Oh I'll just watch on mute. Good video, you don't need the gross background noise, it's distracting and weird.
