The title of this video!!! 😆🥹 I love your sense of humor so much. But more seriously…is it ironic that you made a video about being stressed and the instant I click on your videos I feel my stress melt away? ❤️ You are amazing and you deserve peace and harmony in everyday…but you’re right, stress takes away from the simple joys that actually build us up and make us feel happy and content. Sending lots of calm and happy vibes your way. ✨🌷Every little thing is gonna be alright✨🦋 A tip I will always recommend is music. Brew a cup of tea and get cozy with a good playlist. Music is so healing. xo Amber ⏰😘
When I’m really stressed, I find talking through the jumble in my head helpful - kind of like you did with us! In other news, I started A Brave Start yesterday and I’m loving it! 💖
You all definitely help me so much! Being able to talk to you in the vlogs really helps me process what I'm thinking. And omg, thank you so much for reading A Brave Start! I'm so glad you're enjoying it! :)
I find vlogs like this helpful because it makes me realize I'm not the only one who melts down sometimes. You could seriously publish a plain colored cover that just said ATP4 on it and I'm still gonna buy it. I'm in it for your writing, not your cover design. Just sayin'.
Mandy, I adore you! You've definitely made me feel better about the cover lol. And I'm glad the vlog helps, you are definitely not the only one who melts down sometimes. :)
⏲ Thanks for the moonshots, Andrea! Sending virtual hugs through the internet :) Ah, boarding the Stressville Express... I've been there, was there earlier this week, in fact. When I'm stressed, it helps to spend time with nephew and niece; he's 6 and playing with him helps me remember that "this too shall pass" and that's it's never as bad as I think; she's 1 month old and seeing her little, cute face cheers me up everytime. For the stressful days when they're not around, I will cuddle up under a warm blanket and watch something funny like "Brooklyn 99". Laughter truly is the best medicine. As someone who has chosen the indie publishing route, your channel is a great blueprint for me: The highs, the lows, and everything in-between. I do cherish everything you share because it informs my decisions more than you know. I have yet to publish anything but I've been working hard, planning my days (and if you knew me, you'd know this is SO not me - routine is hard for me to maintain), but dreams don't come true unless you do so I'm doing my best to get my projects completed so I can FINALLY start publishing my work :)
I'm glad you enjoyed the vlog. And yes, laughter is the best medicine. :) I'm so glad you appreciate me showing all the highs and lows. It's really important that I show the full picture of what self-publishing is like for me so that if others have similar struggles they can see it's normal and they're not alone.
⏲️ Heya! Another great vlog. Sending love and hugs. When I'm stressed or anxious, I usually go for a nice cup of tea, cuddles with my furr baby (dog) or a great bubble bath with a favorite / calming scent. Try not to stress yourself out too much!
Its so hard to muscle through the hard parts of self publishing. My heart goes out to you. I feel the pain and frustration doing everything to get a book released. But you've got this. For what it's worth, I adore your covers. You are so talented. As for the planners, I need a monthly/ weekly view too. I need to see the whole month before I can break down to weekly. As someone who has gone through a lot of planners, let go of whats not working. Its more stressful to try to fit yourself into a planner that doesn't work for you. I'm at the point where I print out a monthly calendar then make a weekly calendar that I print out. Even though I don't like the pages lose, its also kind of nice to lay them out and see the next few months. But I might be weird. Lol some day someone will make the perfect planner for me. Hopefully. 😁
There are so many challenges with self-publishing, but traditional publishing isn't easy either, so it is what it is lol. But thank you for your kind words, I'm so happy you like my covers. :) And I'm glad I'm not the only one who struggles to find the perfect planning system lol :)
I've thought about that. I used bullet journals for years during my PhD. But even when you keep your layouts really simple, it's a lot of time to set everything up and hard to future plan in the way I like. So pre-printed and dated planners are what I need now. But I did really love my old bullet journals. :)
I really wish I could afford to hire out those stages. But if I outsourced that, I'd probably only have one novel out at this point because I'd still be saving for the second one. :)
Would creating a cover or the first few stages in the sketching of the cover before the copy edit phase work for you? The story is still fresh in your head and you are still in a creative mindset compared to the technical side of copy edits. You could try stacking stages of the publishing list that live in the same or similar mind set so is less taxing on you. I do want to emphasize: congratulations in all the progress you’ve been making. It feels slow to you but you are moving forward!
I think I'm going to start doing the cover, book title, and book description at the start of the project, while I'm outlining. I usually know what the cover will look like before I start writing, so there's no reason to save it for last and doing so clearly isn't working lol!
@@AndreaJSeverson I'm looking foward and crossing my fingers for you. Hopefully it would be smooth sailing (for the most part) for you in your future releases.

Tea and music are great for calming my mind. :) I'm so glad these vlogs make you feel calm. :)

That mug is so good, I definitely believe in the power of a good nap when things are stressful ❤
I love the mug too. :) And yes, naps are the best.
Wow!! You have the most amazing collection of mugs❤
Thank you! I really love my mug collection. :)

Tea is always a good idea. :) And I'm working on not stressing so much. :)

Thanks for watching!
It sounds stressful, you can't do anymore than you can do. I find sleeping on it helps.❤❤❤❤
I think that was part of my problem, I haven't been sleeping well. I felt a lot better after the weekend and finally getting some sleep and rest.
making progress is all we need! :) I hope you feel more relaxed moving forward.
I'm feeling a lot better, you'll see in tomorrow's vlog. I took the weekend to decompress and it really helped. :)

@17:50 It sound to me like what you need is an OG Bullet Journal.
I've thought about that. I used bullet journals for years during my PhD. But even when you keep your layouts really simple, it's a lot of time to set everything up and hard to future plan in the way I like. So pre-printed and dated planners are what I need now. ⏰️ book stuff can be super stressful 😅
It really can! But that's when I have to remind myself to just slow down and take a deep breath. :)
IMHO as soon as you pick your title, the cover will create itself. Personally, I would hire out things like copy editing and cover design.
I really wish I could afford to hire out those stages. But if I outsourced that, I'd probably only have one novel out at this point because I'd still be saving for the second one. :)
