Well said Rosalie i think it's high time we reactors jump on this trend and make proper use of the opportunity placed in front of us. Thanks for sharing ❤👍

so interesting to see your title mention the beef between Drake and Kendrick, after the shooting at Drake's house in TO last night that some are wondering if the beef is involved ( TO police are investigating) . Besides that, I loved your video on reactors from the other day, very insightful.

Haha yeah they’ve been at it for years. But the most recent battles have gotten quite intense and people are eating up reactions about it. i’ll be posting another video about the psychology behind it all. Why people love battles like this etc

Shout out to Kendrick for releasing claims, Unless Drake does the same his name shouldn't even be mentioned in this conversation, If he follows suit then I will retract this statement.

Also the artist often as not has nothing to say about it if they're signed. The industry is going to get their money, and YT generally sides with the industry.

It would definitely be a great thing if rap (and country and mainstream), relaxed a wee bit. I know a lot of reactors and all those genres have been death for reactors. I'm only talking signed artists not the independents. Rap, country, and mainstream labels do NOT like reactors as a rule. If its actually broadcast on radio, they're still going by the rules established in the 1950s. For awhile artists, or their labels had to pay stations to get played. Then that flipped and stations had to pay the people who held the copyright. Similar things happened with juke boxes. This was because of monopolistic practices, corruption, and in the case of juke boxes, because the mob had a stranglehold on anything coin operated. The labels for those genres still observe those rules. You play their music they expect to be paid, not only in YT ad revenues, but the reactor themselves. Reactors rarely see a cent of the YT money. But the labels, distribution, and publishing interests will go after them anyways. In addition to this YT's algorithm penalizes reactors because their content isn't "original" . Now in the 70s there was fair use legislation passed, that educational content should be spared this. Music analysis is educational. But that law isn't as enforced as well as the other ones. YT generally sides with the music industry. You also see a lot of problems with international artists (Asia especially), and older artists. This is why you'll almost never see a Garth Brooks reaction or the Eagles (or even an Eagles cover). YT algorithm also penalizes reactors if they have reactions with claims, and the industry can come back on them with a strike retroactively, and repeatedly.3 strikes and you lose your channel . Metal doesn't have this problem as much. So yes that would be great if things changed.

These guys are keeping these diss tracks going so they can make more money. I don't believe what they say, but it's clever. Overall my opinion of both has gone down.

It's very inexpensive advertising. Now if there were millions of reaction channels reacting to a song, sure it would get the original millions of views, but if all the channels are monetized, that would be hundreds of thousands of dollars in monetization. However how many reaction channels can UA-cam support? Those with the best personalities and added value will be successful of course, and it will weed out most channels, though they may continue with only a few hundred loyal followers. And will be unlikely to get many views.
