    Hello, how to handle top set on dynamic flop & spr high? Ex: You have QQxx on QJ4ss OOP and SPR = 2 or 3 or 5. But Turn could complete straight or flush. I see people just x/c if turn straight or flush come. If they have flush, you just have 20% top set vs flush. And They bet pot turn, we need 33% to call. Thanks

    • @ploprofessor
      @ploprofessor 3 дні тому

      @@lupin9364 this varies for a couple of different reasons. The one thing that I think a lot of people make the mistake of - is thinking they always have to bet pot. - it also becomes player dependent (what type of players are you playing against) and also what stakes your playing. In theory, stakes shouldn’t matter, but in reality, higher stakes games will recognize players who play passively and will pounce on that regularly. It also depends on how many people you’re facing. If you are heads up - I’m more likely to continue with a bet - if you’re multi-way and oop I’m more likely to either do a small bet or x/C depending on spr of opponent. It does boil down to a few other factors to consider - but I hope this helps answer your question (my first word of advice is you don’t always have to bet pot!). But always keep in mind the largest bet you can make is usually on the river. When it comes to a higher stakes game for example, flop may be QJ4ss and you hold QQxx and your opponent holds JJxx (with one space) if spade falls on the turn and you check, they’ll recognize that faster and most likely bet - protecting their 2nd set, with a single spade blocker, but also recognizing that if you lead with a wrap draw, now a spade makes your wrap worthless. Ty for the question and ty for watching. I hope this gives you a little more insight!

    one of the ways you can double check how much a pot bet is, see if the previous bettor is getting 2:1. so in the example given, where the pot is $100, a bettor bets $20, then you raise it to $160, now the pot is 120+160=280, and the original bettor has to call off $140 to call your raise, so he's getting 280/140=2:1

    Professor I'm counting 4+3+3+3+3+4+4=24 outs, not 22. It gets kind of confusing, I prefer to work out examples like this on paper or with a calculator, because I can see that in real life, if I'm taking 30 seconds to add up my outs, they are going to see that I'm "doing math in my head" and put me on a draw instead of a made hand.

      @ploprofessor 20 днів тому

      @@MrCoreyTexas my apologies! A kill happens when you are playing limit and win 2 hands in a row, the bet size doubles. So instead of playing 10/20 you have one hand where the game is 20/40….. You can also have a half kill (from 20/40 to one hand of 30/60) - all players agree what the kill is. In hold em it’s when you win two hands in a row. In Omaha hi/lo it’s when you scoop a pot

    Great video. My PLO home game has lots of double board bomb pots so I’m studying up on these. Our game has at end of night super bomb pots. We call them B-52’s. Regular bomb pots $10. B-52’s are $100!!!!

    17 outs is better than 38%, because having seen 9 cards, 43 are left, so 17 outs/43 cards in the deck=39.5%, but I get the need to be able to do quick math in your head at the table. Seems like the more examples you work out on paper / computer the better you'll be able to judge in real time when playing.

    I don't know what 1-2 5/10 means, I'm an online player, not live yet. I went back and looked at earlier videos, and you don't explain. Best I can think is, there's a $1 ante, small blind=$2, big blind=$5, and straddle=$10?

    I've always thought fold equity meant there's a good chance your OPPONENT will fold to a bet / bluff, NOT that you have pocket aces and have to fold YOURSELF to get out of the way of a monster. So your terminology confuses me

    14:01 I have not seen your opponent's hands, but I am pretty sure neither player had any business calling your bets. As played, I would probably bet the turn as you did, but I'd be very worried if called in 2 spots. I feels like one opponent has the 5d and most likely has another diamond. The other player is probably not supposed to be in the pot, but probably has some monsters draw on the other board and is too stupid to fold it. I would expect to be ahead on top and behind on bottom, but with 2 chances to get a good river card, this was still not a bad spot to be in thanks to your 2 way hand. As it stands, nobody even had diamonds. Very strange.

      @@ligafftheindifferent3495 no, about 17 hands in per 1/2 hour. With a $7 per player drop - that comes out to be a little over $3 per player per pot. It’s really common in higher stakes games that players pre/tip the dealer. You don’t factor in tipping because the pots are substantial enough - and you don’t tip the dealer when you win a pot because the dealer is already pre tipped. So it still comes out to be a little over $3 per pot in rake (8 handed -$7 bucks per player for time all you need is 16 hands to get to 3.50 per player). We were getting a little over 2 orbits on dealer changes - so it’s a really good deal. Actually best rake in the country when you calculate it / even better than 1/2 nlhe
