@@Not3HobbitsInATrenchcoatso double crochet is like single crochet but it's a bit different, in double crochet the size of your stitches get a bit taller then single crochet. You can do double crochet by doing the first grab your yarn around the hook and then your going to stick into the 4th chain, only do it in the 4th chain when your starting a row, and then your going to bring up the loop bring up the loop, what you're really doing is reaching back, scooping up the yarn, just like this pulling it back through and you now have tree loops on your hook, again pull it through the first two loops and you'll now have two loops on your hook wrap your yarn around the hook and pull it through the last two loops, you'll now have one loop on your hook and your first double crochet for this row is done. And in the same roow you don't have to start the double crochet from the 4th chain.
Loved this! In case this is helpful to anyone else, you can make the stars smaller by skipping the last row of increases (right where you have 15 stitches) and start working on the points exactly as described in the video, but doing only 2 slip stitches instead of 3 in between each point!
All of these amigurumi patterns are adorable! I know you haven’t done one of these in a while but if you want to make one, I think a turtle pattern would look super cute!

I don’t understand what is going on. I made two stars and when I tried making a third, it just never came out right! I just didn’t have enough space for the fifth point and I couldn’t figure out why.
I've watched 2 of your videos this morning and I absolutely love them. I love your humor and that your a lazy crafter like me. I learned how to crochet starting in March when the states went into quarantine for COVID. And now I am hooked!!! I've made leg warmers, granny squares for 2 blankets. So your blocking video was awesome. Thank you! I'm currently working on snowflakes, these stars, and fingerless gloves. I do not read patterns very well so all that I have learned has been through your videos and video chat with my best friend who lives in Florida. My husband is active duty military and crocheting has already been such a huge stress relief. It will keep my hands and mind distracted during his next and upcoming deployment. Your videos will get me through the time. Thanks again and have a happy day.
A month late but if you follow the IG link to the owner of the pattern she has a crescent moon pattern down a little bit on her page! Edit: hopefully this takes you straight to that post instagram.com/akamatra/
My daughter is loving these little mini figures I've been watching of yours. She has the flower, a few hearts, a star and rainbow now. She has them on her backpack. All her friends want me to make them some now.
Watching this before I even start trying to crochet and you lost me at double crochet and half crochet 😂 rewatching until I get it, but i still love how well you showed us how to make this thank you
Thank you sooo much for this! I am a beginner at Crochet and your videos are so easy to follow! Your voice is perfect and all around I just want to thank you!
AAH! Thank you so much! I just started crocheting a few weeks ago and this is my first project!!!! You did such a great job explaining everything!!! TYSM! I'm 12 and its been hard trying to learn Amigurumi but you changed it all! :3
My first one has a certain homemade charm, but it still looks super cute! I somehow ended up with a 6 pointed star for one of the sides, so I kept that one as practice and had another go!
This is literally the best crotchet vid i have ever seen!! And I struggle alot when it comes to learning how to crochet online its just so difficult! But your vids are amazing 🤩
thank you so much. Your way of doing the magic circle is genius and made it so easy to do. I no longer hate magic circles! But I am struggling with the repeating pattern for the star points. I always come out with 4, not 5 . But not to worry. I'll figure it out. Your instructions and video are so cleari it's got to be me. LOL and I love a good challenge.
What a cute little star. I love all of your patterns & critters. You do such an amazing job of explaining how to do the stitches too. Thanks for sharing.🥰
Love the idea of a garland. Maybe make the stars with a yarn that has a sparkle to it. Fasten the stars to the garland with the stitch markers then I can give them away right off the tree.
I'm Brazilian and I don't speak English. But I managed to learn everything. Thank you so much for sharing, and thank you for your excellent explanation !!!
Never expected my third crochet project would be this easy... I just randomly chose to make a star and clicked on your video at first I thought this one would be damn hard but I did it in just 2 hours!! Gonna make more soon! ❤
I just used your star pattern to put a star on a wind spinner and it looks great. I didn't put a face on or stuff it but I did add bells on the 2 lower points.
This was super easy to do. I made a teal coloured one and I’m going to make more. I’ve shared the video with my cousins as they love crocheting too. Thank you so much☺️.
Oh this video is amazing I'm just starting out with crochet and you've explained it so well I'm about to start my star now. Thank you I def have subscribed !
i just got the best idea before you sew the two bits together you can put a angry face on the other side of the star and you can turn it around from happy to angry!
I'm so glad I found this project. I have little yarn left and I climb the walls with nothing to do. I don't walk very well and sitting with nothing to do with my hands drives me to be very sad. My next SS check will allow me to buy a little more yarn.
