    Aaaaand just like that, I'm back. The 2469K hand is, IMO, a perfect example of a misplayed hand with faulty logic. You were unquestionably getting good odds, but this hand is unplayable for that type of action. As you stated, the aces were probably out, which means you can't win with a low...you simply don't have the type of hand that can win high often enough without having to account for not having a decent shot at the low. The preflop decision is especially bad because there WILL be a number of flops that are reasonably good for your hand (T94 anyone?)...but the parlay of events is just too big and the problems compound. First, you have to flop well to your hand, even "monsters" for your hand may have you drawing dead on the flop (a K hi flush, a K hi straight), 2nd, the hand has to hold up against the field...and with an all in player, you're just fading too much, so the original error you made (calling preflop) gets exponentially worse as the pot is bigger (particularly when there is money behind)

    How does the small blind jackpot work?

    • @ploprofessor
      @ploprofessor  Місяць тому

      @@timothybatow3550 BTN puts $10 on the BTN. Only person who can win that is the small blind - by winning (scooping in split pot games) the hand. If the small blind does not win the hand or does not scoop - BTN moves - and next person adds $10 to it - and so on! Changed the action of any game you are playing - guaranteed!

    I'm surprised you're questioning your play on the 955 hand (and I've criticized some hands of yours in the past). A call on the flop doesn't necessarily mean 9's full and the 8 isn't particularly scary for full house purposes. What it does do is potentially put him WAY in the hurt locker with a hand like AK35 or something similar...you've got the superior low draw, you've got the "nut 5" (in case he may have a hand like 2345)...get it in and take your lumps if he has the hand he had. Honestly, it's almost like a reverse fish for compliments...I don't see any scenario where anyone can say "wow, the prof butchered that one"
