Good Work, Mick. Greetings from Phoenix, Arizona. I really like my BR600. It starts on one pull just like yours. After starting, I slowly run it up to full throttle, lock it there until I'm done and slowly release the throttle to idle to cool it down and shutoff. It consumes not quite one tank of mix every weekend for the past 8 years.

@mattavalon then the L needs turning a little.... Yeah you need a set of tuning tools.. check first as sometimes a Phillips screwdriver will do it on a Stihl
Hi Mick, Really enjoy the videos, and recently sub'd I have an Sthil Fs38 2 mix model. It starts and dies on idle, also bogs on reving. When it stops I can put the choke on start it and turn the choke off again, it will idle and die again shortly after. I have noticed that the priming bulb isn't filling as it used to also, I have seen a video on the accelerator pump causing issues and the one way valve which I will have to remove the carb to check again. Looking at the manual I have set the low speed needle 3/4 out but the high speed setting tell me to turn ccw as far as stop no more than 3/4 turn. I'm unsure of what this means as it doesn't stop. I have stripped and cleaned the carb which all appears fine, I have had the fuel filter out which appears OK but a new one on order. The fuel is new. The strimmer was bogging down on revs initially and was put away for winter only to be looked at now. Speaking to a local dealer I was told that these 2 mix fs38 are nothing but trouble and to bin it or try a Chinese carb if I can find one.... have you had any experience of this?
Any recommendations on finding one, have looked on ebay/amazon but as always mixed reviews. Some have dimensions on the listing so when I get it off I'll take measurements

Thanks! My 600 is 8 years old so it’s ready for this adjustment.
Good video Mick, on most small engines valve adjustments are always forgotten, makes a huge difference in performance.
I love l and s engineering on them every day mick

Hey Mick Great Job on that blower, I have done it on my blowers also (got 3 Br 600) 👍🏻

Nice job Mick. 👍👍 You should have found the copper washer in that kit as well, unless it was missing..
Missing mate
Great video Mick! Thanks.
Do you have a video for carb adjustment.
Will get this service done on my br600 now I’ve seen you do it.
@@mattavalon no sorry I don't.. but it's simple enough
@ yea I think I need to get my head around the L H thing. Think I need a special tool to adjust them. It’s just the tickover is a little low

Hi.. sounds like a fuel problem.. yeah I have used Chinese carbs and have had very good results... Try and fit one .. let me know how it goes

Great tuneup.but how come you didn't clean the spark arrestor. # 1 problem for causing it to bog down. Did you forget.
Nice 1 as always mick 👍 i bought 1 of these and it runs decent until its hot then its sometimes a pig to start, valves you reckon? Cheers
Could be... Worth looking at.. could be the coil.. or plug also

Just wondering what would happen if I made the rocker arm too tight?
@@stevenyan4259 what do you mean rocker arm?
Is there no oil to change? Or is it one of those 4 strokes that run 2 stroke oil/fuel mix? Never had one myself.
Yeah it's a 4 cycle
Is that top dead centre exhaust stroke
It's called Combustion stroke
I was in Germany on a Stihl course for eight months 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Does it run nice now or what 👂
How many months Pete? 9?
