it's 4am and I have to go to intermediate class tomorrow so I should go to sleep but instead I'm watching this!! what is the name of the lady soloist at the very beginning..? her arms are just endless!!!
I don't mean to give you a hard time, but should you really be posting this? After all, I've bought this and other DVDs from the NYCB and I'm sure it's still available for sale, so is this really helpful to the company? Just asking.
No, but it's helpful for the arts, which is more important than the business that runs a billion dollar company. Without Balanchine alive we only have this as his legacy, and is vital for people who is not in countries where Balanchine's work is performed often. I'm sure NYCB will be just fine without, how much, 30 dollars? that would be gaining from selling a DVD.
I'll tell you one thing - if you want conductors to have access to this important, archival-level material, you'd BETTER allow access to these videos! How else are we supposed to see how it was done in Balamchine's lifetime? Currently conducting Jewels in Oslo and this video is going to help resolve a misunderstanding in the ballet text tonight.
Excellent posting, Mr. Clifford. I appreciate watching this so much!🎉
💚 Always lovely seeing one of my teachers from the past, Daniel Duell performing 💚
What a nice surprise: all these Emeralds! A good way to start into Pentecost. Thank you Mr. Clifford!
Thank you so much John for posting this 💗
Exquisite - merci!
For the 2 solos and the other pas de deux - were those not originally broadcast by PBS?

It was posted on UA-cam free and was allowed by the copyright holder according to them.

@@abrillanteri5583 I don’t think it has anything to do with NYCB getting any money. It’s about PBS and the distributing company.
