🏡 Hi this is my first time commenting but I have been watching and trying to catch up on all the vlogs while I go about my days, love having a friend to hang with while I clean or craft! As for creating a cozy/safe space, lighting is always my starting point. Some rooms in my home have both warm and cool light that I can use to match my mood and other rooms I invested in RGB lightbulbs to add more of a mood. Once I have that set I will try to add a scent, this largely depends on if my child is awake haha but incense burns quickly and sticks around longer for me. I am not going through the same things medically but I definitely understand the ADHD adding to whatever we have doing on. Learning to cope with that AND other things is not always easy but we can get through it! I hope you have a great rest of your day! Your videos make me miss home but I still enjoy them!
Hi Andrea-Thank you for keeping me company while I put together a bookcase. It’s from Target, but watching your outing makes me wish I could spend a couple of hours getting lost in all the display sections of Ikea, soaking up possibility and beauty and order. How nice that you got to spend that time with a friend! My cozy home advice: lots of lamps with warm-light lightbulbs. And pumpkin-scented candles :). ~Amy 🍁🧡
What a beautiful hike, thank you for taking us along! IKEA is one of my happy places to visit too. I love their display rooms, it gives me great decorating ideas. The closest one to me is about 20 miles away here in the DC area, so not too far. How fun would that be to have a meet up. That book launch day cake that your mom made looked amazing!
🏚🏡 I've still somehow never been to an IKEA! I like to light candles and have a really cozy blanket. Our house tends to get pretty cluttered, and I'm by no means a minimalist, but I feel my calmest when it's at its tidiest.
I'm in the same place you are with perimenopause. The anxiety, brain fog, irritability, etc., etc., etc. I think I may do a video on my channel to talk about it too. I've done one on chronic illness and need to an update. But just had to jump on and say, "I hear you. I see you." Wish we lived closer so we could grab a coffee and chat. Sending hugs and love from Georgia. 🦊🐿🏘
🕯I'm glad you had a good day! That hike looked amazing. I also live in the desert, but I don't go hiking much. Now is the perfect time to do it. Retail therapy is fun. I buy books and dvds when I want cheering up. Though I am trying to cut back on that as it really adds up(Target had a few sales and I couldn't stop myself). What I do to make my home feel cozy, is that I like doing art. So I'll make signs or paintings and put them up. I'm not like amazing at it by any means, but even just the process can be really relaxing and then you have something cool and custom to enjoy.
i like to make my home cozy but hoarding as many books are possible!! i think books are the best decor item, and i rotate the shelf that i look at directly every season so that "new" books get some spotlight! 📚📚
